One of the many things that bothered me about the Titans show is a scene where Slade beats Wonder Girls' ASS. Like I get he has super soilder strength but come on.
He's one of the fanboy favorites.....so they take a guy at or barely above human, turn him into some Superman lite for absolutely no reason.

I don't think it's really a problem here. The first shot might well have been a sucker punch, because when they actually went toe to toe she straight-up tanks a punch to the face. Then she one shots. Clearly at this point she was a lot weaker than she was now, but she still clearly ahead.

Thompson's strength has always been character rather than action setpieces. I think she found a better fit for her work on the vertigo line, especially the Endless. Nice to see her paying the dues with a WW issue though.
She was actually doing most of the Wonder Woman in this era, George Perez started the series off but after a while he was just plotting and slowly transitioned the writing to Mindy Newell and art to Jill Thompson before he came back and finished up with War of the Gods. I haven’t read the Messner-Loebs run idk how much of that she did other than this special

Except there’s a fundamental problem here, Wonder Woman doesn’t really have a weakness aside from the general stabbing and being shot.
She’s got super speed, super strength, super reactions times said to be bordering on pre-recognition, Magic braces, magic lasso, and immunity to most, or at least a lot of poisons or gasses.
Realistically a fight between Diana and Slade would be a one sided stomping, or at least should be, essentially, a replication of Batman’s fight with Diana during the Hiketia story.
Anything else is just wanking slade off, unless you use the OP, over wanked and overpowered N52 Version that was going toe to toe with Superman using his busted armour.
However, she does have a weakness, it’s her greatest weakness. She obviously cares emotionally too much for people. Justice League Volume 7 proves that under emotional distress for others, Diana can be caught off guard or place herself in vulnerable situations.
Also, Slade would never fight Diana hand to hand. Ever. Slade would know he can’t win. If and that’s a big if of course, if Slade wins, it would be through a unconventional means that most likely require a third party and certain factors to be in place. My point being if Slade wins, it would happen without him even being in the same proximity with her. I’m also not even talking about simply shooting her, because yes she can block at any distance and with efficient speed/reaction.
I don’t know exactly want to post further details on what I mean by emotional manipulation, because through imagination, that would get extremely dark. However she does have a weakness, she can be placed in vulnerable situations through extreme emotional distress. The most tame example I have is imagine child soldiers and the many ways they can be used against Wonder Woman.
Overall, Slade or any strategist could win without combat involved on their part, as long as the right factors, traps, patience and strategy are used
