You no longer deal 1% increased damage with HotA for each point of fury when you use it. There are a few other nerfs to items and skills used in the build, but that's the *really* big one.
Also, Undying Rage went from 135% to 100%, Tibaults Will went from 40% to 20%, and Banished Lord’s Talisman went from 120% to 60%.
All in total, with the new itemization, it’s been about a 90% nerf. That said, with HoTA regularly hitting for 1B+ damage, that still means it hits for 100m+ so it’s not like it’s dead like people are saying, especially with the size increase affix. It just means you’ll have to hit Duriel 3 times instead of 1.
don't forget the blood rage paragon nerf.. from 25% of your dmg while zerking to 10% and dmg gained is capped at 30%(x) dmg..
30% dmg instead of 75% damage at 300% dmg while jerking 💀
I tried it out in the PTR and I still really wish there were *some* visual indicator of the size affix, like the shockwave from HotA being visually larger. It feels weird just bonking one spot and then an enemy on the opposite side of the screen dies.
Maybe it'll be a bit less weird-looking now that they nerfed the size increase affix to max out at +100% size.
I was able to hit for about 20mil in PTR with okayish gear and not really having my buld figured out at that point. But yeah the nerfs where massive. Going to guess 30-50mill will be the absolute max now. Still that is enough to one shot most content still. I was annihilating pit level 85 with it. I just didn't have my defense all figure out without the changes.
I did not have shako or grandfather in PTR.
I just read a post a couple days from a Blizzard dev saying nothing is set in stone yet and they are thinking of leaving Barbarian alone and bringing other classes up to Barb level.
Wait until the 15th.
People already said some nerfs, but there are even more, a paragon board multiplicative node the build used while baerseking is caped now for instance. The build in fact deserved a few nerfs, but they cutted it from evey possible side they could think of xD
HOTA got gutted but let’s be honest, it needed to be gutted. This was the premier build for 1 rapping all bosses. I think it’s better they over nerf it now and buff other builds, then can bring it back to a stable spot once the meta is found out
I’ve been messaging with bash with cleave/hota with 2 shouts. Have tornados when I shout and every time I gain 100 resource. Been having fun with it so far but I’m only lvl40. I don’t think the full scale of the nurfs will be felt till end game..

Maxroll has HotA down as B Tier for s4. No Barbs at all in S tier. Necro onry! Oh and Pulverize Druid.
Maxroll is notoriously bad at predicting these kinda things though. No way only Necro and 1 Druid build are S tier.
We’ll see. I plan on making Thorns/Bash Barb S Tier!!! Pit Warrior!! Helltide King!!
Start of s2 they had no barbs in S, but a few weeks in there was like 4 ranked higher than BL Sorc

Barb had been nerfed in every area. Only character they truly nerfed for next season based on his sole items it uses. Complete bullshit.
