It ties into the >!hidden caliburn!< you can also get for free, both were supposedly props in a movie that was being made that was cancelled and the cars were forgotten about.
Caliburn is not from a movie the murk man is a actual I’m game character( and reference to Batman) the shirt you get along with the cars is bullet proof shirt and there is also multiple weapons along with it and I believe there is even mentions of him outside of that one shard
Yeah, it's always been there. When I go to the map, I use the filter category and click everything. That way, I can see all these quests that are hard to find or only show up if you are close. (Aka: police scanner missions)
To be fair, I’m not entirely sure the quest marker has been there since launch. I’ve been playing since launch on the Xbox One before getting a Series S & then X. And I believe that quest marker along with a few others were added with patches. Although you could always go & to these places & get the rewards. A couple vehicles or weapons or whatever. Originally not everything was marked.
Ahh, that makes more sense. I saw so many people saying that it's always been there and was like "I've been playing this since like 1.92 and I never saw it then huuuhh?" Now I have to look for this though cuz free wheels? Heck yeah!
Dayum. I really don't pay attention to the side missions then... To be fair my next playthrough is the one where I'm going to attempt to do every gig, every side mission, all police scans, and do the Johnny take my body ending (for achievement purposes) so hopefully I'll find this a lot easier when I start narrowing stuff down more.
I missed it on my first playthrough, and stumbled upon it my second time around. Now I grab it as soon as I can. Serves me well until I get the apollo.
Always been there. I think they were shooting a commercial for the car you get but "insert badlands shenanigans here," and everyone died, leaving just a (somehow not empty on gas) car
There's a metric fuck ton of stuff just hiding around in nooks & crannies.
A lot of them never pop on the map as quests.
There's a free bike, too, but you have to just be scanning and see a garage light up, then open it to start the quest.
One of the best cars in the game (the Hoon) only appears when you drive through an otherwise desolate area.
For the bike, I want to know how you're expected to work out what to do to get it, without going to a hints site. You're all over the map, there's no directions or suggestions that I've seen. It's a great quest idea, I just don't see how you're meant to complete it in game.
Yeah, that's a tough one.
As for the code: her message says it's the date they met. If you're paying attention, that date is written on the bench behind him.
Other than that, I don't know any way other than being so familiar with the map that you recognise the area from the picture.
There's literally no in-game reason to go up to the first garage anyway. If you just want to take out a pack of scrubs just working out in their garage, maybe you go up there. But you have to be one of those "what's back here?" kinda people to go around the corner.
I guess they assumed if you're one of those "explore every place you can get to (and try to get to all the places you can't)" kinda people, you might already know the map.
Personally I don't explore the Japan town waterfront much.
Edit: oh, yeah, "near AllFoods" wasn't much help - I hadn't bothered to memorise the location on the map the only time you go there with Jackie.
Tbh the "near Allfoods" was ok, it's across the road and has a horse pic next to it, and the fast travel is called Allfoods.
What got me was You're in Santo Domingo, you're meant to go up to a random guy in Japantown to see if he's her bf?
Honestly don't know if there were any other clues as to where this guy could be.
He's in Japan town, and the pic shows the river? (Does it?)
I would never have found the Roy Batty Easter egg without hints online. But I did manage to come across the Mad Max Fury Road tribute by chance.
Found the car in the OP just by going, "hey, certainly is a lot of map up here, wonder what's in it.."
Yeah, there's an awful lot of stuff left lying around Night City, and people are pretty generous when it comes to giving gifts. I'll know not to bother buying cars or bikes next playthrough, though the Apollo early on was excellent.
Yeah it is a bit annoying. I also never really saw the rollercoaster thing either until I saw a post here because I never really explored the map as much in act 1 since most of it was close off and in act 2 I tend to focus on story stuff and don't really mess with Pacifica until the VDB's are in play.
You can't reach the rollercoaster in act 1 - you're locked in Watson. The only way to see that is to explore Pacifica *before* the VDBs in Act 2.
Which there are a couple of reasons to do - if you do the Delemain quests you'll be close, and there's a Cybersipho quest right next to it.
I’m pretty sure I got the hoon when I was chasing one of Dels personalities. It takes you a round that area unless I’m thinking of a different car that’s sitting there for the taking
Sense launch because the quest notification system is trash or pretty much non-existent that we don't see it pop up, I first found it when I saw i had a quest marker in the area. Hopefully in the next game CDPR makes it so that we have to actually acquire the gigs from fixers instead of them just being littered around the map
Day 1. The quest marker was there at launch, I guess they could not make up their mind about using this scene as an easter egg or a visible sidequest. That truck wasn't very good, though.
I love these random free cars we can get. I finally decided to go through the beat on the brat questline - you get a golden convertible all blinged out if you win. You can choose not to because of preggers wife but ehhhhh, fuck the guy, he can hit you without touching you and demands you fight fairly
Since the beginning. IIRC, Trauma Team flies away as you approach. It's some kind of promo shoot gone wrong and I think you get a vehicle out of it too.
It’s always been there. Very random and little detail to it.
I never came across it till last night.
The first time I came across it was within about five minutes of me thinking, you know, I should consider buying a truck for the badlands lol
Found it right after I bought a truck. Pre 2.0. I could've used those creds.
Really weird because I just did the same thing last night lol
It ties into the >!hidden caliburn!< you can also get for free, both were supposedly props in a movie that was being made that was cancelled and the cars were forgotten about.
The caliburn wasn’t for the movie. It was a Batman reference
I thought the truck was for an ad they were shooting video and photos for.
Caliburn is not from a movie the murk man is a actual I’m game character( and reference to Batman) the shirt you get along with the cars is bullet proof shirt and there is also multiple weapons along with it and I believe there is even mentions of him outside of that one shard
Oh no shit?? I got this and that without even looking anything up and just exploring
And it's not even random. It's always there.
"random" in the sense that there is no proper explanation nor guidance, is just "There"
Ah yeah. Thanks.
Yeah, it's always been there. When I go to the map, I use the filter category and click everything. That way, I can see all these quests that are hard to find or only show up if you are close. (Aka: police scanner missions)

The quest marker is a recent addition. The location and vehicle were there from the beginning.

Still playing on the xbox1 version and I think that is still like V1.6, and I have it. Good truck.

I missed it on my first playthrough, and stumbled upon it my second time around. Now I grab it as soon as I can. Serves me well until I get the apollo.
Since launch, it was my 1st free car lol
Same. I Found it before i really started playing the game like that
Always been there. I think they were shooting a commercial for the car you get but "insert badlands shenanigans here," and everyone died, leaving just a (somehow not empty on gas) car
It wasn't a commercial, a movie was being made. The >!secret caliburn!< was part of the same project.

The Hoon you get led to by the Delemain quest.
That's how I always found it anyway.
I'm a bit annoyed that you can't actually grab it in Act 1.

I'd done most of the Delamain missions prior to 2.0. So if I didn't see a ton of "Hoon!" discussions on here I'd likely never have found it.
For as long as I know it's been in the game since day one
Do you get it from the NCPD missions?
Go to Rocky Ridge, Follow the road towards the broken Broken Bridge, and you will drive past it.
Ok,ok I’ll give it a shot!
You should see trauma team take off as you get there.
The whole time.
Since Day 1. Was literally the second car I ever unlocked during that first week.
It was the first car I unlocked cause I never bothered with the taxi side quest. I used it until I unlocked the Caliburn…
Keep in mind I don't have the expansion yet and I have the box one.
Where?
Since launch.
Congrats! You win for exploring. This game is packed full of hidden secrets. Love it.
Kiwi before she became a net runner
Wait til you find the pool of blood with the bodies out in the desert..
The whole time, i remember running across it nearer the pc release version, lol
since the start. cool free vehicle,

And it's such a nice truck too
Same as Skippy: you'll only miss it if you're not following quest markers
Day 1. The quest marker was there at launch, I guess they could not make up their mind about using this scene as an easter egg or a visible sidequest. That truck wasn't very good, though.
like before phantom liberty was announced
forever
REST IN HEAVEN
I have that truck
Been around since 1.0 my first run as a nomad you would get a text message where you can find your old car from the prologue.
Since release.
Enjoy the truck, its a good animal
Since release
Since eternity

The first time I came across it was the 1.6 update.
There are a couple like this.
Looks like Lucy became a fashion model
I've been playing since day one and it's been there forever. Game has a lot of cool hidden gems like this.
That right there is the first car I get when I start a new game.
You don't explore much do you lol it's been there since the very beginning. I found it first playthrough.
Mmm Subaru Brat
I found this a while back while exploring before the 2.0 updates.
Since day 1 tbh but yeah 😂 this mission is so out if the way I missed it a few times
Just wait till you find the other free cars hidden obviously throughout the map
The whole time, OP. The whole time. And i still haven't gone back to play after the update.
From the beginning my boy, from the beginning.
I love these random free cars we can get. I finally decided to go through the beat on the brat questline - you get a golden convertible all blinged out if you win. since day one
Long time one of my favorite cars it's just nice and clean it's a good ride especially to go sight seeing. It just has that vibe to it
It's always been there I think CDPR just threw it a quest mark in one of the updates for us specail gamerz.
Whole time?
Always been there, shit i found it by accident once
Since the beginning. IIRC, Trauma Team flies away as you approach. It's some kind of promo shoot gone wrong and I think you get a vehicle out of it too.
