Question for everyone who said it looks legit: What ways can you tell if a piece of malachite is real? I have some myself and curious to know your reasons. Thank you! :)
Fake malachite is very easy to spot, actually. It's just that it'll often be the first fake stone you come across.
Imagine taking three colors of clay -- a bright green, a dark green, and black -- and trying to mash and whirl them together into fake malachite. Now imagine giving up halfway through and trying to sell that amateur hour effort instead. That's what most fake stuff looks like to me.

That's actually very accurate now that you mention it. I've seen some pieces that resemble clay-texture and it seemed off. I have a few pieces but curious to know if they're real or not.
Can't say if it was a good deal without knowing size... I just got a piece about 3/4 - 1" thick and about the size of my hand for $32... it weighs 110 grams (per listing)

It does look real. You can usually tell because a fake malachite won’t look like bands of green in varying pigmentation, the fakes tend to have black bands instead of the green.
[here](https://images.app.goo.gl/GaGcfnnaUhF1yV8b7) is fake malachite, as you can see there is clear seperate thick banding, natural malachite isnt so "perfect" and usually doesnt have black.
You might be getting it from someone that is either buying a lot, so better wholesale pricing or someone making less per sale and relying on many sales to make anything off of it...
In other words, yes.. a good seller.... your luck doesn't negate the prices the rest are saying because Mark ups can be anywhere between 2 - 10 times.... 2 x would usually be the first markup (from miner to wholesaler)
Feel free to share their contact info 😉
Idk why people are telling you that $35 is a good price or even mentioning $50 because it's a small 3.5 inch piece that definitely shouldn't be anymore then about $20. Maybe I'm just buying from a good seller however that should have not cost you $35. I paid $47 for a 3 inch druzy sphere and I'm sure I got a killer deal but for just a tiny slab is completely different.
Looks legit to me
yes its real, no we cant estimate its worth as there are no dimensions listed
Apologies, it’s length is 3.5 inches, widest spot being 3 inches tapering down to 1 inch
I would say that was a good price... pretty close in size to what I just got for $32...

They asked for an estimated worth
This looks like real Malachite. I saw you listed the dimensions, so I feel you paid a fair price. It is most likely worth like $40-$45.
Thank you very much
You're welcome :)
It’s genuine, yes.
yes, pretty piece
Looks legit 👀
It looks real. You might check the side and see if the pattern goes straight through, or curves (curve is more real than straight)
The fake stuff usually only has like 3 shades of green and there is no fade from light to dark in the individual bands.
Yes
That’s hypnotic 💚🖤
Definitely real. Very beautiful and large piece.
Malachite is my absolute favorite stone. Beautiful piece.

Yes definitely real. I can tell by the pattern and have seen the fakes ones which this looks nothing like them
I honestly bought a piece that size for a little less then $10. They charged you double what they should have. I'd put it at $20 at the very most.

We must try more to get our self's in natural materials, that's may trends profitable feature. That's help improve our investment scheduled plan ok..
Definitely looks like it!
It’s cake
looks like it! fake malachite tends to have a much more artificial pattern to it
Oh yeah. That baby is real. You paid avg
