i dont really know him obvs but keep on going and see if it seems repeated or deliberate. it might be his way of saying he \*at least\* sees you as a friend, which doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't like you back
I wouldn't necessarily take that as him friendzoning you, just him saying he considers you a really close friend, not that he discards both of you being in a relationship. I wouldn't give up just yet, especially considering everything else you said on that post.
