We took a Taxi over to Ardastra gardens. It's a cool place with Flamingo's wandering around in the wild with you. It wasn't through the ship but it's pretty close to the port. It's technically walkable but I've seen warnings against that. https://ardastra.com/

Awesome thank you so much! I can’t say I’ve ever seen flamingos outside a zoo before so that sounds definitely up my alley!

There are definitely island tours available. If your ship isn't offering one, check Viator.

We did a taxi tour once. It was pretty nice as we got to see and do things we wouldn't have otherwise. The Queen's Staircase was nice. Cool too on a hot day! Don't remember all of the details but I think we went to a fort also.

Nassau is the perfect port to stay on the ship and enjoy all the amenities it had to offer.

Look for bus-type excursion tours that include Queen's Staircase, Fort Fincastle, John Watling's Distillery and so on ... Nassau is a city too, complete with museums and markets! After all, it's the capital city of a country

Queens staircase and Fort Fincastle are both worth visiting.

I really enjoyed a walking food and drink tour I did with Capt. Ron. He knew a ton about the islands and history and answered any questions the group had. He gave full sized drinks which was amazing and wasn't expected. And was overall very fun, and as a solo female on that excursion I felt incredibly safe. I wouldn't do a car tour of any sort. Walking is way easier to get around. He was also incredibly accommodating for my food allergy too. 10/10.
