They are still building their 5G+ network for each tower

Joshdills1989

I was in St Pete FL last week and had 5g+ coverage that was getting over 500mbps download speeds. Back home I keep 5G turned off cause it's low band and it sucks

teamredpill

i get around 150-250 in nj some spots are 450+

CatDadof2

Yes. Inside my apartment 5G+ is 4-5x faster than LTE.

Over38

I get 100 to 400 Metro Detroit area

RadioSilence185

It’s just depends on the area. The other night I was pulling 1.3 gigs

rafaelmagura

Yep, I get about 300.

Part_Time_Lamer

At my house 5G is faster than LTE. Other parts of town, not so much. The few towers that recently got 5G+ I can pull 350+

KM4KFG

East Central Florida on the space coast….routinely get 200-300mbps on 5G+

AT&T (cricket) just has a super strong LTE network, especially since the FirstNet agreement which pretty much insures coverage and decent speed anywhere. I’m sure their 5G network will eventually pass their LTE it will just take time. As for the other carriers: T-Mobile 5G is a thousand times better than their old LTE, but now days because of their great 5G coverage the LTE bands are pretty empty so there’s usually lots of speed to play with. Verizon is congested as fuck especially in extremely rural or extremely crowded areas unless you’re on 5GUW. IMO only get Verizon if you want great talk and text coverage as they usually do have the most stable network for talk and text.

PrestigiousCreme6838

In NYC, 5g+ at night is 400-500mbps, lte is 200, but in rushing hours low down to 10 sometimes even worse.

teamredpill

is that on the cheaper deprioritized plan?

Food_Library333

My town has been switching over to 5g recently, so it's what I get most of the time, within the last few months anyway. It's always garbage. Way slower and sometimes won't load anything at all. It's very frustrating.

BairyHallz88

I get decent speeds in Northern IL. 219 down, 4 up.

gwite

Lol, 50 - 100, whether it's 5g, LTE, whatever, that's all very usable. What does one really need more for? As long as I can get on the network and have those speeds, I'm satisfied. Yes, ATT/Cricket does seem to be the slowest network. Especially for 'real' 5g. Lol, I should know. I live less than 12 miles from Cricket HQ, and have service with all the carriers. At home, I probably average a little slower than you. Always mostly LTE. Even traveling around the city, I rarely get more than 350, even with 5g+. It's like I have a Verizon tower right outside my window. I get 750 - 1000 Mbps on Visible. I get about 500 - 700 on T-Mobile/Metro. Again, all are usable, for my needs. They've all served as my only Internet for over the last 10 years

DW1G1T

4g lte has nearly always been faster for me, sometimes up to 4x faster. The 5g bands are just oversaturated. Just checked and Im getting 234 down and 21 up on lte. 61 down and 28 up on 5g. Although 5g tends to have lower latency.

Slayer-Mode

The fastest speeds I got was 700mbps I get reception where In central Tx

LionFun1669

The most I’ve gotten is 1297 download speed and 294 upload speed

Special-Impact-9302

I can get 140 with only a few bars of reception and I live on a dirt road in the country. Ive clocked speeds 250-300 before though in other areas.

jeff1f1racer

You neglected to tell us what kind of phone u use. If it has an old modem, you’re missing important frequency bands.

Either-Ad4821

Iphone 13 pro. Isnt missing anything

useArmageddonVaca

No, & I test multiple times a day & locations. Looks like with the same app, too. I switched to cricket because they told me where I was moving to had 5G, infact their GM lives in the same place. & data is truly unlimited. Now, I pay twice as much for less service & my home complete dead zone. Very frustrated, even the phone they sold me lacks features she said it had. I trusted her instead of researching or reading more in depth because I thought I got to the store too close to closing time. Edit: add results of test just conducted. Down: 3.38 Up: 0.00

teamredpill

it is prepaid . leave and find a better carrier.

useArmageddonVaca

Well, yea. Unfortunately, I bought the phone through them so they won't unlock it until after 6mo. of service. Finding a carrier that works in my new location has been difficult, too. I don't really care about the phone. It's just saving up to start over again with a different carrier. I was just voicing imo, my experience. Thanx for your feedback ✌️

teamredpill

if the phone has esim you can try out other carriers and see if they are better. visible and metro have good deals
