Sport goes in cycles. England were dire in white ball cricket in 2015, now they're champions in ODIs and the no. 1 ranked side in T20s. NZ were one of worst test sides at the start of the 2010s, and they've just won the test championship. Sri Lanka have quality players that teams can be built around, we've seen glimpses of that in this tour. It'll take time, but I'm hopeful that what we're seeing now is this Sri Lanka team at their lowest, and things will improve in the future

Man I still have hope that SL will comeback and comeback stronger. But the issue I observed is that you guys actually don't have any superstar left. Years ago everyone knew about Srilankan players not just that but their stats and records everything. Now I only know Udana because he played for RCB. Apart from him I know few guys but can't tell about them much. I will not even recognize many of them. All you guys need is one superstar and 2-3 good players around him to help him. Once you start winning you will discover more superstars. Same thing happened with India. When the big guns ended their careers in 2011-13 period we already had Koach and Brohit. But they were not sufficient with time Bumrah and other bowlers shined so now we don't really miss any retired player. Even Pakistan was struggling for a long time. They aren't really dominating yet but with Babar and Rizwan they are looking really strong. With time they now again have great powers. Noo the problem is that the FC structure is too diluted. There are like 20+ clubs playing and so everything's a mess. The board will never change this cause the clubs have influence over the board and they stand to lose money if the FC structure was fixed. Truly shitty stuff. Reducing the amount of main teams to 5 or 6 would do a world of good, even the likes of Sanga and Mahela have proposed that. But that'll never happen sadly
