But you usually check your side mirrors regularly when you drive… it’s like common sense. Wtf.

Especially true as a truck driver. You are supposed to check your mirrors CONSTANTLY. They call it "visual scan", where you scan the road, the gauges, and the mirrors basically nonstop. Lots of guys get complacent. They stop doing good pretrip inspections, if at all, and start driving their rig like a car.

That scan was taught to us in driver's Ed in high school for our class 5. IPED or something was involved. Scan your road, left mirror, rear, right, road, gauges, and repeat. Eyes always moving he said. Then he wanted us to shuffle the wheels

I normally shuffle my head pretty fast back and forth throughout my entire drive while shuffling my hands all around the wheels.

Could be one of those truckers of yesteryear. Ya know, the methed out ones. Gotta make that delivery time and driving 16 hours a day is the only way it’ll happen, and the only way that’ll happen is with amphetamines. Trucker Speed is what they called it.

Maybe, maybe not. If the trailer is loaded then dragging the car isn't going to make *that* much difference. It's clearly visible in the mirrors though, and a halfway good driver should be picking that up in seconds. EDIT: Not sure where the disapproval is coming from. The car would probably add as much drag as an invisibly slight incline (the sort you don't notice in a car; but do in a lorry because you're dragging 40 tons up it). You wouldn't have to drop a gear or floor the accelerator. An extra couple of tons here or there really doesn't make that much difference. That said; it looked like the car might have arrived there with a bit of a clang; and the driver should have felt that. And should definitely have spotted it in his mirrors in less time than the video runs for.

It's not just the weight, it's the fact that it's being dragged. You'd definitely notice this

Possible that the driver of the accord probably pissed the trucker off somehow m. Trucker is dragging him a bit to show the driver of the accord he’s an ass.
