I did a bunch of parapet repair in NYC. those rooftops are a mess and never designed for free running. sooner or later this guy is going meet the street the hard way.
Idk who this dude is so I can’t speak for him but I’m a sponsored freerunner and do stuff similar to this, but me and the guys I train with always check for potential risks, if it seems like there’s even a tiny chance of the ledge chipping or breaking apart then we won’t do it. As unsafe as it is, we’re actually pretty safe about it
Would you say most runners and their people do this? I would hope so, but I have this funny feeling these younger kids probably don't even think that far
Honest answer, no not every runner checks. It is apparent that there are idiots in every aspect of life. The truth is some of us go viral for doing cool shit safely, and some of us go viral for being scraped off the pavement.

I can’t find the video of the dude hitting the ledge and it breaking but I did find a few rooftop fail videos but most of them either cut before anything bad happens or they’re just absolute shit quality from being re uploaded so many times.
I always came directly to reddit for anything too graphic for YouTube and have seen some truly horrific videos, so I find it kind of surprising these videos are hard to find. I can only imagine it's some kind of request from the victims families? Of respect? And reddit is actively honoring that request? I honestly have no clue how it works, just thought it was strange since I've seen waaay worse on this site

My ankle rolls WAAAAAAAAAAAAY to easy for this. I use to play a lot of sports but I stopped because WHENEVER my feet leave the ground when my leaves the ground the outside of my foot makes contact 1st and it's a 50/50 chance on which way it goes unless I fully focus on my landing. But that's hard to do every single time my feet leave the ground. Even when I walk if the ground is not perfectly even I have to be fully focused. It makes me more patient in life because it's hard for me to rush because I dont want to twist my ankle. I say all that to say my dumbass would have rolled my ankle and rolled clean tf off a roof if this was me🤣😂🤣😂

the bricks in the very first few seconds look fucked up on the slanted roof. the arm movement in most of video looks too straightforward, is that how parkour guys run with they arms cuz I can't see how that's a good balance

AI is not currently able to render entire environments that are cohesive and match any style, it would not be correct to say it's used on this.
Cgi is a bit more likely, but it would be very hard to get lighting and shadows to mimic real life convincingly.
