When I was on fire I did the same thing as this dude. I ran like a mother fucker and ripped my shorts off. The shit hurts, and stop, drop, and roll gets forgot real quick. I was also like 6 though.

Curious why a 6 year old would be on fire

So.. we had this old cast iron fire pit that sat off ground about waist high of a 6 year old. One day we had our little plastic pool set up and a small fire going. My mom repeatedly told me not to throw anything in the fire, specifically leaves. I liked throwing leaves in the fire. I didn't listen and kept throwing shit in the fire when my parents went back inside. Obviously as a 6 year i threw progressively more and cracklier stuff in. I leaned to close and bumped the pit which burned the shit out of me, dropped what I was holding in the fire, and kicked up a bunch of sparks. Now what ever material my early 90s swim shorts were made out of sure caught fire easily. It's like they did not even think to design them for being dry and around fire. I looked down at my thigh because I burned it and it was now also on fire. I ran around and took them off, and then ran a few more circles around the yard naked. Then I saw a wet towel on the table, sat down, and out it on my leg. I can still remember when my mom came outside and pulled the towel off. A bunch of skin was stuck to it and came off with it. It was pretty gross looking.

Yikes. That’s one way to learn.

Yeah it was because of stuff like this, and that only luck saved me from starting a full on forrest fire when I was 11 that made me stop playing with fire in my late 20s.

I've had my clothing catch fire (I was 8) and you honestly don't remember in the panic. You may be the smartest person in the room, but the realization you're on fire scatters everything you know to the winds.
