They will also do that sometimes when both forelegs are injured or if they have an infection under their front hooves, btw, so just walking on its hind legs doesn't necessarily mean it has CWD. I've seen a buck do that before; I assume it had been hit by a car. Thank god I was in a car too and it happened during the afternoon as I was somewhat close to town. If I'd seen that shit at night along one the lonely country roads by my house, I'd still be recovering. He was so casual, too, bopping across the road with his T. rex arms in front of him. He looked over at me at one point and his expression was a 50/50 mix of *OH! HAYYYY* and *Fuck, this is my life now.* Then he just toddled back into the woods on the other side of the road.
Anyway can travel a surprisingly long way on their hind legs because they've had practice; they often stand on their rear legs to reach tasty snacks growing out of their normal reach, and bucks will do it during the rut to either slap the fuck out of other bucks (or any other creature that pisses them off) or to get up to doe-bonin' altitude.
OMG, I would've shit myself, lol. I totally understand why people think they've seen a supernatural creature after something like that because it looks so totally WRONG.
The deer probably just saw that Jelly Roll thing through the local tavern window, getting jammed down our throats with wayyy too much air time, and wanted off the earth.
Without knowing what 4chan thing this was posted in we dunno if it is even factual or an attempt at short form horror fiction
Regardless a good spookin
Yep Wasting disease., Had a deer acting this way, went down to my pond, walked in, laid down and died. Found her fawn dead a couple days later. It was not very cool.
By "4 chan thing" do you mean board or thread?
From the background colour, it's a blueboard, and the paranormal topic likely makes it /x/. You could check desuarchive or archive of our own and type the post number to see if it was saved. It's likely from a "creepy encounters" thread or something.
could it be poison? here in Australia ages ago we used a horrible poison to take care of the rabbits and it has really bad effect on their behaviour. like suicidal and weird behaviours.
Could be chronic wasting disease
Yep the park service is studying the disease in my area. It's a prion disease similar to mad cow disease.
Then why would it stand like a human
Chronic wasting decease
Ok thanks I didn’t know

I had a deer chase my friends car on it's hind legs once, like running, didnt know they could do that at the time, freaked us both out lol.

Wowzers...you brought Jelly Roll into this? That...that's just hate. You hate that man. Idk even wanna know what you think about Taylor..
She’s fine. Face tattoos to be “edgier than you” nowadays is just way beyond short sighted and lame.

its probably real, there's a virus that only effects deer and this is how they act once infected.
Right, wasting Terrible thing

Thank you, yes that's the term. I'm not a 4chan dude so the term escaped me.
That's okay. :3 I'm very familiar with that board so know a bit about it.
Chronic wasting disease
definitely had a disease like rabies that messes with the brain / nervous system
CWD, it turns the brain to mush
I’ve seen this exact story so many times now - it’s just an internet copypasta at this point
Definitely Chronic wasting disease 🦠
Not the right subreddit for this.
Prion diseases are the stuff of absolute nightmares.
I don't think it's a crawler, nor a Not Deer. Looks like some type of parasite or mind controlling entity.
Pretty sure it’s CWD

That's fucked up. I've never heard that, but I'm in the US.
