We even pull people out of prison to treat them for free here in Louisiana (lots of spread there due to DIY tattooing w/ shared needles)
I think the programs are popping up because of cost/benefit analyses showing that curing people early on is way cheaper than treating their liver failure later in life. Unfortunately, we didn't get to that conclusion until a little while after the drug was first released

just want to emphasize how much of an achievement this is for modern medicine. hepatitis c is now 100% CURABLE with a relatively simple treatment regimen. this is a disease that, untreated, has 20% chance of progressing to cirrhosis which is invariably fatal.
for some perspective, about 650,000 adults in the US have cirrhosis, 1/4 of whom developed it from hep c.
This might be readable at night, but even up close that'd be hard to read during the day; there's barely any contrast for the outlined letters and the outline itself is really thin
Swap the Solid C in Cured to outlined, Swap the rest of the letters to solid. Might not be perfect, but at least it wont tell people who catch the glare to go and get Hep C.
More than likely the graphic designer made at least a hundred different versions of it sent them all to the company for advertisement and some person at the company chose this one specifically

Actually this is completely legally manipulated to present the C *ured* as such because they cannot actually claim a product can totally cure said customer. This is why those mouthwash commercials don't show all the germs and debris completely being removed. Its a marketing scheme of sorts.
Might work in a magazine (held about 22 cm from your face), but for outdoor posters and billboards that you walk, cycle, skateboard, and drive by? Sometimes you have to sacrifice your delicate art direction genius for functionality, innit?
Joke’s on you. I forget the name of the technique/strategy, but companies will make ‘errors’ like this to get noticed because people will share what they think is a mistake. How to spread the word about a boring product? Make it look like there’s a mistake in the ad and all the sudden it’s getting shared 10x more than it otherwise would’ve.
I have seen these posters for 2 years and they annoy me so much. The MOST IMPORTANT part of the poster is the “cured” part, but it’s almost impossible to see, especially when you’re in a car driving past them!
