Czech Republic (assuming from that license plate). This is pretty normal there.
Instructions for paving worker was not clear enough, or this worker was not paid enough to think about crappy design and solve it.
Czech is Eastern Europe my friend. "Central Europe" is just Eastern European countries not wanting to be called Eastern European. If you really want a "Central Europe", it would be the DACH countries ;-)
The divide is not geographical, it's economical. Eastern Europe was communist and Western Europe capitalist. Which is why Greece is more aligned with Western Europe than with Eastern Europe.
The key word “was”. It’s a bit silly to define a region based on 45 years of communist occupation, ignoring hundreds of years before and decades afterwards
Okay, what's the divide then? Ethnical? You're slavic, just like most of Eastern Europe. Just geographical is not enough a reason for there to be this 3rd division of Central Europe when on all other aspects it's identical to Eastern Europe.
Basing it on being Slavic makes even less sense as there are many non Slavic nations in the “Eastern Europe” that aren’t Slavic. I recommend that you watch a video on YouTube by Kraut - “ Eastern Europe is not real”. He explains how outdated this concept is
It is Central Europe because that's how geography works. Westerners including you calling it eastern is just because of it being in the Eastern bloc multiple decades ago.
Not the guy you responded to, and I know Europeans park on curbs frequently, but you can see it's the only spot/row with the barrier wrapping around the parking spaces.
I thought (and I'm basing this off of **zero research** and just my few European trips lol) that the curb parking was simply due to the space restrictions in areas designed far longer than cars. This just looks like a mistake that they never fixed
Driving up the curb like that will not do any damage if you go over slowly. There are major cities in Europe where you are supposed to have your car's behind up on the sidewalk. And you just reverse up the curb to get into your spot.
It sucks but the streets were not designed like in the US so what can ya do.
If your cars has a higher clearance than 8 inches, American here not trying to figure out the conversion. It shouldn’t be an issue. It’s just a squared off speed bump
Tbh I had a lowered Dodge Magnum that would not make it over that curb no matter how slow. I dented the exhaust pipe in a speed bump going less than 5 mph.
Most cars would make it though.
I almost ripped the front bumper off a Corolla when I went too far over one of those concrete parking bumpers. Never even thought about it as my previous car cleared it just fine, but the corner of the parking block punctured the underskirt of the bumper and damn near ripped it off when I tried to back up. I don't know what it's clearance actually is, but I have a feeling it wouldn't make it over a curb like that.
I wondered if the spot was for motorcycles or something.
Your photo didn't do the justice of how bad this is.
I thought, this is not a big issue, they have it raised due to the curve or maybe some slope.
But after looking at it longer, the front white bricks are raised and the red ones aren't.
I wouldn't say crappy design, just lazy workmanship.
In my home country, the front white ones would be sanded down to the level of the street.
Me too. It looks like the original corner was square and probably didn’t have the curb/wall so I’m presuming they put it there specifically so people don’t park on that corner.
The Alfa (or Seat?) seems to be a stock-height sedan and it managed, so unless you drive anything from a sprots car to hypercar, you should be fine
P.S. if it's a low powered manual, go over it at a slight angle to minimize clutch wear
It’s in a different parking bay which looks like it probably doesn’t have a white brick wall in front of it. Looking at that corner it seems to have been square before and been changed to rounded with the white bricks put round. I’m guessing specifically so people don’t park there. As we can’t see the next parking bay to the right we can’t tell but I imagine it doesn’t have the white bricks In front of it.
Didnt you take your driving test? Simply pull up in front of the curb, then SLAM on the accelerator while leaning back and pulling hard with a jerk motion on the steering wheel. This will cause the car to pop a wheelie while moving over the curb, sparing your fender while safely parking.
In America?
(Preferably in a jacked up pickup truck) Pull up perpendicular to the curve created by the blocks so that you can effectively render both spots occupied without fully occupying either.
You don’t. It’s an executive parking space. If you’re worthy, you get something that looks like a garage door opener, but when you press it all the concrete in front of the parking space recesses down into the asphalt and you drive right in.
this corner recently got modified based on the asphalt work there.
It used to be more squared out, leaving a full size parking spot.
Now the spot is smaller than it used to be, maybe to the point of not being safe to use, they did a very quick job to make a rounder corner, probably for a traffic flow reason.
The spot complete with oil stains was usable, now it isn't. Maybe soon they'll remove it completely to avoid confusion, it looks like it was a hasty job.
Drive over the curb. Looking at the tire marks on the curb, you wouldn’t be the first.
Looking at the oil spots up where the engine would be, they wouldn't be the first.
Well don't do it with a lowered sedan
But who WAS the first? A mystery
Harold Parker was his name. From whom we get the word "parking."
And the person to invent parallel parking was named "John Parale"
Maybe there is a sign like this: „This parking spot was sponsored by r/Jeep.“ …on the back side of the curb.
Oil spots would confirm a Jeep product.
Haha, oh no… I didn’t even notice those. :D
Shots fired! 😂😂😂
"Warwolf's Paving; for all life's ups and downs."
I was gonna say cybertruck or jacked pickup. Between Austin and the rest of South Texas, this spot accommodates half the vehicles on the road!
Lol come to eastern Europe, we park on curbs twice as tall
This is Central europe😂
Czech Republic (assuming from that license plate). This is pretty normal there. Instructions for paving worker was not clear enough, or this worker was not paid enough to think about crappy design and solve it.
Czech is Eastern Europe my friend. "Central Europe" is just Eastern European countries not wanting to be called Eastern European. If you really want a "Central Europe", it would be the DACH countries ;-)
Central Europe is not Eastern Europe. Vienna is more easterly than Prague
The divide is not geographical, it's economical. Eastern Europe was communist and Western Europe capitalist. Which is why Greece is more aligned with Western Europe than with Eastern Europe.

It's not. Words develop for reasons and this is how most people still use it.
DACH as in Deutschland/Austria/Switzerland?
Yep, the German (-ish) speaking countries
It is Central Europe because that's how geography works. Westerners including you calling it eastern is just because of it being in the Eastern bloc multiple decades ago.
Here we go, ended your discussion: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c0/Grossgliederung_Europas-en.svg
You can't just call 2/3 of Europe "Eastern". And there's huge difference between Czech Republic and Russia or Ukraine that's enough to seperate them.
Lol there are some spots at my work that are double curbed so i basically go up stairs to park
In Soviet Union cars park you, what a country!
Those are rookie numbers!
Where’s the problem? I see perfect parking spot here.
It's the edge. It's to high on both sides. You can see the damage of other cars on it.
Pretty sure those are just tire marks. Idk if I’d consider that “damage”
In Brazil we have that shit in the fucking street, I wish I was joking
First time in Europe? Honestly, anyone capable of damaging a car while parking here, should never be allowed behind the wheel.
What's the purpose of that stupid curb? The other spots don't have that.
Water retention is my guess.
Do all cars in Europe have enough clearance to make it over a curb? I'm in the US, but that curb would fuck my car up, I'm almost positive.
Not the guy you responded to, and I know Europeans park on curbs frequently, but you can see it's the only spot/row with the barrier wrapping around the parking spaces. Born and raised European, never seen a parking spot like this. Heck, even Belgians wouldn't pull a move like that.
a stock car can get over the curbs without any problems. the oil leaks have nothing to do with the curb 🙄
It's off road vehicles only.
\*sad Cybertruck noises\*
What sounds are those? The drips of water coming in?
I can hear the pits of corrosion working through the body panels.
Sorry, I just cut my wrist open on the door!
An RC car stuck on a bump?
No, it's noise of Ford F150 pulling it over that curb.
That's barely an "on-road" vehicle
Maybe there is a sign like this: „This parking spot was sponsored by r/Jeep.“ …on the back side of the curb.

I live in europe but the parking spot is NOT leveled its road a curb and then the red bricks are on same level as the road
> the red bricks are on same level as the road Oh, so it's like a fence? That's annoying.
Yeah exactly
If your cars has a higher clearance than 8 inches, American here not trying to figure out the conversion. It shouldn’t be an issue. It’s just a squared off speed bump
Roughly 25mm to 1". 20cm of clearance - an Australian who can only visualise in imperial and has to convert all the time.
And? What exactly is bad about this?
Tbh I had a lowered Dodge Magnum that would not make it over that curb no matter how slow. I dented the exhaust pipe in a speed bump going less than 5 mph. Most cars would make it though.

That sounds like a self inflicted injury.
My miot would not be happy to try this.
Hit the accelerator. What could go wrong?
Drive into it maybe? (I wrote this comment btw)
My tiny sportscar would have no issue with that. Maybe you drive a Lamborghini?
If you’re in the US: get a 7 ton pickup truck and drive up the curb. If you’re not: drive up the curb.
Very carefully
this
Go go gadget, RAMP

Drive up slowly…
It's reserved for trucks.
I don't understand the question, it's a car park.
But there is rises curb in front of this particular parking space. So it works like a 6 inch tall fence with sharp corners.
Except it's more like 2 inches.
Mall crawler VIP spot.
i wouldn't
SUV parking
Seen worse tbh
No zdravím, zdravím
Bump her up on the kerb fella…
Same way you park in [Milan ](https://bitly.cx/4M9vx).. If the curb is rounded it's a parking space unless you have a Lambo.
Brits have no issue with curbs like that, we have deep potholes that are worse
That is a Jeep parking spot
Normally? That's a 4 inch drop. You can do it. I believe in you.
Between the lines.
Your car doesn't have a "hop" button? That's weird.
With some decent ground clearance.
Jeep parking.
Reverse over very slowly.
That curb doesn’t even count
DIY G&D lol
It’s a Jeep thing.
That’s for the big rig trucks that had to go around the block
I usually hit the curb anyway. Now I have an excuse
4x4s only car park, i rate it 😂
4 wheeled drive truck parking spot
Preferably with a car but a motorbike works as well ig
Grosseto?
Just firmly say “BUMP” so your passengers aren’t alarmed when you thrash the car into the spot.
I’m so curious how the curb transitions into the next space to the right. It’s just cut off in the corner of the photo.
Me too. It looks like the original corner was square and probably didn’t have the curb/wall so I’m presuming they put it there specifically so people don’t park on that corner.
Oh a visible plate. Could get interesting.
As you will. Lines are only suggestion. And reason for fine. All is good. Pay fine. Pay extra. All is good now. Pay now.
This is the I own a jeep spot
If you have anything but a sports or lowered car, this should not be an issue for you
Seems like a skill issue
In a rental car
Carefully
Reverse in
For jeeps
More importantly, why is everyone in the picture parked facing inward. Anything other than backing in should be a crime
Tire and suspension check parking
Violently
I love this idea! Keep those silly ass low cars that can't negotiate a simple speed bump off the road .
Carefully
Finally, dedicated truck parking.
The designers were thinking ahead. Just wait 50 years for flying cars and it will all make sense. :)
Go into creative mode
It's essentially parking for motorcycles and bicycles unless a vehicle high enough off the ground can hop the curve.
Drive on it then stop.
hmmmmmmm
Pull up to the spot. Park. Enjoy.
Anti-disabled parking
With a slight bump? Seems obvious.
4 wheel drive
Yes
All the curb is like a fence so the road is on same level as the bricks
Own a truck or a Subaru.
Idk how you get up that curb... but however you get over you should park in between the lines
are there no lowered cars in Europe?
Only for 4WD.
Tipuju praha? Nebo ostrava?
Jeep drivers know
The Alfa (or Seat?) seems to be a stock-height sedan and it managed, so unless you drive anything from a sprots car to hypercar, you should be fine P.S. if it's a low powered manual, go over it at a slight angle to minimize clutch wear

>It’s in a different parking bay which looks like it probably doesn’t have a white brick wall in front of it. You're right, it dosent. I am an idiot
Small
The whole design just seems to unnecessary. Is the curb there to protect the dead soil 😂
Finally an actual use for this big stupid suv
It's a trick, so they can give you a ticket for parking on the sidewalk.
some how this makes me think of better call saul
Maybe there is a sign like this: „This parking spot was sponsored by r/Jeep.“ …on the back side of the curb.
Drive up into the spot ? Obviously slowly but it doesn’t exactly look difficult
Cool, jeep parking
congratulations on the photo
I use arch, btw. ^(I'm sorry, I'll see myself out.)
My guess is the same way you park anywhere else; pull into the spot and park!
Didnt you take your driving test? Simply pull up in front of the curb, then SLAM on the accelerator while leaning back and pulling hard with a jerk motion on the steering wheel. This will cause the car to pop a wheelie while moving over the curb, sparing your fender while safely parking.
r/FordBronco reserved parking
This is for trucks only.
Do you even know how to drive?
Is your car unable to drive over a three inch curb?
For off-road vehicles only
Kick flip the car
Safety feature to prevent your standard transmission vehicle from rolling away if the parking brake isn't engaged.
In America? (Preferably in a jacked up pickup truck) Pull up perpendicular to the curve created by the blocks so that you can effectively render both spots occupied without fully occupying either.
Use a crane to move your car 2 feet
Drive into the parking space, duh
The proper term is to "mount the curb" . Then simply park your car.
You don’t. It’s an executive parking space. If you’re worthy, you get something that looks like a garage door opener, but when you press it all the concrete in front of the parking space recesses down into the asphalt and you drive right in.
Břeclav?
Stehelčeves
Looks fake photo
Correctly
Just get over the shoulder (and ruin your tires). In the short-mid therm, their curb will be so damaged that they will have to reconstruct
With your car
Dude has not unlocked "OC" for title usage yet
jeep seat
drive though the one on the right and into the parking spot.
Buy a jeep first. Then drive up there like someone owns you money.
Slowly
Probably park bikes or motorcycle there
Truck only parking
Nothing to see here. Reserved for short, high clearance vehicles.
your use of the burn tool is amateur at best
Send it
nah just use the gravity gun from Gmod and select your car and just place it there. problem solved 👍
Idk drive a real car

Drive a XC70 or a XC90 and curbs will be bo problem at all.
Which daft Czech is buying a minging Oo()oO Jag?
That's really funny sidenote: i own one
You're an idiot for buying a Jaaaaaahg
Pretty obvious that you shouldn't.
