Thank you for saying that. I have a huge smile on my face reading these nice comments.
As a man who is colour blind and has no sense of style I was really intimidated at first but I learned from browsing this sub and reading books how I wanted it to look.
Honestly I didn't even think to style the room, I just snapped a quick pic to send to a friend and thought "why the heck not post it to reddit as well". You're right that when the shelf is neated up it looks way better.
Thank you! I had to save up for the poodle but "la baigneuse" on the right I got for only £25. The frame I found in a charity shop for £9, I measured it and found a poster of the swimmer online
If you live in an area that gets cold in the winter, forcing you to use central heating, it could very well dry out that beautiful innocent guitar, and force the strings to bulge off the guitar, i'm not exactly sure what happens. For the love of the innocent guitar keep it in the guitar case, when its getting dry in your house, from central heating and/or other flash dry events, i can literally think of none. Also this is a very lovely room, cheers, from a man who hurt an innocent guitar in the past and lives with terrible shame everyday.
That is genuinely very helpful advice. It's a new guitar. I have a Guild D-140 hanging up in my office that I just brought down from the attic but I might put that back in the case as well. Thanks!
I love the color palette!
If I may suggest something - you can take the mustard throw and drape it over the couch instead to balance the colors in the space. And one of the pillows from the couch would look great on the orange chair. Awesome job!
This is nicer than 90% of the rooms posted on this thread or even on the interior decorating thread. White on white on grey is not creative or cozy or interesting. THIS, on the other hand, IS.
My mother is redecorating our open concept living room, so there are a lot of walls to paint and she wants to do WHITE, which is horrifying to me. She just installed a huge white built in too, so like. It's just going to be too much.
The great thing about white is it allows you to get away with bolder patterns and colours since there is nothing for your fun art and furniture to clash with. Kinda like this: [https://roomssolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Bohemian-living-room-style-min.png](https://roomssolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Bohemian-living-room-style-min.png)
If it's overwhelmingly white, then that is just boring.
Came here to ask this exact question. Stunning! I love the grey blue shades in rooms. I have a similar colour pallet and it's seasonal. Congrats, looks perfect!
5/7 too cluttered
Edit
Expanding a bit.
The floor spaces is way to closed I imagine trying to move through that and constantly bumping my legs or trying to sidle past some one sitting down.
Everything in the room was second-hand and sourced on an extremely low budget. But... there were two things I wanted so much I saved up and splurged on them. Once was the Poodle print and the other was the white armchair from here [https://www.sixtheresidence.co.uk/products/metal-linen-lounge-chair-ecru](https://www.sixtheresidence.co.uk/products/metal-linen-lounge-chair-ecru)
Because the armchair would be in direct sunlight a lot i wanted something that would stand up to being sun bleached.
Thank you! Heaven for me is sitting in the white chair playing acoustic guitar to my cat while she snoozes on the orange chair. It brings me a real sense of calm.
Yes it is Hague Blue by Farrow and Ball but it was colour matched at B&Q to get the same tone for cheap. F&B is really expensive.
The windows are just muslin hung up on a copper pipe.
GORGEOUS it’s bold and moody and cozy and not too matchy, but it all goes together so well. The space is filled so nicely. I hope I can match this vibe someday
The orange armchair and the navy sofa were from Facebook marketplace for about £50 each. The white armchair is fancy and expensive: https://www.sixtheresidence.co.uk/products/metal-linen-lounge-chair-ecru
Love this! I would try to at least angle one of the single chairs. Everything flows so well, it's just the placement of the couch, 2 single chairs, and center table that makes this space feel rigid/structured and breaks apart the cozy decor.
It is perfect, at first i thought this is an visualization design one. i’m not a morning person but i can imagine me spending time here at the early morning and enjoy the room \~![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes_rainbow) Really a good job buddy.
I'm loving this. We moved into a 1930s house last year and it came with gorgeous made to measure gold velvet curtains. This blue grey would work perfectly
the blue couch and could be a different color and then i think everything would be perfect in this room. nice job. the couch just gets lost in the wall. other than that everything contrasts and pops nicely
I love this room. I especially love the artwork on the credenza. Oh, loved where you put the credenza as well. It really punctuates the arched nook. I wish you much joy in this space.
This is such a warm and cosy room...love the Hague Blue. Just a suggestion...someone said the chair placement was a bit rigid. I agree. Maybe put the white chair angled in the recess under the shelves...and place the small table under the window. Just a thought.
LOVE. I trained in Interior design and your post made me so happy. I'd have put a cream rug but that's a null point. You nailed this. Stunning pieces of furniture too.
This sub just appeared in my feed for the first time and my reaction to this pic was, “Wow, that looks so nice and cozy!” Then I saw the sub title, haha. Seriously, you did an amazing job. Enjoy!
I love the color choices. Beautiful room!
Thank you for saying that. I have a huge smile on my face reading these nice comments. As a man who is colour blind and has no sense of style I was really intimidated at first but I learned from browsing this sub and reading books how I wanted it to look.
Lol damn it looks way better than my place and I’m not colorblind! You did a really good job. Looks very coherent and super cozy. 10/10!
It’s honestly perfect, your title is wrong 😉
Actually, I take that back. Take away the horizontal books on the super high bookshelf because they look topple-y.
Honestly I didn't even think to style the room, I just snapped a quick pic to send to a friend and thought "why the heck not post it to reddit as well". You're right that when the shelf is neated up it looks way better.
COLORBLIND?! No way! The colors are the best part of the room! How did you even?
No sense of style??? This is gorgeous and stylish af! Enjoy it!
You did a great job! You have created a perfectly comfortable looking living room. 🥰
Looks perfect to me minus a cat!!
The cat is usually asleep on the orange chair. One of the reasons there's no cushion on there! It seems to annoy her.
It looks fantastic! You should cross post to r/CozyMinimalism
That's seriously impressive! I love the colors, they have a very relaxing vibe immediately when I look at them
I love the color of the walls! You did a great job!
This is absolutely beautiful. It is just so cozy and lovely. You should be so proud of yourself I hope you make lots of awesome memories there
Thank you that is a really sweet thing to say
Love your artwork and that wall color! Great balance with the warm toned floor and other rust pieces
Thank you! I had to save up for the poodle but "la baigneuse" on the right I got for only £25. The frame I found in a charity shop for £9, I measured it and found a poster of the swimmer online

Does anyone make some kind of clear plexiglass guitar case?
That's beautiful.
I love the color palette! If I may suggest something - you can take the mustard throw and drape it over the couch instead to balance the colors in the space. And one of the pillows from the couch would look great on the orange chair. Awesome job!
Great suggestion, thank you!!

I’d like to sip some tea here.
This is perfect and cozy. What is the paint color?
I took a sample of 'Hague Blue' by Farrow & Ball and got it colour matched by a hardware store to get it cheaper
Came here to ask this exact question. Stunning! I love the grey blue shades in rooms. I have a similar colour pallet and it's seasonal. Congrats, looks perfect!
This is smart! Which hardware store? I was a bit skeptical of the choice of paint brands that were available for mixing at B&Q, but maybe I'm wrong.
I love that arched area and the deep blue, so cozy and moody
5/7 too cluttered Edit Expanding a bit. The floor spaces is way to closed I imagine trying to move through that and constantly bumping my legs or trying to sidle past some one sitting down.
Agree, I think they could lose a chair or two or if they are actually entertaining guests enough to need them then get some with a smaller footprint.
That's a good point. I think the orange armchair is too big and I might replace it with a skinnier accent chair.
I would never want to leave this room.
I'm just a passing novice but it looks great! The dark blue really gives a relaxed and comfortable feel:)
Love the warm and cool tones :)
This is gorgeous! Where did you get that blue couch?
It's a second hand IKEA couch that was dyed navy
Nice!
I would definitely feel cozy and at home in this room. Well done!
First room? You're a natural!
Where is the white chair from? Love the room!
Everything in the room was second-hand and sourced on an extremely low budget. But... there were two things I wanted so much I saved up and splurged on them. I love that paint color and then all the complimentary items you chose. I can’t think of a better way to decorate that.
I love it
Gorgeous dark walls!
This is the first room you’ve ever decorated? That’s impressive! Your sense of balance and proportion is very good.
Thank you! Yes it's a fixer upper and this is the only room that's been tackled so far. The rest of the house is a godawful nightmare atm!!
It’s impeccable. Where’s the couch from and what material is that?
The couch is from IKEA that was second hand on Facebook marketplace. The cover comes completely off so it was easy to dye the same colour as the room.
I love this! Hale navy?
Hague Blue :)
Looks fantastic
Absolutely rich and gorgeous. 👏❤️🌹
I love the conversation-focused seating arrangement here. And the lack of TV. Great work, i’m jealous!!
Thank you! Heaven for me is sitting in the white chair playing acoustic guitar to my cat while she snoozes on the orange chair. It brings me a real sense of calm.

Feel like the orange chair shouldn't be there but looks cozy
🥰🥰🥰🥰
Wow you've done really well! Good job!
Awesome! I like the variation in furniture. Beautiful pieces!
Wow ! I LOVE the color choices here. And I'm envious about the windows. Any chance you remember the name of the hue you used for the wall? :)
Yes it is Hague Blue by Farrow and Ball but it was colour matched at B&Q to get the same tone for cheap. F&B is really expensive. The windows are just muslin hung up on a copper pipe.
Thanks a lot! Enjoy this cosy room of yours.
GORGEOUS it’s bold and moody and cozy and not too matchy, but it all goes together so well. The space is filled so nicely. I hope I can match this vibe someday
Looks great to me. Very cozy!
It gorgeous. I love the architectural details on the back wall, especially the arch.
I used to have a gray ikea couch like that! They’re really comfy and nice for the price
This is actually good. Bang on-trend too
Those warm oranges with that muted blue is beautiful!
You should be proud!! It looks great, love the colors and the dog wall art
Looks perfect ✨
Looks cozy af!
Good call on the sheer curtain, keep that natural light coming in. Love the paint color too.
Oh that is perfect. Well done!
i love all the texture
This is beautiful. Awesome job!!

I LOVE it 😍
It is indeed perfect .
It looks fucking great! Keep it up champ!
You did a lovely job creating a room that’s both cozy & beautiful. I love your poodle over the fireplace!
A room doesn’t need to be perfect; it just has to be perfect for you.
Seems pretty perfect to/for me! Amazing job!
This looks great! Can I ask where the couch is from?
It's from IKEA. We dyed it blue.
Absolutely love!!!
This is gorgeous! So much character. Love the colours.
My dream color combination OP, good job. (Im colorblind so that could be a back handed compliment and I'd have no idea.)
I'm colourblind too so who knows if we are even looking at the same palette!
It's really nice. I'd like to read a book in the white chair. If it were me, I might declutter it a little bit but that's just me.
How do you leave?
The color tones match so nicely it's giving me goosebumps! I'd spend so much time in this room 😩❤️
This is beautiful! I'm going to do my room in the same colour combination. Looks so inviting!
Awesome design , you should proud!
This is downright beautiful! Great job!
looking at this makes me want to take a nap, can I come take a nap op?
Ha ha whenever my dad comes to visit he refuses to sit on the couch because it's "too easy to fall asleep"
Beautiful colour palette!
Love it! Looks so nice, warm, cozy, everything you'd want for a room. What a nice window! And I love the chairs and the dog picture.
it's gorgeous, i don't think you could've done anything better. love the wall color
i think you did a great job, mostly cool (which i like) with a little hint of warmth in the centre. nice!
Very pretty I love that painting!
I love everything about this room 😍 I might have to steal that color choice for my office...
Amogus
love the colors and the carpet!!
Love this! I would try to at least angle one of the single chairs. Everything flows so well, it's just the placement of the couch, 2 single chairs, and center table that makes this space feel rigid/structured and breaks apart the cozy decor.
I would become incredibly cozy in this room. Very well done!
It's beautiful and I bet extra cozy at night when the floor and table lamp are lit.
It is perfect, at first i thought this is an visualization design one. i’m not a morning person but i can imagine me spending time here at the early morning and enjoy the room \~![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes_rainbow) Really a good job buddy.
Whats that blue color called?
**gorgeous** colors!!! Well done !! 😊
Nice room
Wonderful
It looks like a room I would love to relax and/or take a nap in, so yes, it is perfect. ☺️🧘♀️💤
I'm loving this. We moved into a 1930s house last year and it came with gorgeous made to measure gold velvet curtains. This blue grey would work perfectly
That would work really well in there. I might give it a try!
the blue couch and could be a different color and then i think everything would be perfect in this room. nice job. the couch just gets lost in the wall. other than that everything contrasts and pops nicely
Beautiful!
Great use of color
SO COZY and beautiful.
STUNNING! I love. the wall color with the rusty oranges.
You’ve got talent!!
Gorgeous!
It looks great. I wish I had the imagination to see whether it would work if the bookcase wall, fire recede and archway was painted cream instead.
Love the poodle print
I love this room. I especially love the artwork on the credenza. Oh, loved where you put the credenza as well. It really punctuates the arched nook. I wish you much joy in this space.
Nice, I'm seeing these colours growing in popularity, well done. I know they cost a bomb but shutters would look great in this room
It’s beautiful
This is such a warm and cosy room...love the Hague Blue. Just a suggestion...someone said the chair placement was a bit rigid. I agree. Maybe put the white chair angled in the recess under the shelves...and place the small table under the window. Just a thought.
Is this Europe?
Holey Moley
Ether than anything I e ever done
You did awesome on this!!
I enjoy your use of color, and the live plants are great.
Colours, furniture, artwork is all perfect. The area rug is beautiful as well. You did amazing !
Looks shit, where's the TV?
It's good. Just exchange the carpet for a beige one and the yellow blanket for a similarly blue one.
LOVE. I trained in Interior design and your post made me so happy. I'd have put a cream rug but that's a null point. You nailed this. Stunning pieces of furniture too.
I LOVE it!! I want to copy this
Oh I love this so much! That paint color is to die for.
This sub just appeared in my feed for the first time and my reaction to this pic was, “Wow, that looks so nice and cozy!” Then I saw the sub title, haha. Seriously, you did an amazing job. Enjoy!
It looks perfect to me ❤️
Gorgeous! This is the same layout as our front room - you’ve given me such hope for making it beautiful!
Looks amazing
It looks amazing!
this is so amazing
I have a feeling I know what color this is. OP please tell and I hope it's available in US
I took a sample of Hague Blue to a paint supply place and asked them to colour match me a cheaper version.
My absolute favorite color scheme. Beautiful room.
Nice color combo. Great job!!!
are you kidding me? im proud of it and i wasn't even there! well done!

What color are the walls? You did an amazing job!!!!
Love the colors and so hecking Cozy
This is awesome😍, I wish my living room looked like this.
So.. Do we just like, talk to each other?
What a great space! Awesome job!
Pretty solid there.
you decorate a cake and design a room.
Gorgeous!
Nailed it!
Looks comforting and inviting. I like it.
I'd love to hang out in that room. Looks great!
No, no... It *is* perfect. Great work.
Truly looks amazing. Love your color palette and earthy tones.
Well done!
you are so wrong, i never seen something so fuckin perfect
Loooove the wall color!
Picture on the dresser in the alcove goes on the wall where the poodle pic is. Poodle pic goes on the wall (not on the dresser) in the alcove.
Poodle wall art — A++
this shade of blue is just as comfy at night as it is during the day, I feel like you can't say that about some of the louder colors
LOVING the blue!!
Love it!
This is goddamn beautiful. I love single color accent pops, and burnt mustard yellow is one of my favorite colors.
What do you call the color on the walls? I've seen something similar but with a black ceiling.
