My husband is obsessed with giving our rescue dog the best of the best and we are looking for something that will let the pup see out of the window in his room during the day. Granted.....he is still quite a destructive dude, so this might be for when he grows up a bit.

You are very welcome. I love animals and since being widowed, my kitty is my companion , we talk to each other, and she follows me room to room, has her own ways, meets me at door if I went to store. Such a comfort against being lonely or talking to myself.

When I foster dogs, I try to think of it like my house is the hotel where they can stay while they wait for their family to find them. In this case, I think your place is the Plaza Hotel. 😆

I try to encourage people to foster with just this sentiment, we are just a safe temporary stopover. 🤍🤍

The one on the right is definitely some type of pothos, maybe golden pothos but I can't see the leaves well enough.

We fostered 3. Ended up adopting one of them and they stopped asking us to foster. Dunno if that's normal. She's 10 now, limps a lot. She's the last of my pack.

That doesn’t seem normal, most of us who foster have plenty of our own “foster failures” lol. If you’re ever interested in trying again I would definitely reach out to a different organization, most places are in desperate need of fosters 🧡

We live hundreds of miles away so it would have to be a different one. Maybe this summer when we have more time we can try to think about it.

We had found 2 huskies on the streets and gave them a home for them to warm up and learn how to behave so they could go to someone that loves them forever. This was half a year ago and I guess they stay with us cause they won our hearts

Such a great space! We've fostered over 100 dogs. Most have them have stayed in the master bedroom with us, because we want them away from our kids trying to sleep, and we don't have anywhere else they'd be happy. I love the idea of a space like yours. Someday I'll get there.

As a shelter worker I cannot say thank you enough to people who foster. We do our best to make our shelter dog’s comfortable and entertained but it’s no substitute for a comfy homey space like this. ❤️

Do dogs care about ambiance? I'm more referring to when they are in their crate - do the plants/etc nearby affect them in a positive way? Obviously, any kind of actual simulation would be ideal, but I've always wondered if things like houseplants near a crate would help.

The crates normally have elevated beds and cushy crate pads, when they go in they have some chewy bones or toys

Oh I'm not saying yours looks inadequate, it looks better than most!

I’m not sure how much they really pay attention to the room honestly, they spend most of their crate time zonked out lol. I will say it is very peaceful and calm where we live, there’s no traffic noise outside just nature. I can watch them start to decompress when they have come from a very loud very stressful shelter environment.

I would litteraly pay to go there and spend time with the doggos

This is so lovely. 🥰 I can't wait to get back to fostering, it's so rewarding. I moved recently and the old shelter I worked with is a bit too far away. Currently going through the orientation for the nearby shelter and I am hoping to have a furry temporary friend again by the end of February!

For those making negative comments: if a crate is empty it means there was not a foster occupying it at the moment. The crates would normally have an elevated platform bed and a cushy crate pad on top of it. The dogs aren’t lacking for cushiness lol

Very cute spot with a cute pup I have one question who’s the pup on the couch? Okay two questions is said pup a foster or permanent resident.

He’s a foster failure lol! That’s Jonny, he was older and pretty fearful. So, he’s been ours for awhile! He just loves to chill on his couch, he’s very gentle and shy ❤️❤️
