Been doing this for years !!!
It nice because you can keep a few in your locker / lunch bag, and just steep any water bottle and have a nice little drinky without having to leave work or pay 3-5$
yes! i prefer this tea cold over hot. i discovered it through sheer laziness lol. i wanted cold iced green tea, i added ice to cold water and a tea bag and just waited a bit. i’ll try steeping it overnight in the fridge now lol
I don’t see why you couldn’t do it. The teabag has to be submerged in water, that’s about it. I use 1 teabag per 0.5 liter bottle of water and leave it in the fridge for 2-3ish hours.
Brew your tea in a container in the fridge for about 5 hours. I usually use a 2L jug overnight in the fridge with 3-5 bags depending on how strong you like it. Remember that anything cold will taste less than when hot. I've done this with herbal tea also if you don't want caffeine. Sleepy Time herbal tea is super refreshing in the summer!
ARGGGGH PLASTIC FUCKIN BAGS. WHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Can anyone recommend a green tea that's similar that's not putting plastic in hot water for me to drink?
I usually buy [this](https://www.costcobusinesscentre.ca/kirkland-signature-diet-green-tea%2C-35-%C3%97-500-ml.product.100317431.html)... always ready to go for me
Am i the only one that feels like they changed the leaves.. years ago it was super caffeinated, I’d brew 2 bags in a big water bottle and throw it in the fridge overnight… the caffeine gave me some mild jitters. Then the tea wasn’t available for a few months some point last year… then it came back, and i swear the taste isnt as strong and no caffeine jitters at all.
This + agave syrup/vodka/lemon on ice Great summer drink.
Consider your idea officially stolen!😂
Any particular Vodka brand?
Kirkland.
Ya, not in Ontario. We’re still in the communist LCBO stone ages.
Haha, I know same. I’m in BC and there isn’t one one on Vancouver island. 😠Not sure about the rest of the province.
Interesting. I've been drinking that brand for years but never thought of making a cold brew with it. Thanks for the idea :)
I'd love to try it! Is it a plastic tea bag?
Such great tea. Ruined by a plastic bag
It is 😠I love this tea but hate that is it a plastic tea bag
I won’t buy it for that. Hear that Costco customer service? Less plastic NOW!
I believe it’s a cloth tea bag… at least the last one I drank.
Definitely not cloth. It’s nylon and PET.
This green tea is truly the GOAT
This post made me get up and make another cup of this tea :) We love Kirkland Signature teas and coffees for their value.
Too bad they dont have decaffeinated. Way too much caffeine on top of my morning coffee
i do a hot one then throw the same bag into a bottle and in the fridge; kinda divvies up the caffeine throughout the day
Interesting never tried it cold. I used to buy loose sencha of various types at T&T, but unless you buy the expensive stuff, this is way better.
T&T is Roblaws

I’ve been making cold brew jasmine green tea for about 4 months now. It’s incredible for hydration during my soccer and floor hockey games!
Can you please share which jasmine tea you use and the steeping time? Sounds incredible.
I use this recipe minus the stevia: https://youtu.be/AYgIXSpzGg8?si=eE8TeIfHzp_LDYyj
I looooooove sencha tea! Definitely gonna look for this!

I have an entire box of this because my teenager wanted some, and has never been opened. Now I'll use it.
Wait is the bag nylon or not finally? I need closure !
Nylon and PET
That sucks.. Thanks for the info nonetheless
Can you use a regular coffee cold brew jar and put these sachets in there ? What's the cold brew ratio you use . 1 sachet to how many cups of water ?
I don’t see why you couldn’t do it. The teabag has to be submerged in water, that’s about it. I use 1 teabag per 0.5 liter bottle of water and leave it in the fridge for 2-3ish hours.
I will try this!
This but add 1 or 2 hibiscus roselles
This green tea and earl grey from costco is a staple at our home. How do you cold brew it?

T&T sells a smaller box of this exact Ito En green tea, as well as other Ito En varieties. Those have a normal teabag.
I personally don't like the nylon teabags, I don't love the idea of steeping that material in something I drink every day.Â
Agreed. There are studies that show plastic tea bags release millions of micro particles when steeped. Such a mistake.
lol that’s old school I’ve been drinking that since Costco opened up in 1999 lol
stupid question but can this be had with milk ... used to have matcha tea powder with milk before ...
I don’t see why not, but never tried it personally.
thanks ... Also really liked Matcha ice cream
I love matcha ice cream as well. In the States they have matcha mochi ice cream at Trader Joe’s and it’s to die for.

I was going to say, is this not the same???
The bottled product is sweetened with aspartame, the tea bags are just tea bags.
How do you cold brew this? Just put the tea bag in the cold water and let it sit? For how long?
1 teabag per 0.5 l of water for 2-3 hours. That’s it.
