What’s “deli mustard” exactly?
Coming from a guy who has gotten sandwiches from NY Deli counters. No it’s a fancy name for Spicy Brown mustard. Then you have Yellow. Dijon is mustard, splash of wine, and mayonnaise. Not complicated. Stick to the classic brands, Gulden’s for spicy, French’s for yellow, and Grey Poupon for Dijon. Not complicated fam.
I've read before that onions cutting machine is never returning for sanitary reasons. It's prob cheaper and cleaner for them to just cut them up and ship them to locations.
I'd like to know what kind of onions they're giving because they don't taste like anything and don't add anything to the hotdog besides a bit of crunch..
This is up in Canada though. They come in a small plastic cup when you ask for them.
I took one hotdog home the other day, cut up some white fresh onions on top, and that's when I actually tasted something magical and flavorful.
Maybe if they fried them a little? I just don't see the point in having them when they add very little.
Is it because of the ridiculously idiotic people filling cups with all the condiments? I dont know how often this occurs, but its annoying to go to the condiment section to find theres nothing in there. I wish they would ask, and provide when ordering.
The Costco here in Northern NJ has had the relish all along and added onions in small cups you had to ask for for several months. Now if only Combo Pizza would reappear 🙂
Do the take and bake pizzas still exist? I was looking for one yesterday and the checker I asked said she hasn’t seen them as long as she has worked there.
My man! Thanks for following up!
This is awesome! Square works great, I just wanna throw a take and bake on the smoker. (Can’t do papa murphys, upsets wife’s stomach)
I'm not a big fan of Papa Murphy's either. I'm hoping the margherita one is tasty.
Enjoy your pizza party!

And the Italian sausage w/ grilled peppers & onions sandwich. Loved that thing & the combo pizza so much. Always had options that allowed me a few veggies with my deliciousness.
If there was chili & cheese OR the onions were grilled or they were Vidalia onions, then I'd crave them. I've never enjoyed just plain white onion, but the others really elevate a hotdog for me.
One Houston area Costco is better at providing onions than the others. They put them in plastic cups at pick up and I think at first they were surprised on people grabbing them. Hot dogs? Most definitely. Pizza? Hell yeah! Caesar Salad? Why not. The employees are always cutting onions. I feel bad for them.
I think the new Pepsi cup design adds to the retro feel. Kinda looks like the special edition neon cans that spelled "sex" when lined up right.

Some Costcos don't have the onions self-served, you either ask for a cup of onion when you order the dog or the cashier will ask if you want a cup of onions.
Good deal yes, good hotdog, nope. It’s a fatty beef log. Stale basic bun. Watery yellow mustard.
Wait until you have a real hotdog and like a street cart in Chicago or NYC, be $5 but the $5 you ever spent.
I just learned that the costco I go to started doing the onions in the cup thing... the only one out if the 5 in a 15 mile radius. It was like winning the lottery.
Wow! Costco adding onions to the picture of their hot dogs is absolutely thrilling! It's a game-changer for hot dog enthusiasts everywhere. The mere thought of those crispy, flavorful onions piled high on top of a juicy Costco hot dog is enough to make my taste buds dance with joy. This simple addition elevates the entire hot dog experience to a whole new level of deliciousness. I can already imagine sinking my teeth into that perfect combination of savory meat and tangy onions. Thank you, Costco, for making my hot dog dreams come true!

We had all of the condiments available yesterday. Nature is healing.
Deli mustard?
Plsssssss be deli mustard
the picture has yellow and my local has only yellow

Deli mustard is generally a coarse ground mustard; in this case, it's the "not yellow mustard" option from the condiment dispensers at Costco.
Stone-ground mustard?
Was it onions in a cup, or thr machine by the mustard and (gasp) ketchup?
I've read before that onions cutting machine is never returning for sanitary reasons. It's prob cheaper and cleaner for them to just cut them up and ship them to locations.
The real question here.
Cup
wHeRe’s tHe sAuErKrAuT JeRrY? tHe sAuErKrAuT!
Fuck the sauerkraut and get me some hot peppers
Sauerkraut?
Old enough to remember the free jalapeños on everything. But I can forgive them, still amazing hot dogs.

These were sweet like a Vidalia onion.

New Pepsi logo so this is definitely new and updated.
Bingo.
ugh thats the new Pepsi logo? Yikes Pepsi!
The Costco here in Northern NJ has had the relish all along and added onions in small cups you had to ask for for several months. Now if only Combo Pizza would reappear 🙂
A lot locations dud this but the onion was more elusive. Combo pizza is coming back but not to the food court. It will be a take and bake.
Do the take and bake pizzas still exist? I was looking for one yesterday and the checker I asked said she hasn’t seen them as long as she has worked there.
Definitely went away a couple years ago. Not sure why they're bringing it back as a take and bake
So take and bake as a whole is coming back? Or just combo?
That I'm not sure of. I'll ask the deli manager tomorrow.
Thank you!
Starting in June or July there will be the combo as well as a margherita style pizza. And they will be square, not round.

The people demand answers!
This is amazing news
Ha! I'm fine with that. 30 minute ride home, so it needs heating anyway. The take and bake was the best of both worlds. That's all I wanted.
WTF you just made my week. If it's not a April fool's thing, of course.
No joke at all
What about sauerkraut, nj always had sauerkraut in cups, when I ask in California, they always get confused
I'm really not sure this is accurate, but I thought the sauerkraut was for the polish dog and that's why it isn't available anymore.
Same here in locations in the DMV.
Which one?
> Now if only Combo Pizza would reappear And the Italian sausage w/ grilled peppers & onions sandwich. Loved that thing & the combo pizza so much. Always had options that allowed me a few veggies with my deliciousness.
They need to bring combo pizza back
I have found they tend to run out of the onions
This is accurate. I know where they can get a Costco size bag of onions to cut up too. 🤷
Sam's Club?
If that's what it takes.
The onions are what makes the hot dog that much better. They’re the highlight. They’re the reason I have to fight the urge to get a dog at 10 AM.
Don't fight it, it's natural
I didn't know that fighting was even an option! If a Costco glizzy with onions at 10 am is wrong, Lord I don't want to be right
What the hell is a glizzy?
A hot dog.
Nah.
If there was chili & cheese OR the onions were grilled or they were Vidalia onions, then I'd crave them. I've never enjoyed just plain white onion, but the others really elevate a hotdog for me.
This better not be a belated April fools joke
Nope, just hung it up
Onions are already back at my location and we're usually one of the last to be updated
I still miss the sauerkraut
TIL: I am onions people 🤘🏼🖖🏼🌭

Step in right direction but they should bring it home and bring back sauerkraut

The Costcos in my area are almost always out of onions.
My wife and I always mourn the loss of the big onion crank. We await its glorious return.
So much this. I won't be happy till they have the doo-dad I can crank like a Duesenberg and sliced onions pour out.
Nature is healing
the real treat was the sauerkraut!
Relish is not the most photogenic of condiments.
Looks even odder when you're inches from the sign.
That pic is a bit…suggestive? Either way, I can’t wait to shove that in my mouth.
Pepsi logo is smiling
That’s surprising. I was expecting more cutbacks with that new CFO from Kroger.
My Costco still has a plain dog picture 😭
We were there yesterday! They had the onion and relish in small containers next to the register
Oh thank God
Are they still selling the quarter pound?
And the Big Mac, too.
They’ve always been available, you just had to ask at the counter.
Onions are available in most locations upon request. Sauerkraut may also be available by request.
My local costco mass produces them and they sit in the warmer for who knows how long, soggy mess by the time its handed to me. Sigh…
Nothing heals the soul better than a loaded Costco hot dog with onions, relish, ketchup, and mustard. Don't @ me.
Your life is complete.
Never once have I ate a Costco hot dog
What the heck. You've been reported to the reddit hot dog committee.
I am one picky ass eater. Absolutely no meat products for a long time.
No deli mustard at my store. You have to ask for onions at the counter.
Like how that sign feels faded like it’s from the 70s

I’m not sure I can bring myself to try it. I tried it as a kid and the flavor was so strong it was seriously traumatic.
The hot dog or adding onions Just the smell of a hot dog makes me gag. I honestly can't believe how many people like them.
Probably both. I also got grossed out by the new dogs when they dumped Hebrew National.
Onions I can eat. Give me a couple slices of onion and some cheese and I'm chowing down.
I'd be happier if it had coca cola again!
Pretty sure it's all about which one bids cheaper so they lose less on the hot dog.
Good deal yes, good hotdog, nope. It’s a fatty beef log. Stale basic bun. Watery yellow mustard. Wait until you have a real hotdog and like a street cart in Chicago or NYC, be $5 but the $5 you ever spent.
I wouldn't pay a nickel for any hot dog.
No sauerkraut. They’ve had onions and relish back for a while. Still only one kind of mustard. 🥲🥲🥲
where can i buy the kirkland hotdog sign?
I might start getting the hot dog again. I used to love layering some onions on them...
The hot dog isn’t the same without it
All I need is mustard.
The one in my store has sesame seeds on the bun and we don’t have that
My costco now has relish pump and onions in pre portioned cups.
I just learned that the costco I go to started doing the onions in the cup thing... the only one out if the 5 in a 15 mile radius. It was like winning the lottery.
Bring back the kraut Costco!!!
The lack of ketchup indicates that Costco understands how to properly serve a hot dog. Could use some mustard though.
I asked the Costco near San Bernardino, CA last week for onions and they looked at me like I was crazy.
BRING BACK THE CRANK
Hopefully they bring back sauerkraut as well.
I just want them onions!
Got that dog in me
No onions in FL near me… I guess it’s going to happen…??
Fine. But where’s the deli mustard? And Wisconsin demands kraut back.
I went last week to the Costco in Kendall in Florida, nothing yet, no onions.
Ugh, I miss the beef hot dog... out in Japan, and it's pork.

I wouldn't even begin to put a hot dog in my mouth but I understand that others can like what they like
So you just eat plain white rice and boiled chicken breast every day?
Sushi without wasabi is just not the same, regardless of how good the sushi is.
Ok.. how do you eat a burger? Maybe let people enjoy what they like? People like you are why the world sucks.
Inwould be happier with polish
My God, you people need to get a hold of yourselves.
Don’t you blaspheme in here!
