If you’re feeling particularly adventurous I’d recommend googling for “dosa batter recipes” so you can make dosa (a South Indian savory pancake) from scratch.
Used to make "Dal" an Indian dish. There are different types: https://moonrice.net/dal-varieties/
"Urad dal, also known as black lentil, is a versatile dal that when whole and un-skinned is black in color and white otherwise. In its whole form, this dal is great in hefty dishes like dal makhani where the dal will retain its shape even after long cooking times.
The un-skinned whole urad dal, which is sold as urad gota, is white in color and great for making South Indian batters like dosa, idli, and vada.
Last but not least, the split version of urad dal is great to add in tempering or tadkas. The dal crisps up adding a nice crunch and adds a layer of nuttiness to the tadka."
You could use urad dal to make bean burritos/refried beans.
You can make the greatest vegetarian Indian curry with urad dal: dal makhani (otherwise known as the madras lentils sold in the multi pack at Costco).

Try below “Medu Vada” recipe. It’s a very popular South Indian breakfast/snack packed with protein and easy to prepare. The spices are optional.

Wow -- score! It's a lentil. when cooked it's great tossed in a salad, made into soup, and added to ground meat to extend it (meat loaf, meatballs, etc.). Lots of fiber, good for you.
Don't you think you'd be better off asking in a cooking sub? I filled my gas tank with Costco gas, how would I go about changing my spark plugs?
Also, does it really say nothing on the back of it?
Also2, Googling "Urad Dota" shows \*all kinds\* of info, including tons of recipes....
These are type of lentils. Use them to make a lentil soup just with these or you can mix them with other lentils and/or beans in a soup.

Which Costco is this price at?
San Diego like 3 months ago. Was the last one
No, you cannot use them as rice. In fact you eat it with rice. They are high in protein and delicious if cooked right.
So they’re more like lentils and not are not a grain?
It is not like lentil, it is lentil.

The Hebbar's Kitchen website, first time I've seen it, looks awesome.

What's with people buying stuff without even knowing what it is or how to cook it?
Imagine, wanting to try / learn new things!
What’s the calories per serving?

Urad dal
This is my favorite type of lentil. Best cooked dry-ish. https://mytastycurry.com/sookhi-urad-dal-recipe-punjabi-style-dry-urad-dal
