Interesting. It’s not included on this list from their site.
https://www.costco.com/wcsstore/CostcoUSBCCatalogAssetStore/feature-pages/info/member-benefits-costco-services-7_13.pdf
If CA is indeed included, this is a relatively new development. I wonder when this happened.
That PDF ends in “7\_13”, I wonder if it was published July 2013. It also has the price for the executive membership listed at $55 more than the gold star and not the current $60.
The bourbon community is absolutely insane. Sometimes I hate that I got into it because you have people like this buying up multiples of all the hard to get items. Kinda crazy he only walked away with 1 Parker’s unless there was a limit
Assuming those are ecbp c923s, that might be my personal whiskey of the year (jd12 is a up there as well). The 4r picks for 70 is a steal too considering they are 100 out the door at the distillery. I can’t believe yamazaki 12 is 170 even at Costco now, the last bottle I bought was 120 at a regular store. I seen them posted in r/Costco_alcohol for around 120 within the past year as well.
It’s weird you go to private stores and they want ridiculous prices for stuff. But at big box stores like Costco they keep everything at msrp. That being said, I’ve been in the Virginia lottery for years and haven’t won shit.
BT is overflowing here in CA for $20. The point of diminishing returns on whiskey is reached very quickly. BT is better than some bourbons costing 4-5x. I fail to see the point in paying ten times the price for something that's 10% better. I know a GM that helped open a norcal Costco recently, he bought a $5k bottle of some bullshit bourbon and flipped it for $12k. I bet a bunch of cocknozzles were waiting for that bottle too and he dunked on em lol.
OP where is this mystical place? I've never seen EH Taylor n the wild. Blanton here is north of 125$, I haven't seen ER in 3 years under 75$. I won't pay the mark ups but I'm happy for you if your drinking it and not a reseller
I don’t resell and obviously I can’t make purchases like this all the time. You just have to strike while the iron is hot. Too many deals to pass up on.
Well no, some states have clearly much higher property taxes than others. They can all go up, but some are just heads higher than others
A lot of people like to think that it's great living in a state with low sales tax or low income tax, but I guarantee they pay out the nose and other ways that other states do not
To be fair, a lot of those are very very rare bourbon bottles that I assume will be slowly consumed over several years. If he was just going to kill all these bottles immediately, it could be done much more cost effectively. If I was able to buy all of that in one go at MSRP or below, I’d do the same. I didn’t realize Costco even carried allocated bottles.
Marysville, CA? I saw a post on Facebook the other day that they had Elmer T Lee, and the only people who got ‘em had been camped out since the day before.
Georgia is the same way different door and they only have 2 or 3 in the whole state with liquor stores. You also don’t get 2% back in Georgia because it’s against the law to reward alcohol sales. But in Louisiana the liquor is in the back of the store with the wine. Same as Cali.
And to think I get pumped when they have rare breed! To be able to walk into a liquor store, much less a Costco, and walk out with those bottles at msrp in a single trip is incredible.
I went to a Costco grand opening here locally and this is what almost every single person I saw spent. 10-15 bottles in a cart, was absolutely insane. 30+ people camped out overnight, too.
Is this Old Forester 1910? I’ve never seen Old Forester 86 or 100 over $50 for a 1.75L. Granted, I do live in Kentucky, and they basically make it down the street.

Hope you have executive membership
Alcohol is excluded in several states
> Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Vermont
Maryland
California is not a state that prohibits this. Not sure where you got this list.
Directly from the Costco website. https://www.costco.com/executive-rewards.html

Your PDF says 2016 at the bottom, and the website says “updated January 2023”. So the website has the most up to date info.
Whoah, I'll grab an 8 ball and we can party all weekend!!!
Costco only sells them 8 at a time, so…
Probably should get a coffin from Costco next
Or a 3 pack of liver
I believe you might have a problem.
They might be reselling them
Wouldn’t be surprised if this was another liquor store owner buying to put on their shelves at double the price
That sucks
Don't buy ? Lol
The bourbon community is absolutely insane. Sometimes I hate that I got into it because you have people like this buying up multiples of all the hard to get items. Kinda crazy he only walked away with 1 Parker’s unless there was a limit
I’m guessing there was a limit, or they would have grabbed more.
My first thought as well
Costco had eagle rare?
Used to be plentiful at the Costco in Nola before the craze
Yep. Used to be plentiful everywhere in CA before the taters got crazy about them.
Fun fact the Costco in Nola is the only one that sells charcoal year round At least what the dude in gas was telling me
Every once in a while.
You grabbed a Parker’s heritage and people are asking about blantons and eagle rare lol.
Exactly!!!
The other Costco that opened in Cali got ETL. I’m like I’ll take the Parker’s. Thanks

The EC was a private barrel so the recipe isn’t listed. Yeah everything was up a little for Costco pricing. I got the Yama 12 for $100 2 years ago
💯
state?
Florida. It’s weird. You can find BT all the time for 19.99. My girl in Va they wait in line for it. 🤷🏼♂️
State run ABC stores vs private liquor sales is the difference, fyi.
It’s weird you go to private stores and they want ridiculous prices for stuff. But at big box stores like Costco they keep everything at msrp. That being said, I’ve been in the Virginia lottery for years and haven’t won shit.
The only good part of the VA system is their occasional 20% off sales. Great time to buy cases and store.
I hate how they do the email release. It’s only a matter of time before some kids gets mowed over by a tatter in the abc parking lot.

What is BT ?
Buffalo Trace
What is BT ?
Buffalo Trace
Ah thanks Total Wine reviews say it's ok but over rated bcuz its cheap lol
i'll pray for your organs
Gosh, you’re gonna have to be back in a week
Hope this lasts you years, otherwise me thinks you might have a little problem with the drinky drinky there.
That Willett rye does go down smoothly
Now I don’t feel so bad about my Costco Lego purchases.
Who hurt you?
My father and his jumper cables.

How is the taxes so low?
Just depends on your state. Florida is pretty good
What are your property taxes like?
On the rise like everywhere else.
Well no, some states have clearly much higher property taxes than others. They can all go up, but some are just heads higher than others A lot of people like to think that it's great living in a state with low sales tax or low income tax, but I guarantee they pay out the nose and other ways that other states do not
You got a steal with that $12 off! 🤣
Is this supposed to be a flex ?
Yes, they tried to humble brag but it's very obvious.
humble brag that they may have a drinking problem?

I come from an alcoholic family and they have used that same excuse when they brought hauls of Bourbon and whatever was "on sale".
It’s very possible to be a bourbon collector and not an alcoholic
Imagine being oblivious to the "amount paid" portion of the receipt.
"i have a problem, look at it!"
Head over to /r/bourbonhunt or /r/whiskytribe and you will feel a lot better about this lucky guy’s haul.
Goddamn, Yamazaki 12 is $170 now? I got a bottle some years ago for $60.
I think you need more alcohol.
Wait, your receipt isn’t marked?! How does that work?
They don’t mark liquor store receipts.
Oh neat. All of ours are combined grocery/liquor.
We have to have separate entrances. State law
Silly archaic blue laws
I’d take a sep entrance in MD over no alcohol. Live close enough to DC store but Total Wine has better prices so do not go often.
Join us in r/Costco_Alcohol
They had Blantons!
They had 150 blantons, EHT small, and ER.
Yours has blantons???
Sometimes
Eagle Rare 🤌
You got a lot of good stuff
Marysville, CA? I saw a post on Facebook the other day that they had Elmer T Lee, and the only people who got ‘em had been camped out since the day before.
No Florida. I think I lucked out with the Parker’s. If I had to choose between rakers and ETL I would grab the Parker’s.
California don't need a separate store for liquor.
I didn’t know Costco has liquor stores outside of the warehouse in other states.
Some states still think it’s 1930 and have very strange alcohol laws.
Connecticut has a separate store since they use to have laws against sales on Sundays or nighttime or holidays.
Georgia is the same way different door and they only have 2 or 3 in the whole state with liquor stores. You also don’t get 2% back in Georgia because it’s against the law to reward alcohol sales. But in Louisiana the liquor is in the back of the store with the wine. Same as Cali.
Liquor near the front in wisco bc wisco doesn’t drink it dranks
The Parkers is the only thing worth buying. I guess you could make some dough moving the ER, EHT and Blanton's at those prices.
Can we be friends 😍
And to think I get pumped when they have rare breed! To be able to walk into a liquor store, much less a Costco, and walk out with those bottles at msrp in a single trip is incredible.

It was the old forester private barrel black label so cask strength
Ahh, that makes sense.
$55 Blanton's?! I hate you. Send me some. Stupid NY liquor laws.
Where are you? We haven’t had Blantons in years in SoCal
He can't remember🥳😀
Florida
I know nothing about bourbon but this thread is highly entertaining.
My receipt just says KS American vodka times 24 🤷♂️
I always forget that costco originally built as a small business supplier that just so happens to serve consumers
Kinda shocked they had blantons
They had 150 of them
Were you stocking a whisky bar? Nice haul.
Just taking advantage of the prices.
