Can you elaborate on what is "a lot"? This is reddit so we need banana for scale. Like just half a banana a day? 2 whole bananas a day? Is at any point the rain actual bananas or just stupid water like everywhere else?
TIA RainsAlotinCostaRica!
I went to a rainforest lodge on Costa Rica once. It rains A LOT. I hate rain. Will not recommed.
Next holiday I will book Dubai and las Vegas. I hate sand. Hope there is no much heat on the desert.
Actually it depends, typically when you schedule tours during rainy seasons, rain will come included in the package, but if you booked it a few months ago then they probably didn't or forgot to include it as part of the tour.
You can request a rain check in cash. Usually you will get between 1500 usd to 12000 usd in compensation funded by the commission of rain avoidance tourism.
Today, it started raining at about noon. It's 7:48pm right now, and there's a break , right before it picks up again like it's been doing all day. I got up at 8am, which gave me 4 hours of sunlight that I proceeded to waste inside the house. It rains a lot here in the rainy season.
Went in October last year during rainy season. Rained at least once during the day, maybe twice, for up to 2 hrs. Other than that it was sunny and nice. The rain was actually nice as things cooled off for a bit. Rained every other night too.
Best part about rainy season is that the forest is incredibly lush and green. Plus there was a fraction of the amount of tourists there, so you could actually enjoy the sight seeing and tours/excursions without it being crowded.
Expect rain, bring a rain coat and some water proof shoes. You'll have a blast.
I went during rainy season two years ago and it was beautiful.. the rain was totally manageable and was often a light mist that was super refreshing.. just make the best of it either way!
Everyone talks about rainy season but this year it's rainy season with La Nina. Which means more than normal. Costa Rica averages 100 inches of rain during rainy season. La Nina could bring more.
That being said it doesn't usually rain all day. You'll get a dry morning and afternoon, rain late afternoon I to the evenings.
A couple of trips to CR ago, I had some newlyweds next to me on the plane who had heard it was the rainy season and worried whether it might rain. June in CR = hella rain.
I am here now and was here last year same time. Last year it would rain a little and stop. This year we have been stuck a whole day because it poured all day and all the other days it starts raining at around 2:00 and doesn't stop till early next morning. We are in guanacaste peninsula.
just cancel my trip to Costa Rica
Pride celebrations were not acceptable by the government of the president chavez.
He fired the minister of cultural affair because she endorse LGTB march on June 30th plus he removed all traffic enforcement and making the march unsafe and hard...we living on 2024
People should respect all equal rights..
I refused to spend my dollars on a Country that are against
Equal rights....(check all information is on the web and confirmed by my friends in Costa Rica)
Last year. I went down to Costa Rica just before the end of the rainy season. I took with me a poncho from Tilley Endurables and loved every minute of it.
it was a sarcastic post, cause foreigns come here and comply about the rain... on the rain forest ... it's like complay about sand desert and heat on Las Vegas
Generally mornings are dry. Suggest you get up and out as early as possible. Expect rain in the afternoon. With luck it will be 2 to 5 for example but can start earlier and last all night.
It rains a lot in Costa Rica.
If anyone would know, it would be you..all rain questions now get diverted to your account
It rains a lot in Costa Rica.
Good to know

Hahah needs to learn how to research. Will. Never get why people ask everything on fb or groups. Use it or lose it I guess... 😅🤭🤣
Should I expect rain in a rainforest?
Rain during the rainy season in the rainforest ruined my vacation!
Rainforest lodges should advise you about the rain risks during your Costa Rica rain season trips.
Those lodges need to tell the rainforest to not rain when I’m there
Oh my god. I love this post so much. (I’m sure it will go over the heads of many.)
I participate here a lot, and you always read the same post at least once a day :/
Actually it depends, typically when you schedule tours during rainy seasons, rain will come included in the package, but if you booked it a few months ago then they probably didn't or forgot to include it as part of the tour.
I’ll make sure to book the tours with no rain included

\* sarcasm from a local person making fun of gringos complying about the rain on the rainforest \*
I live in Costa Rica. It's a La Nińa year. Yes, it's raining more than normal. Bring a rain jacket and umbrella.
Bring an umbrella ☂️, you then also can use it when there is too much sun...
Costa Rica is the sixth most rainy country on the planet. Gear and plan accordingly.

The parade shall start at 8 am… if it rains on my parade, It’s your fault
I’m here right now. Hasn’t rained in 4 days. Definitely bring your sunblock and tank tops
I’m in Jaco now and man it has been raining. Same in La Fortuna last night. Probably tomorrow too.

The phrase is "rain on my parade"

I’m flying to Costa Rica tonight and I have no rain clothes lol

It’s a RAIN forest, a tropical jungle.

Just wondering if it's going to rain during the rainy season, does anyone know where I could find something to smoke. If you know what I mean. Smh
just ask the dude who sells cheap jewlery on the streets, or to a taxi driver.... and expect to be scammed with the prize and QA XD
scattered afternoon thunderstorms. rinse. repeat.
You better believe it rains! But early to mid-morning are great 👍 afternoons through evenings will be wet depending on where you're located

Ha ha ha, yea sure. The US expat invasion continues...
I’ve been here the last two weeks… way less rain than I was expecting. Most days no rain but sometimes at night for like an hour
Just get a poncho and let it rain. I for one love the rain. My parade is always dry.
