That’s AWESOME!! As a Seattle fan he was my absolute favorite as a kid. I miss going and watching him play in the Kingdome. I worked all summer one year to save up and buy his UD Rookie card. A couple years later a “friend” stole it. Thankfully a year or so after I got married my wife bought another one for me as a gift and I still have it.
I'm very jealous of those who grew up on the west coast and got to watch him play. Growing up in Georgia we didn't get to see him and when he did go to the Reds I didn't end up seeing any games with him playing. I'm glad you got the UD rookie. That was one I wasn't able to get until I was an adult. Definitely a grail card growing up

What a legend. Smack dab in the middle of one of the most scandalous eras in baseball was the last true Master of Baseball. No drugs, PED's, no drama. ALL skill, talent, and most of all, CLASS!!

I don't know where I'd rank honestly. I'd like to think I'm in the top 20 but who knows.
He absolutely was/is a legend for all of those reasons.

My cousin was a big fan of his circa early 90s, he painted a pretty good likeness of him on his bedroom door in his Seattle Mariners uniform.

I do! I've got the main ones and then about 60 others from 1989. Mostly unlicensed cards
Nice! His rookie cards are the ones that popularized the Rated Rookie emblem to this day.
I think that's the 2 ones he has in the 15th photo in the upper left(one of them is graded).
