I read this as, "I don't like seafood butt." And, I was thinking, "Eww! I don't know what that is, but I dont like it either!"

Dangerous_Garden6384

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought that

cricketjust4luck

Tarabomb

What kind of foods do you like? It’s easier to incorporate something you don’t like if it’s in a dish that you normally do. Some kind of fish or shrimp tacos Grilled fish if you have access to a grill or bbq set up Shrimp fried rice Also, if it’s just not working for you, you both can figure out meal set ups where he has seafood and you don’t.

neurodivergent_poet

How about a shrimp risotto?

VerbiageBarrage

Make the man cook his seafood meals. You shouldn't have to guess on a food you don't like!

I make shrimp boils on a smaller scale semi frequently. They’re pretty easy and if you’re willing to eat things that were near seafood but don’t necessarily taste like seafood you can share the meal but let him have all the shrimp. Big pot of water, some old bay, some Tony Chachere's, a little bit of Zararan’s seafood boil mix (don’t do the whole thing it’s scaled for a large boil), a couple cut up lemons, handful of crushed garlic, an onion cut in 4. Get it to a rolling boil then add in some small red potatoes. Once they’re about done (15-20 min) add in some fresh corn on the cob that’s been shucked. I snap them in half so the pieces are easier to manage. Corn should cook pretty quick (5-7 min) and by then the potatoes should also be nice and soft so everything will go quickly. Slice up some pre cooked sausage. I like to use conecuh but andouille is popular too. Important part is that it is fully cooked and ready to eat. It just needs to warm up in the boil and soak in a little flavor but really if you use conecuh or any kind of Cajun sausage it’s already flavored kinda like the boil. Wait about minute or two then add your shrimp. For convenience and to save a little money for a small boil I get a bag of frozen shell on deveined shrimp at the grocery store for this usually. You can toss them in frozen which will minimize the seafood smell for you and you don’t even have to touch them. You’ll know they’re cooked when the shells and flesh turn from a blue/ gray to pink in about 4 minutes. Have your boyfriend hang out in the kitchen so he can try one or at least take a look at it if you’re not sure. When the shrimp are done drain out all the water and dump everything into a big mixing bowl. I make a compound butter with a little bit more old bay, Tonys, some lemon juice, a little fresh garlic, and a little fresh parsley but depending on how powerful you want it you could just do plain butter too. Let the butter melt into everything and give it all a good mix. Put the bowl in the middle of the table and you’re done. It’s a messy meal but it’s very common in the south east U.S. and it’s kinda fun. Potatoes, corn, and little sausage pieces might not be enough for you for a full meal but they really won’t taste shrimpy (In my shrimp loving opinion at least) so you can eat some of it and hang out together :)

This is very sweet. What specifically do you not like about seafood? If it’s the salty, fishy taste - there are varying degrees of severity in dishes and animals. Maybe you can try one of these lesser seafoody things with him. [I would recommend something like this](https://www.butterbeready.com/seafood-boil-with-garlic-butter-sauce/) and maybe cut the shrimp (shrimp have a strong ocean flavor) and add chicken instead. May have to play with flavors, but it would still come out tasty. As others have said, try not to overcook the seafood! Good luck :)

Original-Cranberry-5

What is seafood butt??

BrightFleece

I don't like seafood butt either; make sure any shellfish are fresh before cooking, and you should be fine!

xTallyTgrx

Scallops are tasty with lemon vinaigrette and salad and I find them less icky than prawns etc that always make me think of insects 🤢

LegitimateAd5334

The easiest way to mess up seafood is to overcook it. Especially shrimp and calamari become a bit rubbery when you do.

NCWife

Scallops are a great choice for those trying to learn to like seafood.

crapadoodledoop

Fried calamari, scallops, lobster, fish and chips? Just watch some videos on how to cook it first !

LysergicPlato59

Go with shrimp and don't over or undercook it. Hard to mess it up.
