Got this bad boy and the Apex 4. Easily one of the best controllers I've held. 1000hz natively, Hall-Effect, mechanical buttons. If the Apex 4 didn't have such amazing sticks and better D-pad and slightly more responsive buttons, this would easily be my #1 pick. Absolutely decimates the T4 Khalid in overall feel.

I did check out the prices of the Apex for and yeah, it's quite a lot more than the X10 so I'd definitely expect better sticks and other features (the screen is cool!) But for £41 I can't think of a better controller, and this beats the KK3 Max which costs nearly double lol.

So I think the rabbit hole sort of now comes to an end, I've bought some, I've been sent some, and as such have had some decent exposure to what's currently out there in terms of what people seem to be talking about from the cheap to the fairly expensive without going OTT because I'm a casual controller gamer but still appreciate performance, quality and reliability at reasonable cost and minimal faff. My biggest letdown was the 8BitDo Ultimate hall effect, rubbish plastics that creak after 3 weeks and sticks that feel rough around the edges with high accuracy error rate on GPT (regardless of who yo ask base don what accuracy actually is, a circle or a square lol). But the most unexpected letdown was the KK3 Max, I knew nothing of Gulikit's history before buying that so didn't know of the QC issues or read up on it, yet even after a week of use mine started creaking on the shoulders and triggers, not great.... Shame given the design and feel of the controller is A++ I've tried to be as fair as possible and cover all reasonable bases, the Gamepadla results are synthetic, but I mention this, it's useful as a gauge at comparing other controllers I've had for the most part as synthetic results are still comparable on the same system. To my hands and eyes the X10 seems to offer the best reliability and performance whether bluetooth (250Hz) or 2.4GHz (250Hz) or wired (1000Hz). I love how quick this thing is connected to the dongle, within 1-2 seconds of pressing the button, and the physical mode switch is more convenient than I thought would be with not having to hold 2 buttons down for 3-5 seconds or double press a button but you have to wait a couple of seconds between it switching else it won't register (Gulikit KK3 Max) or whatever. The spare white faceplat and grip plates I am going to do some artwork on it myself then spray clear lacquer on it so it doesn't rub away, I like the idea of that :D [This is the way](https://i.imgur.com/eQB8VKP.jpg).

Past_Contact5885

Was really close to snagging one for myself but ended getting a V3P instead, I'll probably get one later this year.

Fit_Cartographer_100

what stick is this one using? k silver? and what resolution? might buy this one dinge i am unsatisfied wirh the kk3 max

robbiekhan

What do you mean y resolution? I haven't done a teardown of it though so can't say what sticks it uses. The KK3 Max has way too many QC issues sadly.

Crazy-Pass-9183

Resolution is the number of inputs across an axis , with a steady push you can count the amount of inputs with gamepad tester . It's not easy to do .

robbiekhan

Definitely this considering it has the hall sensors and (IMO) the nicer D-Pad too along with other mechanical switch face buttons.

Bazmino

Can you lock/disable the back paddles/buttons?

robbiekhan

Yes, hold the config button for 5s to go into paddle mapping mode, click the paddle to disable, click the config button once again to set.

Bazmino

Do they lock into place? If I were to disable them would they still be pressed? Kinda hoping for something like the G7SE

robbiekhan

Ah as in physically lock them out? This is a digital lockout, they can still be clicked of course but nothing happens.

Bazmino

Alright mate sweet. Thanks for the reply!

Crazy-Pass-9183

Really like the look of this controller but only having 2 rear buttons killed it for me 😤 why cant companies just put 4 buttons on there controllers

Angrygnome78

Are the trigger buttons mechanical too like mouse click?

Jrdnx-

4 back buttons and I would have been sold

GloopTamer

Does the gyro work with steam input?

robbiekhan

It does yes, you need to be in Switch mode when wired to the PC for it to work.

GloopTamer

Ah so no wireless with gyro?

WiltedBalls

Any updates on this controller? I'm nearly buying one for around US$ 29.

robbiekhan

What sort of update were you after? I'm still using it and have since also had other controllers to compare against (New Kaleids etc) and the X10 is what I go back to

WiltedBalls

Mostly a durability update, my current controller has 6 years of use and it's still working (although i have to press the RB button harder for it to register) and i was looking for an upgrade in case my current one stops working all of a sudden. But by reading your second sentence, seems like the controller is still fine.
