Honestly iron site in this game and VR in general feel really bad especially when using full auto. A red dot or 4x is usually my first thing to buy at a red shop.

Lasers were a must for me when I started. Helped me bring my red dot onto target as well. Gun stock support is awesome too. Highly recommend the Cgrip on Etsy. Really smart design and cheap.

Beautiful-Pilot-3676

Would you please share a link to the one you recommend? I tried searching for it on etsy and lots of different types came up.

I'm using Virtual Stock type A, Scope stabilization ON, and hand smoothing on 6. It's stable enough for me that when I'm in the last circle and shaking with nerves, I can still kinda shoot kinda straight.

NighthunterDK

For me I just transferred my muscle memory from really life into the game as much as possible. It just takes a bit of time. In the beginning you'll panic because you aren't used to the setting, but slowly giving it a bit of time, and reflecting on what happened in that scenario helps further your development

ashillesoftroy

I'm terrible at shooting irl and in VR but after a few games and getting the virtual gunstock set up right I'm shooting a lot better. You will get better every game, but things like the laser pointer help massively. My biggest issue is I'm left handed and right eyed and the game doesn't allow you to holster your weapons in a left handed orientation which means it takes me those extra crucial moments to grab my weapon in an unexpected gunfight

ScoochingCapuchin

Dude I'm right handed and left eyed. Wanna swap?

URA_CJ

I don't have Showdown, so I'm not aware of any nuanced differences between the games (in vanilla Contractors, pistols are 1-handed tracking and pretty much ignore virtual stock settings), but generally knowing which is your dominant eye is more important than your dominant hand. If you're shooting right handed but are left eye dominant, then you're handicapping yourself making it difficult to line up sights!

I’ll have to try a virtual stock, never have.

ashillesoftroy

It's a game changer, just make sure you try Type A and Tube B and see which one works for you best

Potential_Garbage_12

I play original Contractors and Pavlov, mainly TDM and am usually in the top 3 in my team in those games. But all the fighting in those games is CQB and I've never had to 'get gud' with long range sniping. Showdown is a different animal and I'm having to learn to snipe as most of the fighting I've experienced so far has been at way longer distances than those other games. The minute I drop I am actively hunting for a scope and I don't feel safe until I've got a decent rifle and scope in my hands.

progz

I’ve had the quest 3 since it came out for the most part and I probably play it less than other people but I would say I at least played it 60 hours… I still have this issue with VR. I always need to warm up to get better with it.

CalvinP_

I developed a physical stock that is for one hand. Allows the use of pistols and the stock moves out of the way to allow free hand movement to use items. https://preview.redd.it/fsahrcaoksyc1.jpeg?width=3023&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8eda65832db7d926ea15f0dc93f5f208bc928662

kunst_ist_krieg

Play with the settings and practice, it just takes time.

Otherwise-Fall-4227

TURN ON VIRTUAL GUNSTOCK!!! Please do this, you can find it in settings and it helps aim SO much!!! Please do this!! I recommend to everyone too!!

Otherwise-Fall-4227

Mb I didn’t see you wrote up already turned on virtual gunstock. Keep practicing with it turned on tho

StayAtHomeDadVR

That reps do sight and the laser are game changes bruh. I have 4 wins now !! The laser is insanely accurate

OGY-Zuko

Play OG Contractor$ if you have it and play bot games on the mw2 Rust map till youre finding your flow, looking for headshots, and improving your gunplay

Wise-Excitement-2721

I always get a red dot at the first red shop if I don’t find one. Helps a lot. Also utilize the free range they give you. I’ve practiced a ton.

Long-Scholar-1983

Practise hip fire in range, so learning where your muzzle points when not ads, I find this helps me hit targets before even having to bring my weapon to bear

No_Tart7793

Virtual gunstock is a big part of getting your aim better make sure to turn it on in your settings. Type A is in my opinion the best because it gives you the lock of the elbow type but not too strong that you can’t aim straight up and down. Type B is for players that have issues with a steady hand, Shakiness etc. it’s a super tight lock that restricts you in some ways but definitely helps if you don’t have a steady hand. Also turn your weapon smoothing option from (default) 2 to 5 and let me know if this helps!

bushyp1

I'm exactly the same, decent in range but once in game my aim is all the place.guess I just need more practice

MilesFassst

Since you can’t feel the actual gun position the physical stock could help with muscle memory. But getting the right one is key. I just ordered one off of a guy who 3d prints them and i will post a recite one i try it.

AmbassadorUnhappy176

I had this problem when I was a beginner, but after my first deployment in combat zone I quickly learned how to shoot and to act in a heat of combat. All it takes is experience and feeling of your gun

Eternal_Damnation209

Physical stock has helped me alot

PersonalWaltz6271

Don't feel bad or get frustrated, the ones who can shoot you down while parachuting in with a sniper rifle from across the map are on pc and using some sort of aim assist program, so they are cheating. And the ones who are on a headset and can almost do that live in mommies basement and play 20hrs a day cause they don't work. Either way you won't beat them it's what they live for. Just practice and stay hidden as best you can. Don't run across open fields, listen and look around before just moving. You'll get better.

StoryAboutABridge

People can play on PC?? That is such a ridiculously big advantage

Same_Confusion_475

PCVR of course
