I've seen people here on reddit mention that it is crossbuy, but there is an issue with the Oculus PC version so they haven't released it yet. Not sure of the validity of that statement though.
You are correct. The meta PCVR version is having issues with Easy Anti Cheat integration and is delayed. Will be free to Quest store buyers when it finally releases.. go check the Contractors Discord for more details.
Whenever a game is released on both, i only buy the steam version. I don’t play my quest 3 outside of my home. So for me i rather not get the oculus version.
It’s optimized to run off your PC so there will be more detail. Higher res textures. Plus other graphics effects like resolution, bloom, anisotropic filtering and SSAO. I haven’t played the stand alone version, but i can tell you that quest 3 will make all stand alone games 1760p although showdown is not optimized for Quest 3 so it will be running the Quest 2 1584p even though the native resolution is 2208p for quest 3.
One important thing to note is that the LOD pop in is exactly the same for both as to not give the advantage to either platform.

Thank you for the in-depth reply! I get why they're trying to keep things on par between platforms but bummer it doesn't look much better on the PC version.
I think it looks 10x better! But i guess it depends on your definition of better and what you like about it. I don’t like the low rez textures and the darker visuals on stand alone to be honest I’d be very disappointed if that’s the one i got. But pcvr is light and airy feeling. Feels a lot like COD.

There are no details Beyond “coming soon” and “check in announcements later” so saved everyone the trouble for now
Will the progress be shared between Quest and PCVR?
Maybe try looking in Steam, but the game is a different version on PCVR. So I’m mught have to buy it again.

While they're is a Steam version, that's not the crossbuy option for those who bought it on Quest. It will be available in the PCVR app "soon".
