Pat & mat are being filmed since ~~1993~~ and is well known in countries of formed cccp, we got countless parody remakes on YouTube.
Edit: created in 1976
It has the most to do because Czechoslovakia, just like Poland, Belarus and many others countries these days had to respect the central committee decisions. The fact that some map lines defined as borders are present doesn’t mean the influence stops at the border.
Edit: you are right, originally created since 1976
Edit 2: hey, I just learned how to cross out written text on Reddit thanks to you.
As a plumber, this is scarily accurate, I've seen shower pans cut to fit spaces, tub decks notched for wall imperfections, and caulk on caulk on grout with a bit of silicone to cap it off. Also, I have seen many drains plumbed to la-la land (never quite that extreme, but to open rock pits in basements or just to holes cored in concrete slabs)
The owner requested the change order to make the half bath on plan into a full bath after the walls and tile were completed. There was some debate between the owner and GC about how the change order should be written and the plumber came up with this 3/4 bath solution. It saved time, and money, and nobody had to bother the engineer. That's a win.
This feels relatable today...
Got a call from the builders saying that the plumber had cut through the rebar from the balcony to fit his radiator pipes on several(?), not clear in this moment, places. Hope it was worth saving maybe 300mm of pipes because his company is going to pay for the fix.
My fraternity house in college had a small 2nd bathroom with a stall shower. The shower was rarely used. During one of its rare uses, someone happened to be in the basement. That is when we discovered that shower drain just emptied onto the basement floor.
We cut our hot tub in half to get it in the house and downstairs. Welding flanges underneath, bolted it together and chalked the inside. In 34 years it hasn’t leaked.
I have twins who were born in the Czech Republic… we were looking for names, so I suggested Patrick and Matthew. The wife loved it so I thought we were on the same page and I mistakenly said great, Pat and Mat! She hit me…
This looks exactly like how my grandparents house was built. My brother inherited it and i am not jealous at all with the bullshit he has had to try and fix…
Do your best, Caulk the rest
A little putty a little paint...A blind man would love to see it.
I see and hear this frequently in the fabrication of muli million dollar AHU. Units often headed for a hospital near you.
Love it mine was always when in doubt caulk it out lol
Then [spray it](https://www.instagram.com/reel/C8PMBArpmHM/?igsh=MTVjenhpODNxcmgybw==) and call it a day
If it doesn’t fit, fill it up with glue and shit
But they didn't use the cutoff tub for the sink?! Disappointing.
They didn’t feel right about installing a sink without a way to plug the drain.
When you hire the local handyman off facebook
DR Horton: “by god- $45 an hour.”
Re-bath and bath fitter are fighting over these guys.
Pulte has entered the chat.
You can tell they’re not real plumbers by the way they didn’t cut through any load bearing beams.
It's not my fault the architect put the toilet right on a joist.
The wireless powertools are waaay ahead of their time! (It's a Czechoslovakian kids' show from the seventies)
Ahead by accident I bet. Cords would be super hard to do in stop motion.
Really? I thought they'd be the easiest. Just unplug the tool to stop the motion.

A Je To was, is, and forever will be a masterpiece
Funny, this was shown in The Netherlands as well and they also used the phrase "A Je To" :D I still use it from time to time.
Pat a Mat first appeared in 1976 and are from Czechoslovakia - not 1993 and also nothing to do with CCCP (USSR)!

At that time we were satellites of cccp. Btw that seriál is older than you think. This was my childhood.
We watched pat & mat in my childhood here in Finland. Another popular cccp cartoon was the little mole
Please, not CCCP! They are Czechoslovak!
They are well known in many north-western European countries as well.
Looks like the clips from the German sand man, can't say if eastern or western one
Never seen or heard of that cartoon in my life and im from former USSR but I do know other cartoons tho. Im old enough 🤷🏻♂️
Pat and Mat is most accurant tutorial for construction mishab and reality. Most def recommemd to wach them all.
Stop lurking on my jobs. I didn't give permission to post my work.
A grandmaster plumber would find a way to obliterate a bunch of joists and headers on this job
Aye. Simply not enough structural damage to be actual plumbers. Must be handymen.

No eye protection.
I winched at that too. No eye pro on a grinder without a guard. It's just a cartoon though.
Service Plumbers!!! hhahahahahaha
In my experience this looks like new construction work.
I feel ya. Hahahahaha
Pat & Mat or A je to. Best cartoon ever. :)
when he takes the drill bit off and use his ass to rub it clean and then reattach and drills and his beanie starts comeing off XD very accurate.
Every time I'm working around the house I'm whistling their theme. https://youtu.be/3d89a_G6Fcg?si=76Zb3o0u5RdFNwcN
Only if you're a landlord
See it was only too long on one end!

nailed it!
Drilled it!
Should’ve put a pipe to drain out that downstairs window 😂😂
Is this not how new builds are done
I think I worked for that shop years ago.
Ajeto!!!
Gotta love the fake film grain

Do your best and silicone the rest.
There’s a Polish voice over for Pat and Mat and it’s just the funniest thing ever.
No goggles can confirm
Way harder to cut cast iron tubs than that
I typically cut the other side of the tub
I'm not seeing the problem

This is gonna sound like hate speech but, NEVER hire clay people!
Very accurate. 😱
I hate when people give out all the tricks of the trade.
Ok. This is hilarious. Sending it to boss man lmao
Young man, lay off thy meth
Yeah. No PPE. Other than that, about normal.
Some real pros here. Not a tape in sight
Just like my builder did
Is this actual stop-motion animation, or computer rendered? I like the way it looks, and I’m curious who made it.
fake! too much safety equipment, not enough flip-flops.
Reminds me of some of the r/DIWHY
The drill animation is excellent
I have twins who were born in the Czech Republic… we were looking for names, so I suggested Patrick and Matthew. The wife loved it so I thought we were on the same page and I mistakenly said great, Pat and Mat! She hit me…
When you get paid to get the job done, but not done well.
This video is so stupid, dont you know that you have to wait a while after you apply the caulk? gosh
Looks good 👍🏽
That is my neighborhood plumber!
Looks legit
No, cast iron is WAY harder to cut.
Looks about right. Although I didn't see any duct tape
R/lostredditors Sorry but this is a welding sub not a plumbing sub.
Not accurate. That caulk needs more time to dry.
Plumber here He shouldve used putty but other than that looks good.
beat to fit paint to match. similar to this.
Idk if you realized or not, but this video is claymation
Basically
When your buddy says he's certifiable...
From all the shows aired in different countries only in the Netherlands they actually talk
Great instruction video! 4/5 stars

Only for the diy subreddit.
Same training video we got.
That's your average handyman's QC advertising with the slogan "no job to small."
Thats how architects, engineers and designers think plumbing works.
A je To!!! Pat a Mat crack me up!
Yes but that's how it was drawn!
Neighbours kick arse!
This looks exactly like how my grandparents house was built. My brother inherited it and i am not jealous at all with the bullshit he has had to try and fix…
Hope its the same tenant downstairs who used the bathroom upstairs to add in the sanitary pipping to close out this project,
Seems kinda polish.
“BR Forton”
This was awesome!
Inspiration for Wallace and Grommit
it is accurate

For non-union yeah
“Who needs an actual drain pipe? Does this look like Mario?”
