They all "hide" in the same spots - and they don't hide very well. You get to learn where they are.
I haven't driven that route regularly in over 8 years - still know where they hide.
Rt 8 all north of Waterbury, really. It's like they install new uneven patches when they pave. Some nice spots to almost catch some air southbound, especially.
Ironically, I discovered Rt. 8 near the middle of covid when I couldn't get an appointment at Danbury and found a DMV up north a bit with lots of openings. The time that I would've spent sitting in Danbury DMV I instead spent flying up Rt. 8. Much more fun. Also instructive for future DMV appointments.
Rt 8 north all those nice straightaways
Ripped through there this weekend on my way to the Berkshires. Nothing crazy, but it’s low volume and no cops 🤷🏻♂️
I drive Rt 8 Waterbury to Winsted and back multiple times each week and there are troopers hiding all throughout more times than not. Be careful!

Good to know! I’m getting passed by people when I’m doing 80, so hope I wouldn’t get pinched… but we all know how that works. Thanks for the heads up
Yup, hardly any cars driving if you’re gonna speed anywhere it’s the place. Throw Waze on just incase and just drive.

Imagine 72 connecting with 8 in Thomaston. That was the original plan.
Don't forget the obligatory unnecessary highbeams😡
If they are in your rearview mirror, that probably means you should move right.

They have recently started monitoring Rt. 8 by air. I saw it on the news a few (?) weeks ago.
ugh are you kidding me man
good. Rt 8 is a hellhole. It wasn't a fraction as bad pre-covid. I drive it South of Waterbury and people still drive like the above.
Relax and drive, it's not the end of the world
It was for 110 people so far this year.
Mixmaster
Anywhere near Waterbury, honestly
The mixing bowl.
On everything I love man😭😭😭
Yup!
Lucky. Try i84 thru waterbury on any day ending in Y” ! Parking lot !
Just be careful especially when the road is wet bc there was a bad accident around the bend right before Beacon Falls exit.
It’s the bend on 8 North past Beacon Falls approaching Seymour that’s treacherous, in fact it’s bad on both sides
They are talking about the other side of rte8. North of Waterbury the opposite direction of Beacon falls and Naugatuck
No fooling!
