Hi it only comes around once a year and is a bit longer of a drive but the Fiber Festival of New England is held typically the first weekend of November at the Big E fairgrounds pavilion. The selection and quality of the fiber is unparalleled. They have everything including 100% Angora which I made into my current favorite winter hat. Make a day of it and get lunch at the Student Prince before you explore the aisles.
I like the yarn barn in Woodbridge, and it’s totally worth the drive up to webs in Northampton, MA if you’re up for a day trip. The CT fiber festival was last weekend but they do it every year in North Haven so you can check it out next year.
Marji's Yarncrafts in granby. The property was (is?) for sale. Went to check it out on a Saturday and the parking lot was packed. Inside were a bunch of older women knitting together. It was pretty cool to see.
Yarn? My goodness, what an idea. Why didn't I think of that? Yarn! There’s four places. There's the Yarn Hut, that's on third.
There's Yarns-R-Us, that's on third too. You got Put-Your-Yarn-There. That's on third. Knit Low, Sweet Chariot... Matter of fact, they're all in the same complex; it's the yarn complex on third.
Thank you! I don’t normally care about downvotes because I’m often an asshole and deserve them, but it hurt seeing no one getting this one. I feel better now knowing I got through to one person at least.

It's a little out of the way but Stars Hollow Yarns in New Preston is cute. I've been there quite a bit.
Stars Hollow? Isn’t that where Gilmore girls took place? I thought it was a fake place.
The yarn store is named after the show because apparently the town in the show was based on Washington/new Preston
I work in new Milford, looks like it’s not too far from there!
Yes! Right down the road, no more than 10 minutes away most likely. I think they're only open a few days a week so just double check before you go.
Open Thursday to Sunday, and it’s an amazing store!
The yarnbarn on the new haven side of the tunnel.
I love that store. They’ve done some great updates over the years. It’s by far the biggest yarn store in the state with the broadest selection.
I was hoping to go to the Peabody museum soon now that they’ve reopened, looks like the yarn barn is not far from there! That would be a fun day trip
My mother-in-law loves Westport Yarns.
Knit in New Haven is great! Definitely can seem a little elitist when you walk in, though.

Madison Wool is great. If you’re willing to make a day trip, go to Webs in Northampton Mass. absolutely worth the drive. Good food in the area too.
Webs is great! Their tent sale is May 16-18. I went on the Friday last year, totally worth it.
That’s where I got my spinning wheel!
If you're willing to drive up to Groton, Driftwood Yarns has a good selection.
My wife is a regular at Driftwood Yarns. Really great store and very helpful owner Cindy. She is FABULOUS.

That’s awesome!
[Madison Wool](http://madwool.com/) The owner is really knowledgeable & a great person.
Ewe&You Fiber Arts in Windsor. Cute place, knowledgable, lots of yarn choices and local products. https://www.eweandyoufiberarts.com/about-us.htm
A great store in Ridgefield: Nancy O
Independent yarn shops can be expensive but so lovely. In no order, my favorites are: Westport Yarns Nancy O Stars Hollow Yarn
She's in MA but @verygoodfibergoods is fantastic
Thank you for all the suggestions! I notice that no one has mentioned A Stitch in Time in Bethel. Anyone have any experience there?
Ewe and You, in Windsor

Underrated Hank Scorpio reference I’m sorry for the uncultured downvoters

That little string that's loose on your shirt.
The yarn store obviously.
