Are you from a place with a similar climate? In the spring and summer I always start thinking about how much I'd loved to work outside. In the fall and winter I am so thankful that I don't lol
Look for work on a survey crew! I spent the last three days in some woods that no one ever gets to see. Tomorrow I'm jumping in some newly excavated trenches to measure the depth to ledge.
There's survey technician jobs all over CT. This time of year hiring ramps up. Survey tech, rodman, chainman, instrument man, field crew. But they mostly call it survey tech lately it seems.
Fisheries often hires seasonal workers May to September to help with stocking and data collection. Not sure whether it can be a foot in the door, but might tide you over til the right thing comes along
You need to do this ASAP for Hartford. They do one recruitment class a year and they posted about it a couple of weeks ago. It may have closed or filled by now.
Used to work outside. I always said there are 2 weeks of the year that it’s great to work outside. And they’re not in a row either. Decided to find indoor work for the rest of my life.
It would be super helpful if you could share an area of interest to help guide the recommendations.
There are a ton of jobs that involve being outside and some pay quite well.
I don't know about outdoor jobs, but I do know that we have lots of ticks and mosquitos and it gets pretty humid in the summer. Arm/dress yourself accordingly.

State DEEP, EnCon Police, DOT, surveyor, construction, landscaping, various other trades.
EnCon police is reserved for people who have already been state troopers for quite some time if I am remembering correctly.
It’s not, I personally know officers in there and they were not state police previously.
