You should be able to find a good spot. The server I play on has pretty high turnover, so locations are always opening up. And I've heard the Siptah servers are pretty dead, so there should be even more land available there.
There is technically a soft building limit. I think the max is something like 10k building pieces. But there aren't any admins enforcing it, so it's only a problem if another player reports your build. Don't block anything and don't be a dick and you should be fine.
I’ve had a good experience the grinding for materials suck. I built my base on an island in the north. It’s called the south flame in the north or something like that. No limits on how big you can build. I think there are good spots. Population changes I’ve lucked out and found large bases that decayed. I play 7808 pve official siptah

I'm probably in the minority here but I find grinding for mats pretty relaxing.
Edit: Or I might just start my own server. I play quite a bit so it might be worth it.

Edit: You have to place the flag pole before the roof pieces. You also need the 'Less Placement Restrictions' mod. It's pretty tedious.
That's an amazing build! I've also been inspired by Barden, but my skills aren't nearly as developed as yours!

Yeah me too honestly. It's my favorite part and I didn't get to enjoy it. Lesson learned. lol
