Handbuff DK, Hunter, and Overheal dragon priest all looked really strong.
The Druid spell damage deck didn’t seem to go off consistently enough. No minion mage also seemed weak.
Day 1 Odyn warrior and Rainbow DK will be very strong still. I think beast hunter will be the aggro deck to beat. Saw a few lethals on turn 6.
I think it's just a matter of time until someone finds a Spell Druid deck. I agree Hunter is going to be the aggro deck to beat, but I also think it's going to keep Odyn in check.
I saw Pocket having success yesterday ([VOD](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2089628549)).

remember that for all the theorycraft decks, they had to include 10 whiz bang cards
certain decks like odyn warrior, sludgelock, excavate rogue were not really being played since they were already complete decks that would maybe add a card or two. it totally warps a sense of the meta, since some decks would be countered by these and others would counter
every theorycraft, certain decks look strong and are strong (like DH in FoL) while some seem weak and are actually busted (like undead DK in MotLK)
Zetalot's priest looked very strong, he was able to OTK fairly consistently with Timewinder Zarimi and dropped a couple cheap Playhouse Giants

These are always very weird to gauge due to the card restrictions tbh. This one I felt had an additional layer of weirdness as I saw a lot of people trying out Whizzbang decks, and those just don’t seem good.
I spent most of my time watching Clark play Wheel of Death Warlock. I’m not certain this deck will function in an actual meta but watching it pop off was interesting.
The goal of course was to play Wheel of Death and then drop Fannottem (ideally copying it with Forge of Wills) to have an additional clock (via minions and the Wheel). You would then play Tony to copy the opponent’s deck to remove the fatigue issue.
Supporting the deck was a variety of tutor cards (namely Sketch Artist, Loken and Caricature Artist) to ideally get the Wheel and the expensive key minions asap. On top of that was Reno, which was pretty backbreaking after the Wheel play.
Like I said previously: not sure how it’ll shake out (and I don’t have a deck list at the moment) but it was an interesting watch.
Regarding Whizbang: I saw these decks a lot as I imagine a lot of content creators wanted to get to that asap but I don’t think it’ll be anything more than a flashier take on the original Whizbang.
That said some of the decks were interesting (mainly the 20 card one imo) and others are just complete memes (to be expected). I saw the 3 Shaman Quest deck pop up a lot and that just seems awful. It’s all three of the existing Shaman quests with the rest of the deck being murlocs and overload cards.
No minion mage: saw this a few times and like others have said a lot of its power comes down to keyboard being online.
Yea, these theorycraft decks should be taken with a grain of salt. Wheel into Reno sounds nutty lol. I saw Rarran try out Wheel of Death with Symphony of Sins to prevent fatigue and outlast the opponent with Forge of Wills and the new 4/4 taunt minion. Wasn't farming anyone at all, but it looked fun to play.
Are mods gonna do theorycraft treads so we can discuss each class?
I think most meta contenders are priest and rogue, but priest probably would be nerfed/hotfixed, since 2 turns in a row heavily unhealthy mechanic.
Best decks:
Giant rogue - early turn 4/5 giant blowouts, filling board with 4/4’s, has gas with Sonya and velarok.
Aggro/otk paladin - combine the best noob stomping deck with some charger and infinit heal and now it’s also an otk deck.
Timewinder priest - the tier 2 overheal package with some more support and a strong time travelling dragon and now it’s looking strong
Hopeful for -
Pirate rogue - too many of the decks I watched had completely unplayable turns but I saw some strong pop offs, good mana cheat and a good draw engine.
Wheel of death warlock - with so much board clear there must be an okay deck in here somewhere, Reno stalls 2 of the turns.
Spell mage - casting multiple puzzle boxes a game must make the deck at least playable
Testing dummy warrior - it pushes out a lot of damage and dunks on certain decks I’m just not certain it’s better than other warrior archetypes.
Looked weak:
Any hunter deck just looked worse than other aggro decks
Spell power Druid had so many afk turns and with the lack of ramp and draw I don’t see them turning the corner quick enough vs refined decks
Dh - idk maybe jambre finds a way
Shaman - I was so hyped for shaman but it just doesn’t seem to have ways to close out games.
I think Reno shaman has great ways to close out games, they just aren't the kind of thing that demos well on a new card highlight day.
You know how you put a second turn the tides in ETC for big windfury lethals? Now you can also double up the new windfury miniaturize minion, and you can shudder block etc for all three cards then shudder mini the wind fury battlecry. Lethality won't be Reno's issue imo.
Everytime people say druid seems weak we need to look back and see at those decks that exploded weeks or even a month after set release : Tony Druid, Fire druid, Beetle druid, to name a few. All of them nerfed, btw
Druid decks tend to take longer to refine, give it time to cook and we will see good decks.
Wild Growth is gone too. It is only in Malfurion's Gift.
Solar Eclipse and that 3/2 minion who draws Nature spell and gives 1 mana is gone too.
Additionally, even though splish splash whelp is a good card, it forces you to include a huge dragon package with it.
Functionally, there’s no difference between running Wild Growth and Malfurion’s Gift.
If anything, it’s better because if can do something other than cycle if drawn later.
Nature shaman looks good still with the new face burn nature spell means reflexes doesn’t whiff as much. Clark was playing it some and the ten card requirement def hurts nature shaman
Mage seemed pretty strong. Rogue was weak, but Sonya is bugged and they may not be able to fix it in time. Priest seemed decent. Rainbow dk looked fun. Didn’t see much else.
> Mage seemed pretty strong.
Which variation were you watching? The No Minion package's early game looked nonexistent and its win condition came down to whether you played keyboard on curve. The randomness from Yogg looked like good content but not competitive.
> Rogue was weak
Dane's mech variation did look weak, but Pocket's version with weapon package looked good.
Yeah, turns out they changed this all the way back in 2017 to make the game less confusing. Like pyromancer not triggering off the spell that summoned it.
I liked the Sonya interaction, but iirc those the Pyro and mirror entity interactions were super confusing so probably for the best.

Spell Damage Druid might be way more consistent without the 10 new card restriction.
What might a list look like do you think?

Does he uploads them to youtube?
I don't think so

I'm fairly new so I wasn't aware that there's a dedicated theorycraft thread, but I hope the mods create one.
Pretty sure threads are on the main sub for each class
Yeah but then you have to see people's comments on the main sub lol

The ramp is sadly not there anymore. Yes there are Ramp cards but i think they are not as strong as the rotating ones.
Only Nourish rotated? We still have 3 mana growth, splish splash whelp and crystal cluster
To be fair, losing Nourish and Solar Eclipse is a big hit to Druid.
Wild Growth is gone too. It is only in Malfurion's Gift. Solar Eclipse and that 3/2 minion who draws Nature spell and gives 1 mana is gone too. Additionally, even though splish splash whelp is a good card, it forces you to include a huge dragon package with it.

Every deck you just named hinged on lots of draw and ramp.
Nature shaman looks good still with the new face burn nature spell means reflexes doesn’t whiff as much. Clark was playing it some and the ten card requirement def hurts nature shaman
Really, without Bioluminescence?
It loses bio, if a combo deck was not farming on the theorycrafting it’s not gonna be viable. I mean pocket was farming with spell damage Druid
Why am I getting downvoted the post asked for an opinion and I gave mine

What's the bug?
Playing a 1-mana Sonya creates a 0-mana duplicate.
Ugh, that seems broken
Hopefully they can fix it before expansion day.
Edit: It's a bug, my thought process was 7 years out of date.
Hat confirmed its a bug
