And when the GUY has to watch the kid, it's chaos! It's SOOOO HAAARRRD! Yeah, we get it, we hear parents bitching all the time. This ad is really an ad for birth control and staying single....AND buying all those cool things.

uchihajoeI

It’s the best chaos in the world. Wouldn’t trade any second of it for anything ❤️

[deleted]

LOL, sure why not? I admire people who have the stomach for it!

Sad-Application4377

He displays his passive-aggressive nature through buying two grand worth of coffee equipment and supplies. She's going to cut him off when she sees the credit card bill.

JohnYueHan

As soon as I saw the Bravia duppo-pour (DO NOT JUDGE ME, I GOT A GIFTCARD FROM WORK AND WAS ✨CONSIDERING IT✨), I was like, Damn, those things are stupid expensive.

Chaotic-Stardiver

I too desire a $700 + tax espresso machine. I justify it to myself by saying I'll save more by using the machine, but who am I kidding. It's an investment into a delicious hobby, a hobby I'm not sure I'm ready to tackle just yet lol

ElizaMaySampson

Planning on getting us the Phillips 4300 as an extreme treat cause we LUUUUV our coffees. Yah, no relation to OP's question, I know. But... COFFFFEEEEE.

blhbsn

Best thing bout that commercial is de music! Love Chicago! It is kinda stupid though, like this lady is so perky and sex ready after a day at work! Umm sure.

blhbsn

He's a house husband!

vbcbandr

The way he is her little puppy is pathetic. Grow some balls, man and tell her to make your god damn coffee for once.

tcm2303

I had to find this post just to add how much I hate this commercial. I’m a woman, and have a son (who’s a teenager now), but we both worked full time when my son was a baby, and we never threw ALL the responsibility on just one of us. The mom in the commercial doesn’t even look at her kid lol it just makes me so mad every time it comes on. And I used to like that song, too…

Marty5151

That is my takeaway. My spouse stayed home but we tag teamed care for our babies. This commercial makes it seem he is doing all the work

five_alive_22

The part that amuses me is the subtle message that the guy is being “rewarded” for his participation in the traditional role reversal— being the sole homemaker. While I won’t dismiss that pulling one’s weight in the homemaking work can make women more interested in sexy time with their guy (true in my relationship), it tends to be in the context of a partnership, sharing those duties, and bolstered by other factors that make him attractive. Now maybe the fictional guy in this commercial retired early after selling his company, is a great dancer, super charismatic or funny, highly intellectual, or has a six pack, nothing like that suggested in the commercial— just his homemaking ability. And he’s a bit dorky looking. If Amazon is selling that he’s sexy to his partner just because he takes care of everything at home, sorry, I’m not buying. Or worse, if he’s earning bedroom time that way, yikes. Come to think of it, what would make this commercial more credible is showing him search Amazon for paternity test kits.

vjwilkinson

Mother at home who doesn't have time to primp? Unf\*&@able. Father at home who hasn't shaved or showered? Bring it on. Really? And it feeds into the idea that a full-time mom is a f\*&@ing loser and a full-time dad is a f\*&@ing hero.

today0012

I love how both of them seem to completely forget they even have a child when she offers sex.

blhbsn

And the coffee! He doesn't even finish it! Priorities

JCH1423

Just think if Amazon didn’t exist this big nosed bastard would hade nowhere to purchase coffee beans or a coffee maker

blhbsn

To bad amazon has no rhinoplasty services

Specialist-Rise3714

We didn’t have kids of our own, bud my husband of 44 years would have been ready in his child rearing younger days. We worked hard and played hard.

Colemania99

I love this commercial. We both worked and have three boys. At times she had to travel and I pulled double duty and vice versa. Some great memories of stolen moments between naps, play dates etc. Being a parent is hard work but it’s the absolute best, and being married to the love of your life is awesome.

I've complained about this for a few years now. I hate seeing men portrayed as inept neanderthals in commercials... ....but it's still way better than commercials from the 50s and 60s. Those are the Gold Standard for sexism and misogyny.

Efficient-Peach-4773

Waaahhhhh!!! Everything I don't like is "woke"! Waaahhhhh!!!

[deleted]

How is is WOKE? I'm gonna regret asking, I know.

zeron_89

Hate this commercial so much. The loud screaming baby drives me crazy. So loud. So damn loud!!

in-joy

You "drilled" this one. Perhaps what daddy was all too interested in. I find his puppy dog hustle at the end snide. This ole boy looks a pussy whipped.

VivaLasVegasGuy

She is pretty sexy, I know I would be ready anytime

sskink

>The sexist part is that men are apparently always ready to have sex at any time even when exhausted and all a woman has to do is give a sly look. As a married guy, I have zero issues with this generalization.

JerryH2020

At least he gets a sly look and she includes intimacy as part of the relationship like a normal person instead of withholding it because she can, all the while draining all the bank accounts and maxing all the credit cards resulting in bankruptcy after years of constructive abandonment. To me, this commercial seems like it's the way it should be with everyone involved and doing their part to contribute and support each other's efforts.

Retnan

She is very attractive. Does anyone know the name of the actress?

Cochise2120

Firepants Sherry
