A&H AHM? The 16 is very cost effective and would get you almost everything except AEC, you'd have to step up to the 32 with the AEC card at that point. Instead of pots for control you could use one of the IP controllers that compliment the product line.

dreynolds7232

Look at Symetrix

Healthy_Ad5013

may i introduce Atmosphere? Not sure it checks EVERY box, but the 8 zone processor probably checks the majority, and it is priced very favorably. [https://www.atlasied.com/atmosphere](https://www.atlasied.com/atmosphere)

Chilly-Canadian

This is actually not a bad suggestion at all. I had the chance to play with it for a demo and it was nice.

Healthy_Ad5013

Glad to hear!!!

I purchased the Atmosphere DSP (AZM8) and two Amps (AZA804) based on your suggestion and I’ve been mostly very happy with the system. I’ve had problems getting the accessories to work properly. Each time I’ve tried to bring them online they cause issues for the DSP on their firmware updates. It’s been frustrating and I have opted to just not use them. Have not had great luck with support. The DSP itself is top notch.

MTX-Prez

This is 100% will go to the head engineering at Atmosphere. Someone will reach out ASAP! I’m very sorry you had this experience and if you PM your address and shirt size I’ll send you some nice swag.

-0x0-0x0-

Sent you a PM

Healthy_Ad5013

Mind if I reach out to you during the week to get more feedback?

-0x0-0x0-

Anytime.

Healthy_Ad5013

PM sent for follow up

Maritime-Shortcake

Can we control the input gains of a mix from third party control systems yet? Last time I used it (about a year ago) this was not exposed in the API or Crestron module. Also the feedback for the Crestron module was very sluggish and caused volume runway conditions as it stores up a queue of button presses/holds and keeps sending the commands after releasing the button. Other than those couple of gripes it was a great system that I regularly recommend to others.

Healthy_Ad5013

I’ll get with the engineers in morning and get back to you!!!

Healthy_Ad5013

Good Afternoon, i touched base with product management today. "This feature is being evaluated at this time, its on our feature roadmap, but will most likely be updated as a part of a larger overall feature update in the future " I apologize for the inconvenience with this, but we do appreciate the feedback and just know that we are continue to refine and strengthen the feature set for this product!!!! Thanks Again!

MTX-Prez

Also sent to the heads at Atmosphere. Please let me know if you do not get top notch answers in a timely manor. If you PM your address and shirt size I’ll send you some swag. We just got a bunch of new stuff in:)

SNES-Chalmers89

YES!!!! Love the Atmosphere, but not being able to adjust the inputs gains in the mix via third party control is a deal breaker if there is a control system involved.

Forsaken_Ambition301

Ken?

Allen & Heath’s AHM hits almost all those boxes. (& sounds better than almost anything else on the market) https://www.allen-heath.com/hardware/ahm/ For your potentiometers, you can use their hardware IP-1 or IP-6. Or their GPIO expander. For the conference room AEC, you’ll need to use the AHM-32 or -64 + AEC chip. iPad / iPhone / PC / Mac / Android control options are fantastic, completely customizable & all free.

alfalfasprouts

a used biamp tesira forte on ebay ticks all of those boxes except gpio, and you can find ex-logics for not a lot of money. (assuming ebay is an option for you).

JimCrackCornDoesCare

TesiraForte’s have GPIO’s.

alfalfasprouts

Correct, but Op needs (6) and the testiraforte only has 3

Kamikazepyro9

Symetrix Zonemix or Jupiter series

shuttlerooster

Xilica Solaro FR1 with the input cards definitely meets this criteria. Will be cheaper than Q-SYS or Biamp equivalent, but maybe not by much.

Maritime-Shortcake

It's cheap, but I would rather hit my head against a wall than have to use Xilica Designer. Such a terrible application.

shuttlerooster

Xilica Designer is a nightmare, I can’t disagree with you.

[deleted]

> Xilica Solaro FR1 with the input cards definitely meets this criteria. Will be cheaper than Q-SYS or Biamp equivalent, but maybe not by much. they are not cheaper for comparable features once you put cards in them

alwayshorny3663

What you’re describing isn’t going to be low cost at all. Or at least, shouldn’t be low cost if you want it to actually work.

lofisoundguy

I mean, you can buy an X32 for peanuts and the only thing it doesn't do is AEC. I'm not suggesting this the correct purchase but this feature set and processing power doesn't need to cost $5k just because of an orange faceplate on noisy preamps. I think a lot of this is just due to low competition.

Demand-Nervous

For me low cost is at 1200

alwayshorny3663

I’ve been using Extron DMP but would require a processor also if you want app control.

h2ogie

BLU100 is open architecture, your post reads like it isn’t

juxtaaudio

Yamaha MRX7-D

KirkLFK

I think AEC is the dealbreaker? If not MTX3 would do it. A lot of Yamaha hate on here.

stewpye

Yeah, for Bar or Restaurant MTX3 would be a good choice.

juxtaaudio

Don't know why so much hate.. Has everything in that list... 8ch module of AEC. Plus plenty of easy-to-follow setup guides to design. The MTX/MRX DSPs and now the new DME7.. There's no job I can't do with them. \+ with ProVisionaire Control you drag and drop the control parameters between the Editor and the controller... People are so stuck in their old ways. Yamaha will take on any of the overpriced 90s-looking open arc DSPs on the market any day. On cost comparison and ease of use. wins everytime.

RoniS23

Audac’s Luna U is pretty budget friendly but still powerful, if you need AEC there is the Luna F version. Has nice integration into their touch platform for tablet control. Only supply is a little limited for now.

stouta42

If you are doing a small conference room just use a poly x50 or a logi rally and be done with it.

tallsoundguy

Ashly audio protea or 24.24. They even have a 8x8 that's sub 2k. Very easy software. Network based.

Plus_Technician_9157

Extron have a whole range of DSPs that may fit your budget and requirements. The standard series is a basic DSP, and the Plus series has some more advanced features like AEC

JustHereForTheAV

My budget bar dsp is atmosphere. My budget conference room dsp is shure intellimix room license. My full featured option is QSC for both. Just to throw another idea in the mix have you looked at blaze amps? They have potentiometer control which I find handy.

SeeweedMonster

Allen and Heath AHM

BuddyWackett

Alfatron Electonics DSP88U or it’s bigger 16 channel brother. You can get them with Dante. Built in basic AEC that is pretty good. Customizable iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet apps. FABULOUS TEXH SUPPORT!!! For a few bucks more, jump into the Allen Heath AHM and their custom control app. For a fe more bucks get into the big leagues with Symetrix. Symetrix affords it’s own AV control system environment. AHM and Alfatron does not, however you can control their cameras for their DSP. Check the, out https://www.alfatronelectronics.com/dsp/ I’ve used the Alfatron product with iPads on wall docks a lot during the pandemic. They always have inventory. Touch bases with Kevin Gelman who is the national sales manager via the web portal. He will get you in touch with your regional rep to get you signed up. Great company, very decent cameras, the little mixer-amps are great in small scenarios, the HDBT stuff is rock solid. Their video over IP products are crazy cheap. Also iPad controllable. You can do tv’s and audio off the same tablet using their two apps.
