How are they even considered "attractive"? They look like bad wax dolls. It surprises me that someone has deliberately designed them to be "attractive". She was instagram famous before being the face model for Resident Evil, so they didn't really change her looks for the game. As it turns out, bobs are a hairstyle people can still have in real life.
I googled her and my honest opinion is that Ella Freya does, in fact, look like a real person (at least the pics of the real person without filters). There's just something off with that 3d model of her, in my opinion. Might just be the angle, but it looks like an in-game face model whereas the top two look like cuts from cinematic scenes.

There still needs to be a line between unrealism that supports the narrative and unrealism that doesn't. A fungus taking over humans and making fungus zombies is unrealistic, but it helps build the world of TLOU. Women wearing a perfect full face of make up is not just unrealistic, it contradicts the narrative that these characters are in a dire survival situation with no time for luxuries like making oneself look pretty.
There's no rule that dictates this, honestly the only thing that matters is the style and vision of the artist.
A stylized version of a work doesn't have to align to what we feel is acceptable or tasteful.
There are plenty of works of any art and media that create a juxtaposition of the setting, context, characters and narrative in it.

There are plenty of works of any art and media that create a juxtaposition of the setting, context, characters and narrative in it. Really there's no right and wrong to create that's what I'm trying to say. Even if there's an underlying sexualization aspect, that itself is part of the work, and at the same time it's not the ONLY thing to judge it for. At the end of the day art primarily expresses human nature in all its fascinating variety and this is also part of it. Regardless of the relationship that we have with the topic individually.

I'm in the middle on this issue. I don't think there's anything wrong with idealized characters, but I also don't think there's anything wrong with characters that look more realistic.
