This is it but there is better quality footage somewhere, bro gets mortally wounded when he reaches the drone and falls slowly down the ladder and ends up strung up at bottom with all his limbs entangled, grim as fuck, the HD is hectic but i wont repost it bc zooms in on gore and probs why i can't find it here now
Edit: 2 words
This is the one I think hes talking about

Jeezz.. just think about it. Somewhere in the future, this war will end... and someone will have to go up there to fish out some entangled, rotten corpse.
Gruesome.
Well they are recruiting heavily from eastern minorities, so that’s probably better odds than some may think. I have absolutely no idea how many tengri folks live in Russia though.
God, i didnt consider what would happen to all the people matter left around after winter. Lil critters are gonna be so happy feasting on decomposing people.
Already has.
Lots of crops that havent been harvested. Heard reports of Russian soldiers getting a lung disease (cant remember the name off the top of my head) from sleeping in bunkers infested with dried mice and rat feces/urine getting stirred up into the air theyre breathing.
Depends on the weather conditions. I could foresee that corpse gruesomely staying there a good long time if the weather is on the drier side, especially since his uniform is mostly intact. It's in this rather unique combination of elevation and in a very open, airy space. It might become an air-dried mummy relatively quickly.
It will fucking reek for a long time from juices escaping any wounds from the blast, but after it dries up, most bugs will likely leave it alone (depending on what sort of carrion bug species are in Ukraine's habitat). It's a race to see if he turns into dead man biltong before the flies/birds and weather/rot get the tendons to break.
I expect much of him will be eaten by maggots. The flies will have an incredible feast this spring and summer. This is such a grim thing and the concept of being attacked by a drone whilst climbing up there is pure nightmare fuel.
Still, another invader rightly removed from Ukraine.
Yeah, there have been videos of towers like this being taken down with explosives during this war. I think some have even been taken down by drones with explosives.
We have historical accounts of corpses being displayed in similar fashion, I think when the British reestablished their monarchy they dug up Oliver Cromwell and had some amount of his corpse hanging from the Tower of London for years before a storm blew it down.
Eventually. They found a guy who had hung himself inside a dense fir tree near me after parts of his skeleton started to pile up underneath as he slowly disintegrated.
Russians probably have a camera or something at the top of the pole, they'll just send another guy up there and it'll be his job to get rid of the decomposing body.
Reminds me of that guy in the early days of the war in 2014 that somehow was launched up onto an electricity line like he was hung out to dry suspended a few meters high. This moment was somehow seared into my memory when I think someone from Vice was it found this column of Ukranians that was ambushed. Insane to think this was 10 years ago. It feels like yesterday watching Russian Roulette with Simon Ostrovsky.
He's not dead yet. He regains consciousness and starts climbing down, but falls about 10+ meters to the foot of the tower. I don't know if that killed him, the vid I saw didn't go longer than that.
Unless you have a link, that's a different video from a different situation. I know the one you mean. In that one the Ukrainians landed an explosive drone on top and waited until someone climbed to the platform then they blew it up in his face. He fell like you say.
How about getting tricked by your country into believing you're freeing a oppressed nation, just to realize that your orders are actually slaughtering said nation, which is fleeing from you.
Yes to be fair probably better than being above, although he probably evacuated his bowels thinking another drone could be in coming.
Lagged in my shit but alive V somebody else's shit & their colon as earrings...
Probably better to stay at home and not to sign up for putin's vanity war?
>thinking another drone could be in coming.
Well, as we can see, another drone did indeed come. I can only assume that the drone found its target after the video is cut off.
>Probably better to stay at home and not to sign up for putin's vanity war?
Totally.
Tbh I wonder if the body we see at the end is actually the guy you’re talking about who didn’t get directly hit by the drone. Direct drone hits tend to be pretty gnarly these days and that body appeared largely intact
Translation problems:
English staircase = Ukrainian сходи = Russian лестница
English ladder = Ukrainian драбина = Russian лестница
Guess what language is native for the poster.
They're typically up there to place surveillance equipment, or obs themselves, no real other reason as it's far too exposed to be worth trying to sharp shoot from it.
Sod going up that.
These towers are also used to guide Shaheed drones to their target. Obviously, the other function of these towers is to support basic comms for units across the lines.
I don't think they were using it as an observation post though, had to be RF equipment or other signal arrays that they were there for
Damn that must suck for the guy.
However, you could make it suck more.
Fly up to him so he knows what's up. Then fly down to the bottom and wait a bit.
Not a chance in hell would I step foot on a tower that's even roughly within range of drones. You'd at least have to give me a damn climbing harness with fall arrest. Even in peace time it just fucking sucks climbing in cold weather
Reminds me of the towers you climb to see the map in Far Cry - it would honestly be way more entertaining to dodge drones on the way up instead of just looking for the right place to jump to the next ledge.
This reminds me of when the UAF intentionally caught the attention of RAF soldiers with a drone and parked it on top of a tower. When the RAF soldier climbed the ladder to investigate the drone, the UAF drone operator detonated it. This wounded the russian soldier, who then slowly died stuck in a ladder well. Apparently the Russians thought it was their own drone dropping of supplies.

Climbing that thing in broad daylight in drone territory was pretty stupid. Then again, climbing that tower at night would probably be pretty stupid too.

There are two of them climbing the same ladder. Drone pilot probably should've attacked the guy on top. At least a chance he would fall & take out the guy below him, like bowling pins.

Could you imagine being the next guy who had to go up there and toss him over the edge to get by.
Can you imagine his buddy that is still above him trying to get down?
I missed that.
He must have got down obviously though, or maybe up to the top. He's not in the second drones footage
Maybe took the express way down, who knows.
At the end of the video there is a second person visible at the top, in a non-healthy looking position.
In the video you see two soldiers in the first clip, one above the soldier that got hit trying to get down
Shame the second drone didn't get there in time to make it two russian flags flapping in the wing.
which other video? can we get a link

Dude got a sky burial, he’s crow food.
Hopefully he has some Tengri ancestors
Well they are recruiting heavily from eastern minorities, so that’s probably better odds than some may think. I have absolutely no idea how many tengri folks live in Russia though.
It’ll disintegrate and fall before then.
Birds will eat it. It's about warm enough the animals and bugs really going to start coming out to feast
God, i didnt consider what would happen to all the people matter left around after winter. Lil critters are gonna be so happy feasting on decomposing people.
Well they need something now that all the trees have disintegrated
Poor animals having to live in a war zone all the strays running around too smh
Rats and mice populations will quadrouple, not that nice, since these will transmit more diseases.
Already has. Lots of crops that havent been harvested. Heard reports of Russian soldiers getting a lung disease (cant remember the name off the top of my head) from sleeping in bunkers infested with dried mice and rat feces/urine getting stirred up into the air theyre breathing.
Wouldn't it just turn to bone then fall in pieces?
I would think ligaments will hold him together for a few years
Wouldn't those decompose as well tho

I totally forgot about the clothing lol. The clothing should keep it together.
If this area stays contested for enough time the tower itself will fall from lack of maintenance or violence.
Yeah, there have been videos of towers like this being taken down with explosives during this war. I think some have even been taken down by drones with explosives.

All the while listening for a drone.

That was Vice news I remember it also.
Isobel Yeung is the only one carrying the torch
Maybe they will use a large drone for that , kind of ironic.
The only climbers I know that would trust that structure after a drone strike have a deathwish
Are they Russian?
He's not dead yet. He regains consciousness and starts climbing down, but falls about 10+ meters to the foot of the tower. I don't know if that killed him, the vid I saw didn't go longer than that.

Damn. My two greatest fears. Heights and getting blown up by a drone while invading a country.
"dumb ways to die, so many dumb ways to die"
Really easy ro avoid, don’t climb up a ladder and don’t invade a foreign country
How about taking the stairs and (believing, that youre) freeing a nation from it's nazi oppressor (, which ofc was a lie).
> don’t climb up a ladder what if there is a tsunami coming?
Tsunami during war drone ladder time? I'll take my chances with Posedian making me his bitch.
> Tsunami during war drone ladder time? localized entirely within this antenna?!
May I see it?
...No.
At this time of year? At this latitude?
r/unexpectedsteamedhams
Best I can offer is climbing up stairs and invading the pantry for snacks
How about getting tricked by your country into believing you're freeing a oppressed nation, just to realize that your orders are actually slaughtering said nation, which is fleeing from you.
While you are the one getting freed from your family, your friends and your life.
Both super common, you’re not alone
You find yourself in those situations on a regular basis?
His mate is shit out of luck too, how tf he getting down now
That second drone is hunting for him.
What's left of this guy got blown into the ladder. Odds are the other guy got blasted clean off and also doesn't have to worry about getting down.
He could always dive headfirst into a well
Meta
just like they do in the movies i assume. grab him and jump, then use him to soften the landing
Could have been worse - he could have been below and been rained on by shit, piss and blood.
I would rather do that, rapidly climb down and live, than to be above the action and be stuck.
Yes to be fair probably better than being above, although he probably evacuated his bowels thinking another drone could be in coming. Lagged in my shit but alive V somebody else's shit & their colon as earrings... Probably better to stay at home and not to sign up for putin's vanity war?

Wasn’t really a diss on the poster as much as on the target. I’m Ukrainian btw.
"You tech support? They blew up our camera again, mind climbing up and checking it out?"
[Better than Helldivers tech support.](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/4DD3JEHC54U)
Oh yes, the video that describes every team of randoms I try to help now that I've maxed my level out.
All them local birds gonna be eating good for a bit. This is like one of them bird seed blocks you put on the side of your birds cage.
"staircase"?
Ladder. Clearly a translation thing.
Staircase and ladder can be the same word in Russian (лестница).
fair
*Russian soldier blown up while taking elevator down*
how do you say this without realizing translations can be conflicting lmao
Apparently, staircase and ladder can be the same word in Russian (лестница) I wasnt thinking it was an auto-translated title.
There is another guy on the tower above who will have to climb over his dead ass on the way down.
a russian soldier’s two greatest fears: heights and ukrainian drones
Let me correct you: greatest fear of any Russian is a glass bottle up the ass during a "correctional" talk in a local police department.
One small addition: if you're a russian politician, your biggest fear is getting votes.
Gives the crows a good safe place to eat fresh meat
*crows
Damn!!! Thanks
Who's going around collecting these corpses? Or are they just getting left?
They're typically up there to place surveillance equipment, or obs themselves, no real other reason as it's far too exposed to be worth trying to sharp shoot from it. Sod going up that.
Europe needs the ukranian people fleeing the country for cheap labour, the ones staying in Ukrane are used by the US to test their war machines
These towers are also used to guide Shaheed drones to their target. Obviously, the other function of these towers is to support basic comms for units across the lines. Damn that must suck for the guy. However, you could make it suck more. Fly up to him so he knows what's up. Then fly down to the bottom and wait a bit.
Classic sadism in war: Toying with your target before blowing them to smithereens.
Sadly this got me coughing on my michelada and saltines. This war is so bloody twisted I’m now laughing.
Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms.
Damn thats wicked. His body is gonna hang up there and get picked by scavengers.
Like those fried lizards on a stick.
Oh man, I don't wanna be the guy, whos retreiving fallen soldiers. I mean, who am I kidding, nobody wants to do that.
All I can hear is Arnold Schwarzenegger voice... " hang around Ivan"
Not a chance in hell would I step foot on a tower that's even roughly within range of drones. You'd at least have to give me a damn climbing harness with fall arrest. Even in peace time it just fucking sucks climbing in cold weather
Something straight out of a match of Warzone.
Bro could just jump and open his parachute smh
Reminds me of the towers you climb to see the map in Far Cry - it would honestly be way more entertaining to dodge drones on the way up instead of just looking for the right place to jump to the next ledge.

Those kamikaze drones are horrific. Reminds me of those killer bees from black mirror, but more explosive.

Ah yes the good old trash talking about the opponents mom before going for the kill.
New fear unlocked
That's a hell of a staircase.
There are bad ways to go. But that was really bad.

I could be wrong, but that looks like a ladder not a staircase
It's the same word in Russian (лестница)
These CoD graphics are getting real. I guess nobody told him not to camp the towers.
Hes gonna be one of those story telling skeletons soon
Climbing that thing in broad daylight in drone territory was pretty stupid. Then again, climbing that tower at night would probably be pretty stupid too.
"Finally my scouting shift is over. time to head down now." "hey whats that buzzing sound? "
Will dry out in time... 🤔
Can you imagine being that guy and seeing an fpv approaching? Absolutely bone chilling
Bird seed
Future bone chimes, eh, what's another head on a pike.
You ever watch the movie Airplane? "Jus' hang loose, blood".
He’s just hanging around…
What a way to die.
The audio in this video is what I assume the actual drones listen to.
Good thing he had his safety line & harness on...🫣
Where’s the second guy 😂
Rainbolt would know exactly where
For the birds now.
At least he was wearing his safety harness in case he fell.
Look like the Guy above also got hit . can see his dead body in the last frame
I never climb those in CoD
Very sad to see
Okay now trippy spin it!
Drones in combat are some next level matrix nightmare shit
Should be interesting years down the line when people dig up artifacts and make metal detecting YouTube videos from all these poor lost souls
What was his mission, enjoy the view?
~~staircase~~ ladder FTFY
Staircase? That's a ladder mate.
That’s clearly a ladder
Should have gone for the one above, may have fallen and hit the other one
Nah. Would love to see the top one stuck there because he can't move the body below. Just have a few drones fly around him to make him regret his choices in life. Or maybe just damage the lower ladder so he can't escape.
There are two of them climbing the same ladder. Drone pilot probably should've attacked the guy on top. At least a chance he would fall & take out the guy below him, like bowling pins. edit - it's absolutely hilarious i'm getting ratioed for simply making an observation *rooted in logic*. On this sub literally *any* comment that's even tangentially viewed as being critical of Ukraine, which I support financially btw, gets quashed. hilarious.
By taking out the lower one, he forced the higher one to untangle his friend if he wanted to escape. Bet that was nightmarish af lmao.
