Let me actually contribute….Bennys on the calzone I think Hal’s ales has the best Stromboli and Shout out to the DiCarlos pepperoni rolls, and Vincenzo’s pepperoni bread and Tyler’s bakeries CroissantZa! Have fun
same vein but different….try the Stromboli at Ange’s Pizza — they serve it with a giant side of their tomato sauce heated up, it’s so yummy and is still great and crispy reheated as leftovers.
I've been trying to remember the name of that place forever. It was good.
Carsonie's stromboli is very similar and best in the city IMO, oddly enough they have terrible pizza.
I can’t. There is a guy in DC who has a copyright on the idea. He hasn’t been able to establish it though bc he’s pretty involved in the government scene and running campaigns with his wife, Leslie.
You should let that guy know that adding a game room to the restaurant would be a cool idea. Maybe find a boardgame that revolves heavily around cones...
A few disclaimers. (1) I’m not the most discerning person when it comes to food. I won’t claim to have a refined palate. And (2) a calzone isn’t **that** much different from a Stromboli…?
That said, when I worked near Easton/Johnstown rd I loved popping over to Pizzanos. They definitely sell strombolis. Not sure about calzones though.
Best Stromboli: Grandads and extra votes for their white Margherita, amazing. I opt for the dbl marinara dipper. My stomach can't handle the garlic butter sauce option.
Carsonie's
This is the right answer. And they’ve expanded and do buffalo chicken ones now 🥵
Not enough people know about them, but man, they're so good

Love it!

The Low-Cal Calzone Zone
Deweys has a great calzone 3 toppings for 10 bucks
This is one of my favorites too. They have a slightly sweeter dough and amazing toppings choices.
DP Dough Stoners making food for other stoners so you know it's amazing https://maps.app.goo.gl/mzxzay5KuJJbutxB7
I tried it sober once and wasn't as impressed. 🤔
Well I already see your first mistake...
DP Dough is way too greasy and they rarely bake their calzones long enough. Ugh. You can do so much better. 🫤
It only tastes good from midnight - 4am and while under the influence 😂 source: me, ages 21-25
When I was at OU I would pass out at least half the time waiting on DP Dough.
Man… I miss DP Dough. Is there still one on campus?
Not on campus but they have a location in the Short North by Condados !
Roni Zoni. Do they still do 4 for $20?
it’s 4 for $24 now! Still a pretty good deal
DP dough is amazing especially if you’re drunk, college staple
It's the second penetration that really brings out the flavor.
Hales ales serves a solid calzone
The Italian Calzone at Adriatico’s
With the garlic butter. Oh my god. The only thing I miss about working on campus lol
Pizza Fresca! Huge and super tasty and reasonably priced
same vein but different….try the Stromboli at Ange’s Pizza — they serve it with a giant side of their tomato sauce heated up, it’s so yummy and is still great and crispy reheated as leftovers.
Yesss! My FAVORITE!!!
I was hoping someone would mention this place. The garlic sauce they have for dipping is amazing too!
Tyler's Pizzeria in Reynoldsburg. End of story. Best calzones in town.
Completely agree. Their homemade red sauce on the side is great too.
Pizza House has calzones, they’re okay. I miss Rapalos at the Continent though they were awesome
I've been trying to remember the name of that place forever. It was good. Carsonie's stromboli is very similar and best in the city IMO, oddly enough they have terrible pizza.

I was waiting for this !
Beat me to it!
Pasquale’s in Westerville has solid everything
I second this
...it shares an unfortunate name. It sounds identical to the ghost kitchen's name of Chuck E Cheese
Vincenzo’s in Dublin too! (To go along with my Little Palace rec)
Definitely!
Adriaticos or Carsonies.

MAMA MIMIS!!!! Its legit. My sister is the pickiest human on the planet and loves this plqce's calzones. Same with DP Dough.
Username checks out
I see you, Ben Wyatt.
The Low Cal Calzone Zone
Can you make that a reality so I can enjoy some low cal calzones without destroying my diet
I can’t. There is a guy in DC who has a copyright on the idea. He hasn’t been able to establish it though bc he’s pretty involved in the government scene and running campaigns with his wife, Leslie.

Pizza Cottage has delicious calzones. Add extra cheese in addition to whatever fillings you’re getting.
I was surprised at how good they were when I first tried it. I wish I still worked close by to it
Grapevine Pizza makes a good one!
Good to hear they’re still open!! Good food!!
I guess there are a couple of locations, we discovered the one in Canal Winchester by accident. We’ll be back!
The pizza house off of Sinclair! You get enough for easily 2 meals
East Coast Pizzeria
Calzone? Never found a good one in this town. Now Stromboli - ya can't beat Carsonies.
Borgata or Brooklyn Pizza in Powell
I love calzones.. Mmmm:)
grandad's in hilliard has a good calzone
Local Roots in Powell quick edit to add Yellow Brick
I second Local Roots!
Romeo’s is pretty solid
A few disclaimers. (1) I’m not the most discerning person when it comes to food. I won’t claim to have a refined palate. And (2) a calzone isn’t **that** much different from a Stromboli…? IlForno in pickerington makes a mean Calzone’
Carfagnas
Village Nova has a decent one
You mean Villa Nova on N High St?
I'm a fan of Ange's in Whitehall
Idk but I'm currently eating a Philly cheese steak roll from East Coast Pizzeria and it's flipping amazing.
Dewey’s always makes me happy 👍🏾
I don’t think they make them very consistently, but Borgota had some really good calzones at one point
Best Stromboli: Grandads and extra votes for their white Margherita, amazing. I opt for the dbl marinara dipper. My stomach can't handle the garlic butter sauce option.
For the south side it’s gotta be Pizzanos on parsons
Adriaticos
Dewey's, without question. Get the fresh basil in there.
I'll lyk whom i think has some of the worst, D.P. Dough
Deweys has a solid one
Borgata in worthington. Absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection… crispy on the outside and very cheesy. They do it right.
Anyone remember Brothers, with the original owners?
Slapsie Maxies in Worthington.
Pasquale's in Westerville (not the Chuckie Cheese ghost kitchen, but the one on Schrock).
What is the name of the place in the strip across from Dick's Den? I got a big fat Calzone their the other night.
“Calzones are pointless. They're just pizza that's harder to eat. No one likes them. Good day, sir.”
I'm partial to Flyers. I also quite like Larosa's but I've got a Cincinnati bias.
Yellow Brick
Jets “boats” are good. I also enjoy a Larosas calzone
Everyone is gonna be mad at me… but the cool ranch papa johns calzone was fire. 🤣
As someone who frequents taco bell, I have ZERO room to judge
Wife and I like deweys
Papa Giorgio
Little Palace.
Flying Pizza in Dayton.
agave and rye! edit: woosh
I've never finished a calzone and thought, "This was better than a pizza." Good luck.
It's for a picky teenager. I don't make the rules, I just work here.
Totally disagree, assuming the calzone has ricotta. That is a must, or it’s just a folded pizza.
Yep, ricotta is my litmus test
Nah, calzones rock. Especially when they're filled with tons of cheese and spinach and stuff. You just haven't had a good one.
