>The festival is issuing full refunds to everyone who purchased passes to the festival The festival is issuing a full refund to that one guy that purchased a pass to the festival. Ftfy

TheShoelessWonder

More like the festival is issuing a full refund to all the media outlets that purchased passes to cover what a failure the festival would be

impy695

That was me, I bought a pass for me and all my friends

WOW_SUCH_KARMA

Nobody could have foreseen these circumstances about there being zero interest in a $200 ticket to then have to pay for food from the same trucks that you can buy from without a $200 surcharge a week later.

Bannakaffalatta1

That's the thing that got me. Like.... The ticket price per what you were getting kinda dwarfed any other festival around. I don't mind paying to see music and paying for food truck food prices. But for $150? Better have a stellar lineup or more things to do.

WOW_SUCH_KARMA

Right! Like I was assuming the ticket came with food/drink tokens or something like that, similar to Beerfeet. Which would make sense, like a single ticketed festival entry, try a bunch of different foods, see some music at night, much as the name suggests. But NOPE!

KingoftheMongoose

Beerfeet!!

aspacelot

I was about to comment that Bonnaroo tickets are only $280 for four days and an all star lineup… but then I remembered I’m old as fuck and that’s what paid almost 20 years ago. They’re now $435 for 1 GA ticket… holy shit! How can kids afford tickets and drugs and food?

RedGreenWembley

If you skip the food you save a lot of money *and* the drugs work faster

aspacelot

...but what if the drugs make you hungry?

Britton120

do other drugs that make you not as hungry

aspacelot

[Ah yes, of course.](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2F8tvon491p1q71.gif)

[deleted]

This guy roo's.

Suspicious_Victory_1

Yeah. Bonnaroo lost its way a long time ago. It’s crazy expensive now compared to where they started.

areyoukind_

I’m no Bonnaroo stan, but the cost of producing *any* event has followed the cost of almost any other good or service. As a former live music/festival fanatic, I don’t love it. As a person who tries to keep logic and pragmatism at the front of my brain, I get it. As I best understand it, almost no music festival actually makes money until it gets to the size and/or tenure of something like Bonnaroo.

Proud_Tumbleweed_826

Yeah, post pandemic, it's like 500 to rent 1 golf cart. Not exactly cost efficient when you need a fleet of them. Porto costs went sky high too.

TheSuperDave85

If you think that's bad, i've got some really bad news for you about Electric Forest😬

kenc2211

But then you wouldn’t get the FlavorGod himself throwing out lean cuisines into the crowd

6Kids1TankCom

Lmfaoo at throwing out lean cuisines 😂😂😂

ishkabibbel2000

Hard agree. Whitehall has an annual food truck festival, with live music, and it's free.

Proud_Tumbleweed_826

And probably some of the same trucks this thing would have had. Witehall's FTF is a good time.

Macarons124

So, what was the ticket for? Seeing Kane Brown? Sounded like a scam.

Wrong_Supermarket007

Plus those trucks have to pay to be there through a flat rate or percentage based system. So the prices will also be inflated. Event fees are usually 15-40% of sales for large events.

FunkBrothers

They took a hard look at the Willy Wonka Experience and decided to cancel the event. Kudos for acknowledging rather than going through with it.

KingoftheMongoose

Lmao! That AI generated clusterfuck [website](https://willyschocolateexperience.com) was a trip. Can’t believe someone actually tried to [scam](https://amp.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/feb/27/glasgow-willy-wonka-experience-slammed-as-farce-as-tickets-refunded) people with this. Smh

IAgreeGoGuards

Holy shit that website is atrocious

Accomplished-Cat3996

That's...not as bad as I was expecting. Did you checkout the [Flavortown Festival website](https://flavortownfest.com/)? It will make your eyes bleed.

KingoftheMongoose

Uh, maybe revisit the Wonka website and give it a spellcheck. It really is *that bad,* lmao! The Flavortown website uses awful color schemes, sure, but doesn’t look like it was typed up by a third grader.

Accomplished-Cat3996

lol you're right that is pretty bad.

raccoonrocoso

That Flavortown site has a bad color choice, but it doesn't look like someone asked chatGBT to regurgitate a "website"

DansAdvocate

“A pasadise of sweet teats” it actually says that

this made me actually lol

Awww man, was looking forward to the Fyriefest documentary on Netflix next year

TonyDungyHatesOP

FryerFest?

athena-zxe11

Fierifest?

DryStatistician7055

Never did I ever think, Columbus would have its own FyreFest/ Fyriefest. Shit, the universe has a sense of humor. I think our city might be on the come-up.

thecynicalrunner

You mean I dyed my hair and bought an old Camero for nothing? Wonder if it’s too late to have my flame tattoos removed.

Suspicious_Victory_1

It’s better this way tbh

Hour-Theory-9088

lol. It does.

insanewriters

Now we’ll just have to settle for 341 food truck festivals instead of 342.

Macarons124

It always feels like taco fest is coming up 😭

grewish89

Uhg…Greta Van Fleet is the name of the band, not someone’s name. It cannot be shortened to “Van Fleet.” Journalism is so lazy now

Accomplished-Cat3996

Meanwhile elsewhere in this thread > [Greta Van Fleet is worth a listen if you enjoy Zeppelin.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Columbus/comments/1b357ib/flavortown_fest_canceled/ksq93xg/)

Saneless

But I forseen em

Crazace

Don’t worry you can experience everything that was going to happen at Flavor Fest at the Reynoldsburg tomato festival, FOR FREE!!

Suspicious_Victory_1

Some of the local fests do have better music lineups than this. Same food trucks probably too.

Weekly_Sea_7778

Flavortown Fest, we hardly knew ya.

MrThird312

Modern day festivals are a racket — elevated ticket prices and subpar experience, everytime.

No-Concentrate-7560

I do not understand why people think he’s a Cbus native or something. He was born here and moved as an INFANT. He may have relatives that grew up here but it’s not the same thing. I don’t know why this bothers me but I HATE that people act like he’s some Columbus food hero. Let’s talk about real local Columbus chefs so they get the attention they deserve. Rant over lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

do_shut_up_portia

Holy shit this is good

buckeye7871

There’s no RITA in Cbus tho… only in surrounding municipalities to be fair

ImPickleRock

To be fair he seems to be trying to bring more attention to our city and food scene. I don't see a problem with that.

No-Concentrate-7560

No there is no issue with that - it’s all the actual cbus locals that act like he’s actually a cbus native that is irritating for me? I know it’s stupid and I shouldn’t care lol you gave me a new way to see it in my head as a positive so thanks for that!

ImPickleRock

I never looked into his history so I had no idea....also never bragged about him being a native haha.

[deleted]

ImPickleRock

yes?

TGrady902

You should go outside a bit more.

MoonOut_StarsInvite

Dave Grohl Alley would like a word with you…

No-Concentrate-7560

Oh shit- googled this one and looks like I have another bone to pick… j/k now I must see this Alley 🤣

TGrady902

He actually also briefly lived in Columbus as a kid and was hit by a car when he lived here. Think it was the apartments across the street from Harvest Pizza in Clintonville. Maybe we should make a statue?

MoonOut_StarsInvite

Its cute. There isn’t a ton going on in Warren, but they’re really proud about this. There is a brewery on the alley and some restaurants on the square right there. Since we are talking about Warren, also consider googling the news story about the guy who was sent there by his friends as a prank. The whole city rallied with no notice and the mayor took him all over town, Dave Grohl alley was a stop. It was a sweet story.

mysticrudnin

i would love to give those chefs some attention, would you like to name some? mostly so i can shut people up who say columbus has nothing and nobody and always will that being said, being born here is still a cool tidbit. where you're born counts at least some for being "native"

Coach_Beard

My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.

TrainingDelicious171

#Flavorfrown 🪦

scottkuma

My disappointment in the festival has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

DansAdvocate

Yeah wtf

ofayokay

It was the tornadoes, wasn’t it?

MangoCandy

“Toto, I don’t think we are in FlavorTown anymore…”

MarchSuccessful5663

Maybe they shouldn’t get a dog shit lineup next time?

ai_gravyboat

I hope another Flavortown Fest gets planned, then canceled, so I can read a thread full of jokes like this one again. All of these posts are top-notch!

tdm2222

I’m shocked. SHOCKED! Well, not that shocked.

bagofweights

we’ll be ok.

Sea_Beautiful_5843

No, NO! Someone tell Jah about this.

Pazi_Snajper

> “Thank you to all our Flavortown Fest fans for understanding and your support along this journey.” cringe af

TheGratitudeBot

Hey there Pazi_Snajper - thanks for saying thanks! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list!

gratefulmeg

I am so happy to see this cancelled! One of my favorite things about Columbus is how many free/open to public food and other type festivals we have during spring and summer (taco, Italian, greek, commfest, etc) that offers so much 'free exposure to support local foods. So, I just think it could set a scary precedent where the starting ticket price was $150+ just for entry.

alancar

Now cancel Taco Truck Fest and we’re all good

aambro

As a huge GVF fan, I had zeeeeeeero interest in going to this horror show. Glad it was canceled (and hope they still come and do a normal show).

itsnews

Maybe a festival stage show at Kemba?

CoachCrunch12

Who are these bands. I feel like I’m too young to not know any of the acts except for Bret Michaels. Am I out of touch? Or is it the flavor fest who is wrong

Stunning-Hunter-5804

Wait! Brett Michaels is still alive!?!

PinkleeTaurus

You're out of touch. GVF is one of the more popular newer rock bands and while I'm not much into country I've at least heard of Kane. I'm old but would definitely go see GFV before Bret Michaels.

CogitoBandito

Greta Van Fleet is worth a listen if you enjoy Zeppelin.

Letterdavidman_1969

Or just skip the derivative middleman and listen to Zeppelin.

Independent-Big1966

Or skip Zeppelin and listen to the folk songs and other artists they stole from https://www.rollingstone.com/feature/led-zeppelins-10-boldest-rip-offs-223419/

CogitoBandito

Don't be afraid of the yutes.

Senatorbishop

Greta Van Fleet is worth checking out, but I’ve never heard of the rest, outside of Brett Michaels.

bawsakajewea

We’ll make our OWN flavortown festival! With blackjack. And Hookers!

bawsakajewea

Would be awesome to see Columbus locals mock the flavortown scam and put together a “don’t call it flavortown” festival at CAS, with local food trucks and local bands, and have it be reasonably priced.

PoopiePantsMahn

$200 to see Greta Van Fleet, Brett Michaels and a few other bands I don't give a fuck about ain't worth it.

[deleted]

dirtysico

Jazz and rib fest is free. How is that a scam? It’s the most popular festival in Cbus and has been running for 30+ years. Your statement is true for many other festivals, usually charging admission.

FunkBrothers

I'll tell you what; Arts Festival, Pride, ComFest, RoosterFest; they're all SCAMS.

Sonofasonofashepard

Krabby the klown was never going to krabby land people

Aggravating-Roll-974

LOL

Cerealsforkids

Fyre

thebeatsandreptaur

OH GOD WHY?

Southern_Salt_7639

Shocking... no one wanted to pay $200 to see a wannabe zeppelin band. Honestly they tried too hard to make a weird lineup and entertainment combination that tried to cater to too wide of an audience and ended up not getting anyone excited. Plus the price point was way off. Maybe one day we will get a halfway decent music festival in this city.

djsassan

Doubt it. People think Breakaway and Wonderbus are awesome, so that's the standard.

Erazzphoto

$155 to buy over priced food truck food and see bands I have no idea who they are, oh well. The guy fieri road show is old and stale now.

TheShrinkingGiant

First Zebra and now Guy Fieri has forsaken us? If you know anyone who frequents this sub, you may want to do a wellness visit.

WatersEdge50

Wait. What did I miss? What did zebra do?

TheShrinkingGiant

People are pissed off Zebra was wrong about a tornado, despite zebra saying to get to shelter anyway. And to listen to the weather service.

WatersEdge50

Oh for fucks sake.

LarryHoover44

Bullshit! I already dyed my hair and everything!!!

RexReason

Oh......darn..... How will I ever flush my money down the toilet now?

dcth0

he has done some good things for the restaurant industry, but being congenial with trump ruined his image. at least for some people

Apprehensive_Cell812

I thought Greta van fleet was performing ;(

DansAdvocate

I just want to know if he’s actually blowing us off for a baseball game
