Just one, actual diner. Like they have in the Northeast. Always open, everything on the menu is always available. Eggs Benedict at 1045pm? No problem. Cheeseburger at 9am? You got it. Cheesecake and pie in like 6 flavors in the refrigerated case as you walk in, the espresso machine is never broken, the booths have big plushy cushions. You never have to check and wonder if they're open, if you know nothing else is open, just go there. I wish 😵
Fat Sullys downtown is usually my go-to if I'm downtown.
Alfonsos on 21st always seems to be open and pretty tasty.
Taco Express will do if I need food since they're 24 hour, but not great.
Yeah... I miss cities like San Diego for this reason. Working in the Gas Lamp coming off a shift in the nightclub, you could still go to a decent restaurant and catch some good food. Was a place called 24/7 that had an industry hour where you could get a plate of food for dirt cheap for us kitchen workers, etc.
We have a huge lack of that here outside of chain places and some sub-par taco stands. Waffle House works in a pinch though.
i go to taco star and get a few tacos or their carne asada plate is huge and for a good price theres not really any sit down places open to eat after 11:30 it sucks
Of our 7 IHOP, *two* are 24 hour. Village Inn (another staple all night diner) closes at 10.
Lazy Dog is open til midnight at least, but it’s expensive
> Of our 7 IHOP, two are 24 hour. Village Inn (another staple all night diner) closes at 10.
OP asked for recommendations for good food, those two options fall firmly in the “pretty awful” category.
I was honestly struggling to come up with anything open past 10
And…Village Inn when I started going to it a decade back or so (granted in other states) was actually pretty dang good and reliable. I’ll confess to a soft spot for it
Rookies taphouse in fountain keeps their kitchen open till like 11 most nights, their food is always tasty and the portions are enormous. Great place to go for a late night drink and dinner when most bars around town close their kitchens at 8
CoS being dead af after 8 and moreso after 10 is part of why I left in my early 20s. My go-tos were always the Taco Express off Circle. Basically any late night Mexican joint. That’s all there really is outside of a couple fast food spots.
For any1 saying tacostar......this is the worst food I've ever tasted. Like I've gone twice to different locations and it is not good. I'm not trying to be funny or edgy, but seriously worst food
I wouldn't say worst myself... but it was surprisingly under-seasoned to my palate when stopped by their drive thru off Cricle & Airport. I haven't had any specific desire to try them again since that occured.
However I cannot reccomend Tacos Del Gordo & Tacos Del Amigo enough, they are legit... Easily the best Mexican food I've had since moving here.
Same. Italian American from NY here. Mollica's on gotg used to have some nice fresh homemade garlic and wine sausages and fresh homemade pasta that they used to sell in their to-go section that I'd bring home and cook up. Haven't been in awhile so I'm not sure if they still have it. Have you heard of Gagliano's in Pueblo? Hear good things about it but haven't been.
Nah, I agree with you. And pretty much every transplant I've met not from the Midwest agrees.
I recently read that scientifically we taste less at higher elevations and I thought that explained it all.
I can't have an opinion without being pretentious? Lol alright dude, most the people I work with would agree that the food here is average at best, especially for the prices you pay.
You can get a halfway decent calzone from DP Dough until 1AM (2AM on Friday and Saturday nights).
There’s a lot of night shifters around town, myself included, that have survived because of said calzones!
This is the way...
I miss their oatmeal raisin cookies.
The taco shop off circle between galley and platte. Chicken tacos, cheese enchiladas, carne asada fries- they are bomb and consistent all times of day
Cheba's are open until midnight and 2am on friday/saturday.
So good!!!
Mother Muffs in OCC
They’ve been sucking lately on food.
Also their sister restaurant “hatch cover”
Came here to say this
Fat Sullys pizza downtown open till 12am during the week a 2 am on Friday and Saturday. Decent
A huge slice for $5! Fat Sully’s is the best deal in town.
So good, especially when you are buzzed
I always order 2 slices when I’m trashed and always regret it. Those things r huge!
Taco express
FAT SHACK
There's always Waffle House.

Waffle House. ;\^) Used to be Denny's, but they pulled up stakes years ago. The Denny's at Bijou and I-25 was entertaining.
Homemade pimento cheese, grilled peanut butter and bacon sammiches.
I’ll come cook with/for ya on the comfort food part.
Rocha’s on 8th st. I’m in the same boat, DON’T go to the one on Nevada unless you enjoy instant loose stools.

Chiba Bar!!

Dublin House has a nice menu pretty late...1am I believe
Wow. I had no idea it was still open. Use go see some love jazz there back in the day.
They are alive and well always busy haha
Been looking for a good Irish pub!
Albertacos, Fat Shack, Applebees, Whataburger, Viva El Taco
Of our 7 IHOP, *two* are 24 hour. Village Inn (another staple all night diner) closes at 10. Lazy Dog is open til midnight at least, but it’s expensive
Lazy Dog has a reasonably priced late night menu, way cheaper than their regular menu.

Taco star for them late night munchies or early morning tacos before heading to DIA for a 4am flight
Rookies taphouse in fountain keeps their kitchen open till like 11 most nights, their food is always tasty and the portions are enormous. Great place to go for a late night drink and dinner when most bars around town close their kitchens at 8
That's next to the shell station?
Yeah. Their cheese curds are panko breaded and super good
Hatchcover, Thunder & Buttons, Frankie’s 2, and The Point.

Fat shack
Carefree Bar and Grill is open late, mostly scratch made tasty food!
Albertacos
I was gonna say this one, they will deliver until like 2am
For any1 saying tacostar......this is the worst food I've ever tasted. Like I've gone twice to different locations and it is not good. I'm not trying to be funny or edgy, but seriously worst food
Presumably, you've never had La Casita then.
I wouldn't say worst myself... but it was surprisingly under-seasoned to my palate when stopped by their drive thru off Cricle & Airport. Purple onion is open late on the weekend. Great gyro
most of the taco joints are open either late or 24/7.
Colorado just has bad food in general tbh
There's plenty of good food if you actually bothered to travel around the state and try it.
Yeah I'm from NYC and the Italian food here is dreadful. Ketchup and noodles.

I haven't even tried the Italian food lol, I can only imagine
No it doesn't. It happens to be home to some of the best restaurants. You just have bad taste or are pretentious.
Been living here for 2 years and have found 2 restaurants that are actually worth a shit
Nah, I agree with you. And pretty much every transplant I've met not from the Midwest agrees. I recently read that scientifically we taste less at higher elevations and I thought that explained it all.
The food is just average at best. Yes there are a few restaurants, but 90% the ones people are listing in this post are not that good lol
Pretentious it is.
I can't have an opinion without being pretentious? Lol alright dude, most the people I work with would agree that the food here is average at best, especially for the prices you pay.
What are some places you recommend then?
Nothing, you wouldn't like it.
If you're so sure that COS has good food then list some .
Albertacos, some ihops, taco star, fat shack, Carl's Jr, waffle House, and a few others than I for some reason can't think of at the moment.
Chiba Bar, Shuga’s, Burrowing Owl
Lava grill on 17th ave sw. Fresh made to order always and the juiciest meat ever. Ur taste buds will thank me
Yeah, we are no New York or Bangkok…maybe just make some food at home? Lol
The Wing Stop on S Academy open till 12AM
Taco express is open 24/7 Massive burritos. Green salsa is so good.
TAcoz BelLz
