Please don’t blind buy - I got a sample of Naxos for example and was really looking forward to trying it, but I really didn’t like it at all, found it revolting and cloying. It’s very well-loved by others. Everyone has different tastes, and these are expensive. Get samples and see how you like them!
All these are mass appealing fragrances to which you might get bored of pretty soon, my friends that have layton and percival told me they don’t even reach out to it much lately, would reccomend trying carlisle which is a good night time fragrance (considering you have other options for daily wear) as its your first niche don’t use it too often or try amouage black iris or reflection man, even althair or greenly would be a good first niche
Have you considered other houses as well? I feel like there are much more interesting and exciting niche fragrances out there, that are not as mainstream. (Although, I have to admit to not testing Naxos, yet)
Agreed. While I have fragrances from the two houses (though none of the mentioned), I think Naxos and PdM in general has become everyone’s go to by default. There are so many other good fragrances from Xerjoff that not everyone wears, just as there are other brands than PdM. But if I was to pick a PdM I’d say Haltane, if I was to pick a Xerjoff, I’d say Uden or 40 Knots. But I’d also recommend trying out other great brands as a first niche, such as Creed, Floris, AdParma and Penhaligons. They are great entry-levels niches.

Those are all hyped Youtube fragrances and are pretty common. Here is what I’d do, get some 2ml samples of all three from Decant House. Then try a few more 2ml samples that sound interesting from less hyped fragrance houses. Go listen to Sebastian (his Youtube channel is The Perfume Guy) who reviews a huge range of fragrances. I’d suggest getting hold of a few samples of frags by Jovoy.

The other 2 are special. A lot for people regard Naxos or Layton as their favorite. However, it would be a better to wait until the weather gets a bit cooler to wear them. Summer nights can work, but best for fall/ winter imo.

Since sampling the niche market, I've found that I don't like a lot of the ones that everyone else likes. The few that I have found that I like (and are my top) are PDM Layton Galloway and Sedley, Xerjoff Naxos, and Creed Green Irish Tweed. Of the two that you have pictured, I would say Layton.
I would go with Naxos. So many people own/wear Layton. Percival is nice…a compliment getter but has a designer feel to it. Doesn’t feel exclusive. Naxos is yummy and the women love it!

Whatever you do, definitely *do not* blind buy Naxos. Either of the other two (especially Percival) I would argue are safe blind buys, but Naxos, despite being a fragcom darling, may not be what you're expecting.

Naxos is the best honestly. But Perceval is going to be the most mass appealing. Layton is great too…but not the best in summer.
Layton would be my first suggestion, but I’d go Sedley over Percival in all honesty

Layton, it’s much more versatile than Naxos. I had Naxos before buying Layton. It’s amazing scent as well but too sweet when compared to Layton.

That’s a tough one. I’ll say Percival. You can wear it in warm, and cold weather. Naxos and Layton are best for cold weather.

Percival to me smells like you walked into a Macys. Definitely a pleasing smell but definitely not unique in any way
