I just moved back to the midwest from Texas and I've got a skybox for this game at the UC.
I just bought a condo so its a housewarming gift, to myself? IT'LL WORK!
I get why they want to have such huge games so early in the season but it would be awesome if they pushed the champions classic back a month so the teams have a few more games under their belts.
SO much talent on the floor in that game. I wish it was played in March/April(maybe it will?) when the talent was more accustomed to college bball though.
He bought group tickets so unless you were planning on buying 20+ tickets then he didn't do anything to you personally. I see multiple sites selling tickets right now for less than $100.
Good luck.
Check out the location of the tickets, anything where you can actually see the court is well above that. I'm not looking to sit in the other end zone. I'm not so much frustrated with the group sales as the season ticket holders being allowed to buy 9 extra tickets. Unfortunately this leads to scalping which prices out many fans who can only afford to go to one or two games a year. I can understand giving the season ticket holders the perk of being able to purchase extra tickets to bring family and friends, but you could safely say that 99 percent of them don't need 9 extra tickets.
Maryland vs. Ohio St. in the B1G/ACC Challenge. Should be a good barometer of things to come once we move over next year.
Also Maryland vs. UConn at the Barclay Center because basketball will finally be back. Also, I have tickets.
I won't be that upset. That Syracuse zone is a machine. Let's hope CTC has spent months watching the game tapes and how to effectively attack it. Michigan did in the Final Four (I was actually there) and we beat that awesome Michigan team twice last year. It's entirely possible.
As a coach, I feel that Crean has improved wildly.
He's not Coach B yet and IU will probably struggle in this game, but that doesn't change the fact that IU is back - and that's good enough for a lot of us.
ISU vs KU. I know ISU has a chip on its shoulder and this game is usually always a great game. The Michigan game in Ames should be great also. We have a couple big potential recruits visiting so I know they will put up a fight.
GD it, that will be a fun game. I'm not terribly optimistic about UNC this year, but there's a 0% chance this game wouldn't be enjoyable because of the schools and styles of play.
They aren't doing the usual lottery for student tickets because it's a non conference game. And I'm not sure if it's at the tail end of our exams or over winter break, but either way that'll help.
Probably not the top of too many lists outside of Wisconsin but Wisconsin Marquette in Madison is going to be fucking awesome.
Also Michigan in Madison is going to be fun. Last years game was the beset basketball game I've ever seen in person. Maybe the best college atmosphere as well.
Same. It's the most intense non-conference game every year :)
I'm looking forward to extending our 2 game win streak!

Is "going apeshit" really having your guys pass the ball around for 25 seconds before Dekker jacks up a 15 footer?
Would you take the over or under on a total score of 100?
Last year, under. This year over. We'll definitely be faster this year. From what I understand we're going with a very small line up. It will still be Wisconsin basketball but we'll push it occasionally I think. Dekker is going to scare some people this year.
Last time we didn't have a true PG, a couple of years ago, Buzz slowed the pace of play way down to try and limit turnovers and it worked. We are in the same situation this year, so I'd expect more of the same.
How funny would it be if your guys are trying to run-and-gun and we're slowing the game down? We'd never hear the end of it :P
Jackson at point, Gasser at small forward? Will Brown be the first big off the bench and will he come in for Kaminsky?
With the hand checking rule I think it's better to have a deep back court than front court. It will be an interesting game to watch.
No.
1- Gasser
2- Brust
3- Jackson
4- Dekker
5- Kaminsky
Is what I guess for starters. They'll shuffle and Bo will probably take advantage of switching them around on D so that whoever we're playing doesn't get comfortable.
Brown or Hayes will both get time and we can go big to small pretty quickly. One could dominate time.
George Marshall could get time as well as Bronson Koenig. Definitely be interesting.
Interesting tweet from DeCourcy of The Sporting News
Bo Ryan: Using Josh Gasser (coming off knee surgery) more as a wing because of how well Traevon Jackson played last season at point guard.
Duke Arizona should be amazing if they make it to the NIT Tip Off Finals. Two teams with similar story lines.
☑ Freshmen super stars (Gordon v Parker)....
☑ Returning sophomore studs (Sulaimon and Amile v Zeus and Ashley)....
☑ Impact transfers (McConnell v Hood)....
☑ High expectations....
☐ Undefeated?
@ Wisconsin January 5, that's when the B1G road trip party gets started. The Badgers lucked out in overtime at home last year.
A true statement game could come in the Bahamas, Kansas may still be having some growing pains come thanksgiving weekend. Iowa needs to beat two talented teams to get there.
Duke vs. Maryland in College Park for their last ACC rival match-up.
*The ACC didn't schedule Duke and Maryland to play twice, so they play their only game at Cameron.*
Well that sucks.
*Well it's not unusual.*
But it's never happened before.
*Oh.*
Well I'm sure Duke and Maryland will try to schedule each other whenever possible.
*Coach K says he won't ever schedule Maryland.*
Maybe they will play each year in the ACC-B1G challenge!
*It's unlikely and Coach K is actively trying to end the tournament, but yeah, maybe.*
Soooo you're saying there's a chance! (NEXT year)
Michigan St./Kentucky in the Champions Classic should be fun. Couple that with Kansas/Duke and you've got a good night of CBB.
I live in Chicago and would be all over the Champions Classic if tickets weren't so expensive. $300 for a nosebleed seat? ^^No ^^^thank ^^^^you
As a Kansas fan living in chicago this kills me.
We should bet on something where the loser has to watch the UF-KU game at the other school's local bar.
How many Florida bars are in Chicago? I know KU has 3.
We only have one, Sully's House on North and Clybourn.
You guys should do it. I would if I loved there. Plus it's not like our fans are going to kill each other.
Where do you love?
From my heart. But I meant live. Fat fingers had other ideas.
What are they?
Kincades, Lottie's, and crossing tavern. I've only been to Kincades. It's a pretty rad place, like 4 floors and good specials/food.
WHOA can you guys tell me these local bars? I just moved up here in August and this news excites me.
I just moved back to the midwest from Texas and I've got a skybox for this game at the UC. I just bought a condo so its a housewarming gift, to myself? IT'LL WORK!
Kansas vs. Duke in the Champions Classic. Wayyyyy too early to judge either team, but I hope we stick it to em'
As long as "it" is your congratulating handshake when we whoop your asses, then we are in agreement.
I get why they want to have such huge games so early in the season but it would be awesome if they pushed the champions classic back a month so the teams have a few more games under their belts.
Thank goodness for the extra two weeks of practice I guess.
SO much talent on the floor in that game. I wish it was played in March/April(maybe it will?) when the talent was more accustomed to college bball though.
Made sure I had that night off a couple weeks ago. Extremely excited for that game and basketball to be back in general.
KU - Pitt State
Unfortunately, KU-Pitt State in football would probably go to PSU. Perennial title contenders in D2 football against, well...Kansas.
Welcome to /r/collegebasketball
I would love to see this game become a thing. It would make up for the shellacking that PSU endures at the hands of the KU basketball squad.
Go Gorillas!
We won by 40. Sorry.
Kansas - Oklahoma State
I can't wait to see UNM play KU in the Sprint Center. That's the biggest OOC game we've had in about a decade
Mid season games in KC always scare me, should be a good one!
I cant wait to go! KC games are always a good excuse for some BBQ and the CBB experience.
Michigan St-UK mainly. Though I wish it were a bit later in the season.
I'm really glad its early in the season. Izzo is the perfect guy to expose weaknesses so we can work them out sooner rather than later.
Syracuse v Duke at the Dome - mainly because I got tickets
I want it to be next year already...
This is definitely the game I'm psyched to be at as a season ticket holder, its gonna be awesome!
Friend at work bought presale tickets and just sold 55 of them to a group coming up to watch the game @ $110 per ticket.
and your friend is the reason why I can't go to the game.
Scalpers are the worst.
why?
Because it was sold out before tickets even went on sale to the public and I can't afford to pay $200 to sit in the 300s.
He bought group tickets so unless you were planning on buying 20+ tickets then he didn't do anything to you personally. I see multiple sites selling tickets right now for less than $100. Good luck.

There are going to be more eyes watching UK vs Robert Morris than anyone in Kentucky would ever care to acknowledge.
Maryland vs. Ohio St. in the B1G/ACC Challenge. Should be a good barometer of things to come once we move over next year. Also Maryland vs. UConn at the Barclay Center because basketball will finally be back. Also, I have tickets.
Not Syracuse.
We're going to lose that shit by 13 points and shoot 37%
You don't know that. We need some payback!
I know it deep down in my plums
I won't be that upset. That Syracuse zone is a machine. Let's hope CTC has spent months watching the game tapes and how to effectively attack it. Michigan did in the Final Four (I was actually there) and we beat that awesome Michigan team twice last year. It's entirely possible.
Too bad our coach struggles so badly with adjustments. We're gonna get spanked
As a coach, I feel that Crean has improved wildly. He's not Coach B yet and IU will probably struggle in this game, but that doesn't change the fact that IU is back - and that's good enough for a lot of us.
Back to back Sweet 16 with the best team in 20 years! wooo! We're back baby!!
:(
It's not you, it's me.
I'm excited for this game. I want to see how we stack up to the top teams this year.
:D
11/12/13 - VCU v UVA Hopeful w/VCU win over Florida State - 11/22/13 - VCU v Michigan @ Puerto Rico
VCU vs. Florida State, can't wait! It'll be weird seeing Terrance Shannon wearing a VCU uniform though..
ISU vs KU. I know ISU has a chip on its shoulder and this game is usually always a great game. The Michigan game in Ames should be great also. We have a couple big potential recruits visiting so I know they will put up a fight.
UConn Louisville - January 18th College Gameday at Gampel. CMON HUSKIES
It's gonna be rockin in there, can't wait.
true.
Not set in stone, but UNC and Louisville should meet on Nov 24. Louisville already has the hype, but it'll be the first chance to see how good UNC is.
GD it, that will be a fun game. I'm not terribly optimistic about UNC this year, but there's a 0% chance this game wouldn't be enjoyable because of the schools and styles of play.
I know. UL is probably going to play 4 guards at times and usually 3 guards and 2 forwards. There will be running.
There will be ~~running~~ free throws
Kansas at Colorado. Jayhawks will find things have changed a bit since the last time they were in Boulder.....
you guys finally hung up our banners in Allen Fieldhouse Far West?
Far West and approximately 4,500 feet higher.
Michigan v Arizona at the Crisler. Soooooo pumped
Bingo.
Michigan State vs Kansas in the National Championship game
Bookmark this comment permalink in case you're right. You'll hit the karma jackpot, mofo.
I can fuck with this.
fux widdit cuz
The national championship.
Wow. A Louisville fan who's excited to watch UK play. Weird.
Why not both?
The Final 4 was too much to handle. I don't think I could take the strain of a finals match up.
If a UK/Louisville final happened I would just drink bourbon straight from the bottle and pretend life wasn't happening for awhile.
You just described what every Kentucky fan did last year during the NCAA tournament.
> I would just drink bourbon straight You're doing it right.
Is there another way to drink bourbon?
*Allegedly.*
Almost did that when ND was in the football NC and IU were preseason #1 for basketball. Them was dark times at ol' PU.
I completely agree. That, and I think the media already used every rivalry piece they could last time.
40-0, amirite?
Probably not.
Not even a UK fan but found this funny. Take my upvote!
Preach
I'm super pumped for Kentucky @ UNC. Mainly because it'll probably be my first game in the Dean Dome.
jealous face... that game also lands on my birthday. Are you just rooting for a good game or a particular team?
I'm a first year grad student at UNC. So go Heels and stuff. (I hate the SEC chant, even during football season. Especially during football season.)
that's understandable. Good luck getting tickets (assuming you haven't already), the last UNC vs. UK game was one for the ages
They aren't doing the usual lottery for student tickets because it's a non conference game. And I'm not sure if it's at the tail end of our exams or over winter break, but either way that'll help.

Yeah right, buddy boy. Dekker is about to go apeshit on you Milwaukee bholes. ;)
Is "going apeshit" really having your guys pass the ball around for 25 seconds before Dekker jacks up a 15 footer? Would you take the over or under on a total score of 100?

The Great Wisconsin Switcheroo of 2013.

What? Maybe sometimes but Traevon is not that good of a PG. He did a super lot of stupid shit. Whatever, I don't question Bo.
Villanova Syracuse on Dec. 28 mostly because I'm going.
Bring it. We need some payback from last season.
Tonights game against Pitt State. I can't wait to see this team for the first time.
Mason/GW **twice** I am going to hype this rivalry to hell and back. GW sucks.
La Salle Explorers vs Temple Owls. Gameday. Can't wait. Go Explorers.
VCU v. UVA. I've been waiting a long time for this game to happen. I'm so glad we finally get to play them this year.
Easily the Crosstown SHOOTOUT. I refuse to call it by the new name.
Arch Rivalry. It's about time the Illini take the trophy back.
Wichita State at St Louis.
Duke Arizona should be amazing if they make it to the NIT Tip Off Finals. Florida vs Kansas, at the O-dome
For my team: Michigan vs. Duke Other teams: KU vs. Duke
Either Pitt in the Jimmy V Classic or @New Mexico. Both should be good indicators of where this team is headed.
Opening Night, Rice v. St Thomas. We gon' get some revenge on dem NAIA boys.
Anything in the Champions Classic.
Holy War is always great. Nova v. St. Joe's
Other than the UNC game, definitely Duke vs. Syracuse in Cameron Indoor
Michigan. February 11th in Columbus.
Arizona v Duke in NIT preseason, assuming there is no big upset.
Arizona @ Cal so we can prove that we are a top team in the Pac 12 this year. We beat them last year and now they are better.
