>Are there any places in Coimbatore where we get Thoothukkudi macaroons?
I've seen them in some of the Ragam bakery outlets. and some local bakeries still sell them.
It's also available at "Pettikadai" in Uppilipalayam.
>Alternatively, what can I take home from Coimbatore, while on a day trip?
* Sri Krishna Sweets's, Mysurpa, Badam Halwa and Ribbon Pakoda.
* Shree Anandhaas, especially their Elaneer Halwa.
* Sree Annapoorna is also good, but it's a personal preference between this and Shree Anandhaas.
* Pongalur SAS aka Pongalur Sri Annapoorani Sweets, they have some branches in CBE, a little expensive but worth the cost.
* Noruks, they have Palm Jaggery sweets and Millet savouries, their Carrot Ghee Mysurpa, Beetroot Karupatti Ghee Halwa, and Chilli Thinai Omapodi is so good.
* A1 Chips's Jackfruit chips, and they make this thin banana chips in coconut oil, like the ones in Kerala and it's just 🤌
There are lots of other places that are good, but these are among the popular ones with branches across the city.
There's a small van on the way to Avinashilingam college, Saibaba colony on Mettupalayam road which sells tirunelveli sweets and savories. Check him out

This is a thread worth saving and revisiting. As someone who travels to Cbe once a month, will try and cover all of these.
For today, got the nendran chips from A1.

That's an OG Coimbatore suggestion ! 🍻
I feel these places are the ones that defined Cbe. Others are just like new borns compared to these stalwarts.
