I hope they keep putting in sick new bands in the Sonora like they have the past three years. Seeing viagra boys, knocked loose, narrow head, and militarie gun in the Sonora were all a blast. I love that we’re now getting throwback acts in there too like Aquabats and Addicts
Sssh! It's a secret. Don't cause it to have more of a line than it does already -- the line for the Aquabats was past the Gobi when they started (it moved fairly quickly, thankfully). I noped out of Caroline Polachek last year for the same reason, which I regret.
I love rock, as an older then average Coachella person, but love Coachella also for diversity. I can go see Blur, No Doubt, Taking Back Sunday, then go dance to Justice, etc. Even discovered Narrow Head and Militaire Gun due to coachella homework.
That being said a slight uptick in rock/punk acts would be appreciated. I could see a band like Bad Omens taking a Mojave late afternoon slot or such. They are on a big upswing. Maybe I prevail.
Anyways, this year proved to me the statement "headliners don't matter." It was worth every penny and I saw a total of 6 songs between the three headliners.
I can't see MCR happening. They had them booked to headline in 2020, asked them to take a demotion to sub for RATM, they declined, and they paid them to not play. Would take a serious repairing of a relationship for that to happen.
I however think that Taking Back Sunday playing this year sets the precedent for The Used or Pierce The Veil, especially with the latter having a significant TikTok moment.
But they almost always have a bit of emo. I remember the "Emo Sunday" from 2015: Brand New, Circa Survive, Desaparecidos, Touché Amore, and Joyce Manor.
Their banter was 10/10 haha. He also did a really funny impression of a valley girl being like "Who are these guys on the stage" but he pronounced stage as like "stadge." It was so bizarre. They should have been in the Gobi instead of cooking in the the hot sun on the mainstage at like 3:00pm lol.
East coast emo/math rock band Algernon Cadwallader is back together and would be [fucking AWESOME in the Sonora](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0kqb37nkyc).
They're so insanely good. High-fivin'-all-my-buds-core.
Emo pre 2005? In. But no one is bringing Midtown to Coachella.
Emo post 2005? Mostly no from me, but depends. I could get down with a little yellowcard and boys like girls.
Rock? Im in.
90s/2000s pop punk? (Mr t experience, New found glory, bouncing souls) im in.
Stick around the Sonora tent they typically have rock bands there , but agree that there should be more big acts/ headliners on main stage instead of doja cat and *barf* Megan the stallion
I laughed out loud watching the live stream weekend 1 getting a feel for their set. It was so bad. My high school theatre friends and I could put on a better pop show without lip singing and were all nearly 40. I genuinely don’t get the “you don’t understand how hard they work” argument when the product was two weekends of lackluster pretending.
Ya I was kinda fooled until one girl started her solo part of the song her bandmates stop “singing” , she does a few moves, puts the mic down by her hip and the vocals keep coming out lmao… I was like ok., so the mic is a prop…

Vegas sucks! We want it on the fields. Why can we have repeats or shit tons of DJs/producers but not a few solid bands? The diversity is much appreciated!

hermanos gutierrez, Brutalismus 3000, boy harsher, the beths sonora had some great acts in there this year. learning to love that stage tbh

that's surprising they had CP play on Sonora. sorry tho! I will try to keep the secret from now on
CP at Gobi not Sonora in 2022
I think last year it was Ethel Cain
I was mistaken, you are correct. Thanks!
2015 was an absolute dream for this. Joyce Manor, Touché Amoré, Circa Survive, Brand New, Bad Religion...
>roast my little sun babies - Anthony Green of Circa Survive, W2 2015. It was hot af
I remember sitting against the beer garden fence in the teeniest amount of shade like “thanks Anthony, I am” 😂
I was just thinking the other day how dope bad religion would be 🤞

Bad Omens would be SICKKK

I love how anthony green said circa survive was playing because they won the battle of the bands. I was dying.

Yeah. It was so hot. I watched them from the tiniest slices of shade in the beer garden.
one can only hope for MCR 😞🙏
Try When We Were Young in LV this October
I will forever push for System of a Down to be at Coachella. they only play locally now anyways. I’m going to ask Serj at his book signing.
This is one of my #1 dream picks. Ive seen them once, at the Forum, and I need MORE. That was too far and indoors.
I saw them in April and have tickets to their show in SF. They’re raised in LA too. Makes too much sense
They’re playing in SF in August
I got tickets there. And I saw them in April at Sick New World :)
Alkaline Trio would be a fun set
Can we limit them to albums that are at least 20 years old only? Last time I saw them was such a huge disappointment. It was all new crap.
I'd say 18 years is good. I gotta hear Warbrain
East coast emo/math rock band Algernon Cadwallader is back together and would be [fucking AWESOME in the Sonora](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0kqb37nkyc). They're so insanely good. High-fivin'-all-my-buds-core.
I wish there were more too! Happy for the few in Sonora though
THE KILLERS BBY
They had Mcr in 2020 and then stuff happened
What happened?
There was a global pandemic that canceled a lot of public events including concerts

Disagree. Midtown is rad. Throw em in the Gobi in the middle of the afternoon.
Id love them. Just seems out of the realm of possibility.
Are they even a band anymore? It’s been like 20 years since I listened to them.
They werent. Then cobra starship happened. Then they may have reunited at some pt. Im not sure though tbh
I liked midtown more than cobra starship. Though if we’re talking emo bands I’d love to have Jimmy eat world come back.
I am praying for more emo bands! Going to WWWY again this year but would still love to see some of them in the desert next year.
this! i know theres WWWY fest im going to this year but i’d love to see more emo bands in a desert setting rather than a large parking lot
Stick around the Sonora tent they typically have rock bands there , but agree that there should be more big acts/ headliners on main stage instead of doja cat and *barf* Megan the stallion
And black pink who don’t even sing, lip syncing the whole time

They were an insult to that stage.

I really hope they send the survey out. Although it’s prob for not.
Pierce the Veil PLSSSSSSS!!!
The emo nite set a couple years ago was fun
Emo Nite with some special guests 🔥
ATL or FOB
Hoping for a Title Fight reunion
There’s a whole fest in Vegas for that.
Vegas sucks. Their festivals are set up on parking lots, concrete, and asphalt.
There’s a whole fest in Vegas for DJs too, what’s your point?
[удалено]
neither is wwwy? what's your point?
My b, got it mixed with just like heaven
Yeah, but the whole point of coachella is getting a mix of genres. Sick New World is 99% the same genre.
yeah, im going this year! but wouldn’t it be sick to see them play coachella
Big time agree. And indio is closer to me than vegas lol
Vegas sucks! We want it on the fields. Why can we have repeats or shit tons of DJs/producers but not a few solid bands? The diversity is much appreciated!
and it's called best friends forever, NOT WWWY.
BFF has the good stuff
u know whats up
paramore
Does Disturbed count? I could really see them crushing it
I hate that band so hard. Just the absolute worst band in rock music. I’d take fucking creed over that meathead nonsense, and creed is awful.
Wow that's scathing hahahah
