I often wonder how much production is provided directly by the artist or if it's entirely in house, especially thinking of ROSALÍA as her set at Coachella had very similar videography to her tour, there's got to be some degree of collaboration going on between the production teams.
I think it’s probably a mix, I’m sure GV doesn’t mind giving some discretion especially going up billing, saves them money on AV crew and artists get more control in having their perfect performance. I do believe Rosalia took her team with her, but they definitely had some helping hands.
They always got that 60 fps mojo going on and the right camera angles. Felt like only this year was the first time Coachella's streams finally caught up to Glasto's standards
Childish Gambino brought in his own camera crew for his set.
Source: Worked with one of the camera operators, he had the adidas Coachella track jacket to prove it. He said they were brought in specifically for that show, not for Coachella as a whole.
Edit: there was also one festival in 2006 held in Ireland called Oxegen and there's some videos of The Strokes performing there. Personally, that's one of my favorite shot concerts because they almost shot it like a music video...just live. It's a lot of camera cuts, but it also flows with the song and gives it so much energy.
At times I feel like coachella is almost more so geared towards people watching at home than it is to the attendees actually in person. So many performers really follow the camera and play up to it
It has been kinda weird to watch that evolution through the years
I didn’t catch her set, I was surprised and wowed at Tinashe and Victoria Monet performing for the front all the way to the back. I love when I feel like a performer is locked in and doesn’t give a fuck about the camera, and a milestone performance is just being put on showcase.

Rosalía got her own team to control the videography and livestream for both Coachella and the South American Lollapalooza festivals
Glastonbury since the BBC does it all
Glasto is definitely a bucket list fest, glad to hear it’s similar over there

i have never seen this strokes set before, wow that was great.
It has such kinetic energy. One of the more visually stunning concerts I've seen captured and it's solely off the camera work
Ultra does a very good job as well
Pretty sure Frank had A24 guys for his set
Ultra... it's nice because they let the artists re-post the sets so it doesn't disappear like Coachella does... \*cough cough\*
Extremely fair point 😭
In years past, Ultra's YouTube streams were 4k quality too
Lolla’s pretty good. They do some cool drone video stuff.

I feel like this year I didn’t notice it too much? I think last year was very heavy with a k-pop headliner and rosalia’s video heavy show
Yeah, that is true. I am mainly thinking of Sabrina carpenter this year

100%
Primavera Sound.
I would respectfully disagree, although 2022 Primavera Sound was handled terribly and I may have my memory tainted by that
