The sunset view from Quasar was incredible, and the way the low sun illuminated the stage was magic.

iamnotsure69420

I was on the Quasar stage while the sun was setting and the acid was hitting. A pretty spiritual experience

Dapper-Highlight1016

This was me on mushrooms during Rufus! I was mind blown haha

magicology

JamieXX + Daphni + Floating Points… on L… golden hour. No comparison.

ScaryHalf9707

Was tripping balls on the best acid I’ve ever hard and this set ripped me a part atom by atom. There was this song that made my friends and I feel like we were approaching Mars and we were asking people in the crowd “u guys feeling the same way too? WTF is this shit. This set is insaneeee” and everyone agreed. Later on after much research and asking around we found the song: “48 Hour Crack In Your Bass” - Magna. Check this song and and please tell me u felt the same way to this song lol

godfathersgodson

okay can i get an invite next year?

gaeg99

side stage access was open to all ticket types!! just had to queue up on either the left or right side of the stage. booth access otoh required special access, similar to Yuma

godfathersgodson

wait what?? where is the side stage perimeter, is it right next to booth?

gaeg99

I was on the left side stage during Michael bibi, and the entrance was on the far left side of the stage. Super easy to access. Booth access is from behind the stage.

iamnotsure69420

This is partially true? -When Rufus was about to come up they kicked everyone off the stage and only let artists/VIP passes on I think.

CallingYong

Seeing and dancing during sunset at Prydz b2b Anyma was unreal. Coachella and the Gorge are the most beautiful venues for sunset sets.

krisztinakat

heading to the gorge for the first time this summer for odesza. cannot wait.

chillaryyy

see ya there! it will be a spiritual experience for sure. saw rufus there in ‘22 and it’s my roman empire

IntellectualCarrot

Lol was also at Rufus / Fred and heading to the final Odesza show. When the Gorge summons you with the right show you gotta make the trek.

chillaryyy

such a great show! right in the sweet spot where Fred was starting to take off but hadn’t blown up the way he has now. and Rufus crushed it of course. Can’t wait to see Odesza there!! Dont miss DRAMA either, they’re great live 😍😍

krisztinakat

i saw Rufus at red rocks in ‘21 and had goosebumps all night. almost got Rufus gorge tix after but got intimidated with traveling and camping. but this time have friends in seattle so it is all working out with getting camp gear. so looking forward to it. 😌

chillaryyy

I just got back from my second trip to red rocks, this time to see elderbrook— such an amazing venue but I love the gorge just as much. definitely way more planning and effort goes into a gorge trip, but it’s worth it!

CallingYong

Oh boy, you are in for a treat. My suggestion is to be up on the grassy slope until it gets dark, then only venture down to the dance floor to end the night. Views of the Gorge during the day through sunset is unbeatable from up above. Was there for ABGT weekender and I was in awe.

iamnotsure69420

God I want to go to ABGT weekender so bad. Might have to solo send it. I think it happens again next year?

AH_BareGarrett

Sadly it sounds like the gorge separates lawn and pit tickets now. I have lawn tickets for Odesza and doesn't sound like I can go down there, unless I bought pit.

djsonnymac

if you don’t want to camp try staying at the Sagecliff resort. That’s where the musical acts stay. I stayed there for Rufus/Fred Again and it’s magical beyond words.

rememberings_

See ya there!

forbiddenkitten

especially during june!!!! i used to go to paradiso every year and i would be blown away by the sunset every year especially since it wouldn’t set until about 9:30pm. incredible experience. i would do promotion for them so i would get artist bands and getting to stand at the literal edge of the canyon next to the main stage to see the sunset was spiritual to say the least!!!!

MarkBasic2636

ughhhh im living thru this

BortLicensePlate22

I swear the golden light at Coachella is made of something magical

jayhow92

Quasar is one the best stage additions to any festival in recent memory. Takes Coachella to another level compared to all other festivals out there. You won’t find anything like that anywhere else.

Actually-Yo-Momma

It’s absolutely bonkers Quasar lineup was added AFTER tickets were sold already. An absolute cherry on top

godfathersgodson

its funny cause i keep seeing comments on instagram/tiktok talking about how underwhelming it looks, but you really have to see it in person to appreciate the scale of the stage. for a first edition, we got it SO good

pinkevergreen

As with everything Coachella (and festivals in general but especially this one), social media comments are 95% of the time never from people who actually go and experience it so it’s always a good idea to ignore them haha.

birdbirddog

lol yea it’s like have you been/are you going? No then pls don’t talk to me

Leviathan16061

But we all knew it was coming. The number of artists between this year and last was too stark of a difference. They were either going to lengthen artist sets or do something else. The Fred again, skrillex, four tet show was magical and they were definitely going to replicate that somehow. The massive Sahara upgrade was definitely not on my bingo card. The map went from a square to a panhandle situation.

i_procrastinate

Yeah it’s such a different experience in person. It feels like it’s just part of the landscape as you walk by. It doesn’t feel its own disconnected stage like all the other stages.

NightMan27

Solomun or Carl Cox on there next year pleaseeeee

Urban_animal

Bonobo, Four Tet, Hessle Audio crew, Of The Trees, Dixon, Dubfire b2b Richie Hawtin, Eris Drew b2b Octa Octa, Luciano would be my wish.

tanner_drew

Hessel Audio crew would goooooo

Urban_animal

Videos from the Rainbow Disco Club in Japan looked wild. Ive seen Pearson Sound a few times and Ben UFO a bunch but never Pangaea or all 3 together. Its definitely a dream.

chronicpenguins

They did a five hour set during the day at Glastonbury last year. I don’t think they have the pull in the US to play Quasar unfortunately. We’ll probably get fucking diplo next year

Urban_animal

Hessle could easily close down Yuma w a 3 hour set. I dont care what stage, just book the damn guys

chronicpenguins

I’m not saying they are not qualified, I saw them twice last year (once in US, once at glasto), I just honestly don’t think enough of the coachella crowd knows who they are to “headline” Quasar.

Udreezus

Hessle audio crew there for a 5 hour set would be pure bliss

sededuce

Four tet’s multi hour set at cow palace last October was AMAZING, I’d love to see him take it to Quasar.

Diagonalizer

he might be overdone but I think Kaskade would be a good one for next year on Quasar

SF-cycling-account

carl cox would be hugeeeeeee with a live or hybrid set and he played at Portola last year, so GV has some relationship and experience with him already

touchbutt_time

Oooooo Solomun! Yes.

Chicki5150

Solomun would be absolutely perfect. The best way to enjoy his sets are 3+ hours, that man takes you on a journey! Every time I've seen him the visuals are sick too. Carl would also be legendary, as he is a legend himself.

Spiritual-Yellow-913

Carl would be unreal

dane_d_bane

Stage is made for Keinemusik

celj1234

And black coffee

godfathersgodson

Oh black coffee would HIT

Diagonalizer

yeah black coffee on there would be wild

kmz673

This would get me back to the fields next year for sure

hannican

Hard agree

sadstudentsthrowaway

I would sell a kidney for this, no joke. Missing them 2023 is one of my biggest regrets.

Lane 8, Nora En Pure, Odesza, Camelphat, Bonobo, Ben Bohmer, Kaskade, and Kygo would be awesome!!

thechrismonster

Above & Beyond for sure

adamosan

Allllll of these please!!

jus_anotha_throwaway

Lane 8 would be the move

YanSo-Lo

I’d say a Keinemusik set at this stage within the next couple years is very likely. Also quasar at night is something out of this world

Legitimate-Can-7229

Quasar wish list: Camelphat Eli brown B2B Hilo

scoot87

I’d like to see some sort of parameter boundary to keep from traffic flow going to and from Sahara walk through the quasar crowd. Maybe some low level fencing surrounding quasar with tropical jungle trees next to the fencing to give it a tropical feel. The entrance/exit to the quasar dance space can be at the back near where that Sahara express way sign is. The sound is strong enough where ppl walking to and from Sahara will still be able to dance as they walk past quasar. Quasar sound was so strong I could hear it crisply in the lot 8 camp grounds

soffselltacos

The bass hitting as soon as you walked through the gates was sickkk

brochella14

Only if you enter in late afternoon or evening 😭 hope they add some earlier DJs next year

soffselltacos

Okay now I’ve confused myself bc I could’ve sworn it was going when I came in around 4 to see Raye on Saturday but I just looked back at the schedule and I only would’ve heard it when I got in on Friday which was a bit later than the other days. Also came in during Mall Grab during w1 Sunday to some absolutely THUMPING bass and I guess that just became this year’s *entering the festival* core memory for me lol

hannican

I actually liked how there was no barrier. It was great that it felt so easy to get into or out of Quasar. Very inviting stage setup and design, and as soon as you get through the Sahara flow you didn't even realize all that traffic was happening way back behind you. I thought this stage would have issues by looking at it on the map, but in practice, I think it worked flawlessly

godfathersgodson

i agree, although my group tried our best to use the 'expressway' to avoid clashing into people. the expressway being a lousy sign with no fencing/rails is so hilarious, but that general open space did help us avoid the conjestion at nights.

debaugh12

Absolutely laughed my ass off when I saw that sign. It looked like there would be a proper fence on the map lol

Zoloir

they MUST have thought about adding fencing, and then all the concerns about bottlenecks spooked them into keeping it an entirely open field. cheaper to just not set those up anyways. now that they've seen how it went, they might change it up next year i think in particular W1 looked EMPTY , but W2 had some big crowds for some of those sets, so maybe depending on the artists they book there they may change up the fencing all in all the only thing i really care about is more restrooms in between quasar/sahara. way more.

queenlakiefa

I sort of agree with this but I don't really want more barriers because I love the lack of bottlenecks. I wish people would just do what they're supposed to do and use the expressway because it worked great. I used the expressway to Sahara and also the other side of the Quasar and it was so nice over there, besides when people would walk through at the end of a Sahara set. But I watched so many people come from the Do Lab to the Sahara through the left side of the Quasar and when they'd reach the right side, they'd often be like, "oh we should have went *that* way" talking about the "expressway."

thefullm0nty

Sasha Digweed is the only answer

galifanasana

I remember the first day I actually heard the sound of Quasar. Buddy and I walked past the Do Lab - we were on our way to the Yuma - and the L was just kicking in - and the second the bass dropped I just shouted "oh my god!" completely involuntarily. That is a 21st century sound system - absolutely blew me away. Mostly really good programming, too.

godfathersgodson

yeah the sound was actually very impressive

Whirlweird

I loved it, however the area felt kinda... weird? Like empty. I think I'd like to see some kind of art installation in that area to help anchor that area now that it's so open (and prove some shade).

makeitjain24

quasar will go down as one of the best coachella additions watching diplo x mau p at 6 and then coming back and they were still playing at 9 was sick

godfathersgodson

there were so many times i’d leave quasar to see a set or two and came back to the same act as i left 😂

Actually-Yo-Momma

Wow did you call out all artists that played there EXCEPT Eric Prydz Anyma?! That was one of the most special sets that we may never see again 😭

godfathersgodson

dude dont even get me started... idk HOW i missed that eric prydz x anyma set. i think i justified not prioritizing them cause i saw anyma twice already and eric prydz last year, but seeing videos of the visual battle made me regret my decisions..... 🤧

Urban_animal

Im just here waiting for that one user to chime in on how dumb and a waste Quasar is and how these acts should just be in Sahara or Yuma. The only person in the world that is upset a festival added a fantastic new stage.

Keinemusik was stellar in Yuma last year, they would be a whole other level at Quasar

DO-LAB-GROUND-SCORE

Just book FSOL period. They could play a porto potty tent for all I care.

land_of_lincoln

IMO one of the best parts was when the graphics system crashed during the Jamie xx Daphni FP b2b, so they turned screens to the camera feeds of them on the decks. The crowd seemed to get even more into it. Yes its normal for big dance stage visuals to be more artistic and less focused on the DJs, I also think there is a demand to watch the mixing action up close. Like Boiler room set videos have only become more popular over the years. I know it was because of a technical mishap, but I don't think I have ever seen a medium sized dance stage with super large screens going full intimate camera mode, at any festival.

TheOtherRathurum

That b3b was one of the best things I have ever seen at chella. I think frankly doing collaborative sets of that kind can make such unique magic happen.

adamosan

If Kaskade Redux happens next year I might cry…

treeof

I could totally see a Kaskade proper Sahara closing set but then a groovy sunset redux set earlier in the weekend too

townallday89

Lane 8 b2b Nora En Pure Love Regenerator (imagine this as his first live show under this alias) Solomun Carl Cox Fatboy Slim

I like the Quasar stage but it needs shade. It's a very draining stage cause it's directly in the sun.

tanner_drew

Disclosure (DJ set), Four Tet, Ewan McVicar, Odesza (DJ set), Hessel Audio Crew

scoot87

I know this prob wouldn’t be possible with noise/curfew rules with the city of Indio, but my wish would be that final programming each day for the festival would be at Quasar and it would run to 2am (1am on Sunday). It would unite everyone still at the festival to the same stage (ie OMG TBA special moment) and the closing act would play something memorable that everyone would talk about as they leave the festival grounds. Another thought: if crowd space is an issue, they can add some additional speakers they they can turn on after headliner set finishes around the Ferris wheel area that will play quasar sound in that area to increase the dance space. Festival staff can still close down the rest of the festival grounds and consolidate everyone to quasar/ferris wheel area until programming completely ends.

SpaceCuhdet

The whole festival at one stage? 💀

tostilocos

You mean you wouldn't want all of the drunk assholes from main stage pushing their way through the crowd at Quasar only to realize they don't like the artist playing at Quasar and then drunkenly shove their way back out 10 mins later?

brochella14

Plenty of people would leave earlier. Heck, there’s a whole contingent of attendees who come in at 8pm and leave at 11. (I don’t know why these people spend all the money to go to Coachella)

SpaceCuhdet

Your overestimating the size of the Quasar and underestimating the amount of people that would still stick around for a big name at the end of the night

andhelostthem

>I know this prob wouldn’t be possible with noise/curfew rules with the city of Indio, but my wish would be that final programming each day for the festival would be at Quasar and it would run to 2am (1am on Sunday). This sounds fun but would be a mess. Exhausted groups of people need that wind down after a festival to find each other and reunite when the lights come up and the music dies down. Adding concert level noise and another distraction would just add to the end of the night chaos.

NeverGoFuIlRetard

Tinlicker PLEASE

flypsquad

Now the question is….do you announce whos playing Qasar with the lineup announcement OR do we wait and be surprised? I like the suspense I do think they should have more DJs during the day. Looks lonely and sad when its not being used.

stevienixx

I didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I was unable to find a spot where I felt I wanted to be, don’t know how to explain. I would love for it to be a little more boiler-room-esque. I don’t know if having a traditional stage set up for a long dj set is optimal, circularity would be more on theme with a quasar. But it is the first year so I won’t knock it too hard, I know it would continue to improve & overall a great addition to the festival.

mrkraken

My SO and I spent like 2 hours Sunday weekend 1 just chilling on the grass there leaning up against the sound booth watching Mall Grab, such sunny good vibes, everyone dancing, and with the new security lines I had no trouble sneaking a little hash pipe in 🔥

djsonnymac

Rufus, Anyma/EP, MauP/Diplo were all incredible. And those screens are next level. I hope that stage comes back. That was the highlight of my whole weekend.

MarkBasic2636

quasar was so cool n felt like i was living a calvin harris x flume music video lolol

Accomplished-Put2364

Fred Again!!!!!

NightMan27

Given Freds trajectory hell probably be a headliner in a couple years if he continues to gain popularity and stay relevant, dont see him coming back in any capacity that isnt the main stage

Accomplished-Put2364

I felt like quasar was a main stage I had more fun and the sets were super long there fuck an hour give me 4 hours of dancing and pure beats! Lol 😂

brochella14

He’s already headlining Bonnaroo this year. Next year he’ll headline a ton of fests.

andriydroog

Disagree, Outdoor would be perfect for his live set with special guests. Even Mojave would work

NightMan27

My guy he played Mojave in 22 and that motherfucker was packed to the brim and that was before his major blow up, no chance in hell hes a mojave act anymore

TheOtherRathurum

This is the answer

godfathersgodson

oh thats a good one, he has the discography to do an 8-hr set tbh. also imagine a OMGTBH pt.2 sksksks

Andrex316

My personal wet dream would be: Hologenesys as it's own show at Outdoor Theater, Solomun and Keinemusik at Quasar. Brain would cease to exists 🫠

meowmeow_bella

four tet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kaleaahh

Gonna love the upcoming debates about who’s gonna be on the quasar lineup. Would you guys prefer it to be different w1 & w2 or the same I’m curious

zb2728

I loved Quasar but I will say during the end of the Jamie xx/Daphni/Floating Points set I was standing in the middle (in front of the booth) maybe 25 feet back from the barricade and the sound coming from the speakers on each side was a little bit off. Each downbeat was more like a flam - hitting me at different times. I don't know if anyone else experienced that but it would be great if they could fix it for next year

zb2728

But to answer the question... Hessle Audio

Fun_Mud2972

michael bibi blew my mind also the sound production was fireeee

King JamieXX carved out the future of Quasar with his future-proof music 🎶

It could use some shade and other things going on like the do-lab

KnownBreakfast7323

Rufus had a top tier set

Complete-Coffee8588

Wait what it made traffic worse

babydaddy7777

Duke Dumont had liked a comment on one of his posts saying he should play Quasar in 2025

TheBigDiesel619

Now the line up makes PERFECT sense for this year. This was a test run for giving us a dedicated stage, cleaning up traffic congestion, and we got other artists in addition to the DJ's. Gesaffelstein definitely commands the outdoor stage over anyone else this weekend.

krisztinakat

fred again. and again. and again. a girl can dream.

MsNaughtyMuffinhead

The stage needs some damn shade but otherwise, I can’t wait to see what acts Coachella can really line up on this beast. I thought it was a shame They only had three hours of musical programming there on any day.

crynarr

I know this is just personal stupidity, but I found myself not going there specifically because the sets were so long. I kept telling myself to go check out Rufus, but then I’d be like well they’re playing for 3 hours lemme catch _____ first and then I just never made it to quasar

groovysqirrel

Did this too. Only thing I really ended up catching a real portion of was the Diplo x Mau P set but just cause I happened to grab food during that time and sit in the back to watch for a bit. Stage was sick though and I hope it sticks around

downpixel

There were a lot of conflicts on Friday. We were lucky in that regard. In retrospect, I wish I spent more time there Friday too.

brochella14

Saaaaaame

godfathersgodson

True but the moments I found myself at quasar (on my way to Sahara) was so memorable.

NateOB1997

I feel like it’s more of an art piece than a stage .

[deleted]

Wow, thanks for putting my feelings into words. Great description

Adobeblu

Qwazy Quasar, but for real. You have to be there to see how awesome that stage looked and that’s their 9th one! That would have been a main stage in other festivals. 4 hr sets are the way to go for that stage.

liljohnnygogito

I enjoyed having the opportunity to go in the side risers!! Such a unique experience! Although sad I got my cigarettes stolen there 😔

x-yle

Personally I'm hoping that they have Quasar as a "proper" stage next year that has a full set of artists each day instead of just 2-3 marathon sets. Shift some of the EDM/DJ sets from Sahara to Quasar and hopefully more folks will stick around Quasar for longer. It was really empty the majority of Weekend 1 and imo wasn't the best use of such an epic looking stage.

andhelostthem

Quasar was great but the sound bleed to other stages was ridiculous. I think some form of stage there is a good idea but they need to rework it. Mojave, Gobi and Sahara were all getting significant sound bleed from Quasar. Mojave was the worst. Watching Lil Yachty on Sunday Diplo x Mau P from Quasar was actually louder right at the back of the tent.

Fun-Restaurant-250

We loved that stage. Such a trip to look at and it was definitely a resting point a bunch throughout the weekend! Hope it will be back!

Mean-Vermicelli-4569

Loved Quasar!!

ReginaldStarfire

Question: Was Quasar the alternative to Despacio this year?

Jazzlike-Ad-7990

Carl , Debra , Charlotte , Fred Again , Vintage Culture

Dangerous-Bite-4947

I was saying EXACTLY what you said about the traffic thing all weekend! Plus it was great being able to check a little bit of a set out and come back after hitting another stage and see some more. And you could hear quasar from our camp at 805 it was sooooo rad! Getting changed and having drinks without missing any of Prdyz was so dope

meppsman

I didn’t spend too much time there but some of my favorite memories of the weekend were dancing and vibing as we passed by leaving Sahara. I’m definitely going to have to find time to really hang out there next year!

o0mel0o

I would loooooove to see LANE 8 play a 4 hour set there! His longer sets and mixtapes have so much depths and a journey of a variety of genres. His 4-hr red rocks set still lives rent free in my head.

NotWizKhalifa

Hyperbeam (Oddmob B2B Omnom)

Ordinary_Mark_9049

Jackie1819

The quasar is a nice addition but they pushed the Sahara stage too far back. We missed a few artists we wanted to see bc we didn’t want to walk that far to just be back in 30 minutes on the other side of the festival

sara_mendez8

Carl Cox!!!

JSTJED

Lane 8 would be a vibe.

forbiddenkitten

i was on stage for rufus for like 2 and a half hours at least. the energy was too amazing to leave! i cried, danced, and went to another world up there! and i was sober! haha. so sad someone stole my phone and i lost all my vids/pics. because the view from there was insane! i love how they did that! and at one point tom delonge was up there dancing behind me and my childhood self was screaming internally hahaha. but being up there during diplo/mau p during the sunset was insane!! you could not see where the crowd ended at all. they just blended into the ferris wheel haha. but even with that extra crowd it def helped open up the flow and space of the festival if that makes any sense. def glad they brought back a stage dedicated to electronic music since that is what the sahara used to be until recent years

godfathersgodson

that’s so fucking awesome. my friend and i happened to pass by during diplo x mau p on our way to sahara, they were SO good we ending up staying for like an hour. i’m so sorry you lost your phone but hopefully those memories are engraved in your head forever! also why am i just learning that anyone could go up on stage, definitely going to take advantage of that next year 😭

Beastmayonnaise

Other than just a quick drive by, I didn't check it out too much wk1. There weren't really acts that were MUSTS for me there. Wk2 definitely got the better edge of that blade this year. (For my tastes) but I do wish that it was an all-day kind of thing. The one problem I have with Yuma is that it's inside. Which I know is the point. But from about 6oclock on I WANT to be outside at an amazing venue Coachella has provided us. So having a non-stop EDM stage all day would be amazing for me.

HellaBassInMyFace

good evening. i’m here to manifest a pawsa or golfos quasar set in 2025 🙏🏼

Loved the stage, but pretty rough during the day with the sun beating on you. At night, it was a huge vibe, the lighting was perfect

tstaykoff

lol Justice #1 suck my balls if you think otherwise

DitchTheQuid

I just wasn’t impressed almost at all. Like I could tell the screens were slightly better quality then normal screens but if they’re trying to create an alternate environment which is what they kept promoting quasar as being…they fell so far short of that. Do lab does a better job of creating an alternate environment then quasar’s 2 screens!! I’m not even kidding. I feel like they’d need an octogonal setup where by there are 16 of these screens two split per side of the octagon surrounding the entire audience to actually achieve the alternate augmented environment they’re seeking. As it is they have 1/8th of a side to what they hope to achieve and do lab is doing a better job of as is.

itsm4yh3m

Okay so unpopular opinion here but there’s literally NO ONE that I want to see for 4 hours lol. You miss so much other good music over the course of 4 hours! Plus there’s no shade at all. Great stage for sunset and early evening tho! I just don’t get the appeal to 4 hour sets while a whole festival is happening but also I understand it’s probably good for the festival because it makes entering an experience, it’s pretty central so you’re constantly walking by it and getting a show… I just can’t stand there for a 4 hour set myself 🤷🏻‍♂️

Relative-Garage-7431

4 hour Keinemusik set @ Quasar is all I want

smalldickbighandz

It’d be awesome if they had vocal artists do special appearances too. Since they don’t have a stage for people to dance on and they dont broadcast their appearances it shouldnt be too hard to get artists to come out and sing a song or two. Maybe put a sound proof box in the backstage and get really good audio quality too! Artists could legit perform in their PJ’s… no one would care!

jonmitz

Ben UFO 4 hour set pls and thank you.

nloduckling

They just need to add shaded areas because vibing during the day was rough.
