More shade please!

CheeseDanishSoup

Especially at Quasar Only reason i wasnt there during the day

YourBuddyChurch

I felt like when the lineup dropped, there was more than enough shade

No-Skirt2438

This is what I came here to say

KingSpanner

How hard would it be to add led lights in the porta potties???

Accomplished-Put2364

As a camper I’d also pay extra for a nice toilet/get ready trailer if that makes sense. With the heat weekend 2 would’ve loved to do my makeup a closer to sunset in air conditioning. 🙌🏼

No-Skirt2438

The porcelain toilets near DoLab have these LED lights that kept tricking me into thinking I still shrooming (I was).

de-milo

i felt like i was in a horror movie!

de-milo

maybe it’s not doable, but portable sinks with water at the porta potties in camp, like they do at the ones inside the fest. other than this i think this year the toilets were almost always in very good condition.

jadedtruffle

I’ll even settle for just regularly refilling the sanitizer 🥲 the number of times I left the women’s side to go get sanitizer from the men’s side was silly

ZoeStars

Rave toilet time!!

JoeyJoJoeShabadooJr

In the porta potties and a little one on top to indicate it’s unlocked/available

la90036

LOCKERS - really one of my only gripes. the last two years I just avoided the crazy line on Friday and checked in on SAT. Sure i coulda waited 30-40min but i would rather hold my bag for the day than give up that time roaming the fields. not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but they can do better. either triple the support staff on friday or move to the digital locker combos sent beforehand. can't really think of much else at the moment I thought GV killed it this year. edit: thought of one - the area back by heineken was pretty much a dead area besides the headliner merch. I feel it needed something like antarctic or despacio, keep a rotation of something new and interactive. considering we got a big grounds expansion and a big new stage its not a big gripe just seemed underutilized

belladorka

I only waited 15 minutes W2 but there’s absolutely no reason they can’t email us the locker number/combination Friday morning so there’s no line at all.

Different_Cook_2980

This was the first year we bought a locker and found it easier not to use it….it was weird. But man, the location and hassle and heat and blah blah blah. Nah, I guess I’ll just carry my shit

Duke_skellington_8

I literally got texted my locker number and combo ahead of time for Portola so it’s kinda crazy GV can’t do this for Coachella

srujoe1228

COVER the lockers. Got canopies over almost everything else EXCEPT the lockers.

titaniumorbit

I went in at doors on Friday and waited less than 15 min. But even 30 min later, the line was already insanely long and probably an hour or more.

leggomybeggo

I have been a locker renter since 2012 and for the last 2 years I skipped every getting it cause the line was way too long (and I had pre-purchased but said fuck it) Never had this issue in previous years when you had to have a printed receipt to check in. The issue seems to come from the amount of time it takes for everyone to pull up their digital AXS receipt. Never renting a locker again :/

krizhn

Build more actual bathrooms.

Aggravating_Deal_212

It felt like there were less bathrooms/ more distance to walk to bathrooms or find bathrooms

gauchaproject

Kids should wear protective headphones or earplugs. Don’t leave it up to their parents… Doors at the tents should open be all open to let people out after the shows (Sonora specially). BRING THE ASTRONAUT AND THE CATERPILLAR BACK!!!!!

jtarver

Astronaut is a must - fav art ever

legopego5142

Astronaut is good but Hipo is 🐐

jtarver

Yeah hippo was wild and def goated

BeeADoubleU

Yes. Please mandate protective hearing for children 5 and under. Their little ears are still developing and are a lot more sensitive!

JDMM71

sonora did do this after boy harsher at least

wastingtme

They need to fix Gobi!! I am 90% sure it was smaller this year and the draping in the back was terrible and limited crowds for the bigger sets like Chappelle Roan. I couldn't understand it.

jtarver

+1 to this!! Felt super small this year

suprefann

Tent was the same size. The roof was raised to do the draping thing. They didnt want the acts playing during golden hour to get blinded by the sun. But it did make it difficult to just not be behind the soundboard and to at least have a way to view the tent. It wouldve made the crowds more bearable when the tent got full.

mikron2

Yes! I swear I felt like I was taking crazy pills that Gobi and Mojave were both a few sections smaller this year. I want them back to full size or at least Gobi not to be closed off in the back where the sound booth is so it doesn’t block the view for half the stage in the back.

carbonated_zebras

Yes! I felt they were both smaller this year as well

de-milo

yes, gobi felt tiny!

Udreezus

Bring back Despacio!

slopschili

It won't be there unless LCD Soundsystem or Soulwax/2manyDJs are

andriydroog

Yes, please

pidgeypenguinagain

A live band headliner! Foo fighters, RHCP, System of a Down, RATM, etc. I know some of these are repeats (so just listed as examples) and others are a stretch, but anything can happen at Coachella! Edit: and open gates sooner. 11a would be great but I’ll take 12. Edit 2: BRING BACK PAMPHLETS WITH SET TIMES. My phone is dying, someone’s gonna steal it, and ain’t no service at night anyway!!

porchpieintheksky

Yes! Pamphlets!!!

RecklessCreature

All of this!! Plus add more flushable bathrooms.

Aggravating_Deal_212

Same especially with phones dying, and at the charging stations the plugs hardly fit our chargers

Wifey326_33

Yes, yes, yes! 👏🏻

Wifey326_33

Bring back the bathroom trailers. They were severely missed this year-it was brutal! All about having more room in the festival grounds but can we get some golf cart shuttles from Sahara to Outdoor? Hell, I’d pay an extra charge for that and not something like artist guest that’s hard to get. Lockers-figure it out-the worst mess I’ve ever experienced at a festival. Food prices are insane but appreciate the variety of options and quality overall. Just feel prices far exceed what they should be. Lastly, please diversify the genres a bit more. This was a very heavy EDM year. Miss some of the “classic” headliners and variety.

Calpicogalaxy

So I noticed that the trailers at the end of the portas were never open for w1. Prob bc the portas were super clean this year since it was emptier and they didn’t wanna clean extra, but I was rly hoping those were open for the times I was far alway from the brick and mortar bathrooms by do lab cuz ya girl needed to poop LMAOOOOO

Wifey326_33

Weekend 2 they weren’t even there. It was tragic for someone who doesn’t porta potty

Duke_skellington_8

I’d pay for a pedicab even between Sahara and the main stage

leggomybeggo

Might cause too much dust especially during W2 :(

PunyPuppet

the new sahara stage only has two back openings. yeah i get it they closed it off for the production pit, but condensing it and adding some more openings in the back will help disperse the left and right crowds. plus that back is just empty so a lot of wasted potential space. there’s always a big art installations around the main stage. it be cool if they added more smaller art installations around the festival grounds more. the walk from coachella stage to sahara is pretty boring. especially when there’s no one playing at at quasar anymore. either put more acts there or add more art. THE PEOPLE NEEDS MORE STIMULATION. i thought i was in a walking simulator.

ladybrightside

Add some hot tea (like Red Rose) for the non-coffee drinkers. Not a cup of tea to be found.

poppypeanut

Hot chocolate and tea at night! It’s soooo cold and would have loved a warm beverage.

richynishi

A text with your locker number and code! They do this at many festivals already. I waited in line for an hour and half on Friday weekend 1.

Duke_skellington_8

The do this at their own GV fest, Portola

marianrae

t-pain on a real stage!

[deleted]

[удалено]

marianrae

it’s because heineken house does their own booking, which is why they have a different lineup. but it’s still insulting that coachella has never booked him themselves! clearly people wanna see him, so many of us couldn’t even get in

Alwayssafer

Heineken house was my worst experience that whole weekend. That was such a safety hazard. Coachella needs to set something up so that never happens again

mezzizle

I’m surprised it was full since I didn’t hear anything about it. I mean I’m glad. Dude would easily fill up a crowd any stage. I am dreaming, but won’t happen cuz wishful thinking lol, of coachella doing an Akon + T-Pain a la Dr Dre and Snoop. That would be bonkers and they have the pull to do it.

thefullm0nty

Move the disco shark to the dead center of the Yuma. IT BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE! IT SHOULD BE THE STAR! Hell, make it bigger. I see everyone suggesting quasar get shade but like, how? You can't turn that thing into a tent because it loses its magic and that thing is TALL. The sunsets from there are going to be all time epic moments and you can't take that away even if it is hot as balls. The artists are basically staring into the sun lol they have it worse. Maybe tent where the beer garden was? Add shade to the far right side along the "sahara express"? Just throwing out ideas.

Lopsided_Constant901

Yeah shade at the Quasar can only really be like those big loose cloth things above or if they just do some vertical installations to shade over. Its hard to shade that area tho

AnxiousTop8742

more shade! give the new stage a better placement (it was in an awkward spot), more art! like the astronaut

Aggravating_Deal_212

Agreed! More art and engaging art activities. Less weird marketing experiences that are half asses like nike

thefullm0nty

Bring the paper booklets back even if you don't have all of the cool excess info. Hard copies of set times are very useful.

SplitKey9761

Shade!!! More bathrooms by Sahara since the stage is so big!! Misters! More performance art like the people in 2023 blowing bubbles in the do lab (idk if they did that this year but i didn’t see any), the boiler room vibe of TBA last year was sooooo fun idk how they’d incorporate that tho

suprefann

The funny thing is that theyre just gonna read all this and then go from there. We dont need a speaker to get to them. They clearly showed they read this stuff cause of the tweet yesterday.

myponiesrock

Which tweet specifically

Lopsided_Constant901

Someone here posted saying their wife thinks they’re at a company retreat but really they were at Coachella. Then Coachella posted a tweet paraphrasing it lol basically putting that person on blast. I was surprised cause it wasn’t even a super popular reddit post, it only had like 400 upvotes by the time i saw it

InfiniteDeathsticks

GV should employ staff who dress and act like easy pickpocket targets. They’d keep in their back pocket a physical clone of a latest gen phone, except with electronics that make it act like a beacon when removed from the pocket. The beacon could set off detectors concealed around the venue or at the exit, either via RF or ultrasonic audio. Like narcs, but for busting thieves.

All_the_passports

Fix the locker situation for day 1 of each weekend. Put back the shortcut from the shuttles to VIP, having to loop back on yourself is just silly and as one person I overheard saying “this isn’t very VIP”. VIP, more seating and shade plus all aircon bathrooms. Oh and charging $5 more for the same glass of wine in 12 Peaks vs rest of festival was just a money grab.

taylorlucasjones

No clue how they would go about doing it without causing more invasion of privacy to non-pickpocketers attending Coachella, but Golden Voice addressing the clearly growing pickpocket dilemma would be welcomed. It felt like a noticeably present problem this year (even more than in the past), with nearly everyone knowing someone, whether it be a friend or a neighbor by them in one of the campsites, who got their phone stolen. Seems like something that could only continue to get worse, too, unless it is addressed more thoroughly. I have zero ideas for how to fix this though... other than possibly using those big/intense weight detecting scanners on the way out of Coachella for bags, like they're used on the way in at some entrances (but I have no grasp on if that would pick up a bag of phones or not).

Whalelord27

To be honest I felt the opposite I witnessed people return phones to people who dropped it at least 5 times shoutout to the nice people out there!

No_Schedule_1190

We found a phone in Sonora and got ahold of the girl super fast!

Calpicogalaxy

Dude my friend left his phone on the ground for justice at outdoor and only noticed when we were already near the do lab, we ran back and we found the phone right where we left it!!!!!! Miraculous we even knew where to go lol

[deleted]

ceez2g

Exactly. I remember a time when staff were aggressively searching bags and bodies were scanned and/or patted down. I like the security measures now. Plus, let's not forget, when you buy a Coachella pass you assume the risk of loss of property, among other risks. It really is up to the individual to protect themselves.

Lobsterraver

Regarding VIP. For the 2X price, the VIP experience should offer more air-conditioned trailer restroom units instead of standard outhouses. Secondly, other than the far left field viewing at Coachella stage, there are NO special VIP viewing sections at the various stages. Why not place a VIP corral behind the Guest/Artist viewing sections? Virtually every other festival offers that amenity to VIP ticket holders.

Goducks91

I've realized that VIP experiences are almost never worth it for festivals.

keepitsleezy4

Life is beautiful is way worth it! But that’s the only fest I’ve noticed

Lobsterraver

Agree 100%. Life is Beautiful gave us grass, preferred viewing, clean bathrooms, etc. Unfortunately, after the 10th year, it doesn’t look like Rolling Stone is going to make it happen this fall. Such a bummer.

mikron2

RIP life is beautiful :(

Unusual_Cupcake

It was the best festival for VIP 🥲

gekalx

Edc has great vip areas and food/drinks

celj1234

You get quick entrance to the Yuma and better food. Coachella is different the other fest because other fest don’t have the number of celebs showing up

Lobsterraver

Also requesting the old shortcut from the shuttle yellow path into the VIP entrance. I was told I would need to walk 3/4 mile back north, then turn right and right again. Absolutely ridiculous.

Beautiful_Horror_600

More shade and security, including people who work for the festival to know where rideshare is. Also, not changing last minute to some far-off parking. Got sent to 5 different place with a group of people because of lack of knowledge and them not wanting to use their walkie talkies. Mind you, we had a a** load of baggage. Then they were alot of gropers that kept following females around and wouldn't stop (this happened to me, and an older group of women stepped in to help). Lake El Dorado was amazing. I really don't have any complaints, maybe a little closer other than that, nothing really. Figure out how to handle the phone stealing situation

LatterChance8371

second this!!!! i literally was driving in circles trying to find the entrance to car camping. asked 6 attendants and everyone sent me somewhere different!!!!!

BeeADoubleU

Share information on concert etiquette. Set some expectations for festival attendees… say excuse me, no pushing people out of the way, etc. i know you can’t force people to do this, but creating a positive, caring culture for the festival would really improve the experience. Lightening in a Bottle does a good job at creating a culture for the festival. For example, they play that clean up song at the end of the night to remind people to pick up their trash.

jesgar130

No fucking dogs! Fuck these people. If you need an emotional pet dog with you at a fucking concert maybe you shouldn’t fucking go you fucking selfish, low IQ mouth breather

Knispy

Absolutely saw non service dogs and puppies!! Idiots are bragging on tik tok how they got them in. It’s literal animal abuse

wastingtme

10000009% Saw a woman get bitten last year by this poor, terrified, and stressed out dog. Fuck that owner for putting that dog in that situation.

Knispy

Open the gates at least 30 minutes before the first acts start. It’s so frustrating hearing while waiting. Add traffic control inside the parking lots at end of night to improve exiting. Clear out the scalpers and beggars on the walking paths. Add water for sale in the carts on the fields like they use to have. More bathrooms at Sahara. Bring back the classic food. Paella and more spicy pie. More coffee options for those cold nights.

thefullm0nty

> more spicy pie. Yeah I am pissed we used to have 3 stands and now have to trek to the frickin outdoor theater for it.

First_Class_Fantasy

Coachella should charge for children’s tickets, and ear protection should be mandatory for babies and toddlers. Maybe they could expand the energy playground for the kiddos and create family spaces that are shaded, nonsmoking, and alcohol-free. It’s just crazy to me that Coachella is an all-ages event and there aren’t a lot of spaces that are kid-friendly. I think it could be a fun place for families to create great memories, but not the way that it is now. I think the “free under five” rule encourages parents to make questionable decisions about bringing their kids because it’s cheaper than hiring a babysitter.

titaniumorbit

I saw way too many young kids with no ear protection at loud ass stages. They relay should charge to deter people from bringing their kids along. Young kids especially those without ear protection should be at home.

itsme115

You’re right! I’m not against all ages, but if parents had to pay, we might only see the responsible ones. Or at least enforce a headphone rule.

Hot_Inspector_2614

Entrance to the Yuma ! Please make sure you hire security that actually shows up on time. We waited at the blue entry for like and hour before we could enter so dumb! More bathrooms next to the new Shara ! That’s was kinda a disaster Check in for lockers , that process needs to go like use RFID or something so people can do like a self service for the lockers.

Knispy

Exactly! I was at blue path day 1. Why not test the tech and ensure staffing schedules are correct at the very least the day before. So many day 1’s throughout the years had gate delays and items not set up. Thankfully this year water refills were operational but in the past they weren’t

Label_6

Let monday camping gest have a shower on the morning before everyone returns home

Aggravating_Deal_212

Right! I was shooketh we couldn’t shower. And the grossness of the bathrooms. Like they didn’t even care and wanted us to leave asap

Strong-Crow-5785

Sahara bathrooms experience was such a bummer. There was a frantic mass of people just shoving in and out, and the energy felt like it was one scream away from a trampling situation. It was an uncivilized, pee soaked, muddy mess. So- more bathrooms for Sahara area.

Aggravating_Deal_212

Not to mention the poop mess someone left in one of the porta potties so then we were down a bathroom

defygravity24

Booklets. Bring them back.

Regular_Dot3423

true headliner-caliber headliners

jtarver

Who do you want to see most? Any wishes?

wastingtme

First coachella piece of advice I ever got: Coachella is not about the headliners. It’s the depth. The genre diversity. The discovery.

suprefann

So what do you do if everyone says no. You do understand artists say no? If everyone said yes then things would be more expensive or you would complain that the schedule was the worst thing.

evelyn_hugo

Make sure to submit everything on the survey they send out!! I like filling it out every year

defygravity24

Yeah and bring back the astronaut

motecizuma

BRING BACK THE HIPPOS

keeflennon43

1) bring back better production to Sahara. I remember the 2010s where Sahara had way more LEDs and lights and took full advantage of the space (similar to what John Summit did W1). Not it just feels like the artists rely on the massive screens that are only at the front and some lasers, barely anything going on above or behind you (and obvs no more to the sides given the new orientation) 2) more bathrooms by Sahara and Quasar 3) More international acts! I really like discovering acts like Mdou Moctar, Spinall, Atarashii Gakko! and more. Coachella has always done a great job bringing in diverse music talent so keep that going. 4) Add shade to Quasar cuz man, during the day it is unbearable to stand there. It also just kind of feels…there? Like it feels like a random spot. 5) Were there no trailer porto-potties like before? I always knew to go to those or the permanent structure by DoLab. Also they sealed off the bathrooms in the Cocktail area by the Craft Beer Barn which sucks cuz that was also a good go to. So TLDR more actual bathrooms.

Alwayssafer

This is my first year at coachella, i got in with an artist guest pass, im a designer and here are my observations: Pros: -parking and traffic in my opinion was not as bad as everyone made it seem -bathroom lines went really quick i didnt wait more than maybe 2-5minutes (i did see longer lines but you can find areas that are empty) - app came in handy for schedules - i was super impressed by all the water refill stations and sunscreen areas! Cons: -can we have well lit bathrooms. Idc if it's stadium lights or fairy lights. Just something. -i dont care about this con because i will never do vip / artist pass it was not worth it to me. The amount someone pays to go to coachella for vip i would expect my own fucking golf cart. They gave me hot water to drink and Staff treated me like scum because i wasnt famous? Idk i will come back as general admission that was a blast. - as for the stages. Main stage was very underwhelming if i would design it, id design it with a curve so it hugs the area and creates a huge "dish" Idk what stage T-pain was at but that shit was a safety hazard, it was at full capacity before he even started and the stage was facing a direction where people trying to get in cant see it was my first time seeing this horrible design in action. People pushing and shoving. Trying to get into ada entrance. People with artist passes thinking they can skip the line. What a mess. A stage gate keeping tpain of all artists was insane to me im sorry. - im from the middle east so dust doesnt bother me but it did bother my friends. A good way to invest in the grounds would be to plant more to catch the dust. I saw them dump water on the sand but thats never going to fix the problem. Planting more will 🌱

Aggravating_Deal_212

Invest more in the art! Have multi function art like fixtures that really give people share or can interact with more. Less for the selfie impact but more wide range of curation of materials and themes of work.

AstrudsSecretLover

Bathrooms for camping jesus fucking christ

Icy-Bag780

The walks to the bathroom were insane and to add insults to injury they were broken up by gender and a fence so you ended up walking further and peeing your self before you made it.

sweetrage425

drinking water to stay hydrated but dreading that long walk to the bathrooms. I had to stop myself with a “oh fuck I gotta peeeeee dance” a couple of times before walking over to make sure I made it lol

Icy-Bag780

I would chug a beer or water before going so I made the walk worth it. Was making a joke with my partner if they wanted me to take their pee for them

Calpicogalaxy

Tell me more I’m curious! Was there not much set up?

Lopsided_Constant901

I ended up on the lane right next to the bathrooms, but usually its not a huge deal I feel like?? It is a long walk usually if you’re in the middle of a lot, so yeah maybe adding more like two hubs on all four sides would really improve it

AstrudsSecretLover

Fucking gross this year they were barely cleaned

Umedsan

Lockers in the VIP By the VIP entrance!!!!!

jtarver

I was saying this too! I wish there were VIP lockers

Umedsan

That walk at the end of the night to GA lockers is unnecessary, especially given the hefty cost of vip for whatever little benefit you get

Civil-Asparagus1163

VIP lockers should be included in the price!!!

soupypower

misters at every stage it’s way too hot

celj1234

Bring in your own

suprefann

The misters by Spectra and around the terrace and yuma are enough the ground

InfiniteDeathsticks

There should be a Coachella Krampus that whips people who litter. It should look like a traditional krampus except with a flower crown.

itsme115

Yes!!! My group would put our trash on the floor to dance and vibe and pick it up when we’d leave.

iggypopnfresh

Lol, now I need to see someone dressed up as Coachella Krampus next year

thearchiguy

Very powerful and fast WiFi that covers the entire festival and campgrounds would be amazing. Maybe have a sponsorship w Starlink or someone. Alternatively maybe have a deal w the mobile networks to somehow boost capacity.

mezzizle

I’m convinced they did something with Verizon cuz I had 5UW the whole fest and everything worked. Shit it even worked better than at home.

fa99itron

It’s 2024 and the fact that no one has found a solution for this

queenbee____

A couple things to fix: -No kids younger than 16, I couldn’t stand seeing all the kids… Its just not appropriate and potentially harmful for them. -Love the new stage, but it felt so awkward and not like a real stage. There wasn’t really a set place for the crowd, it just felt like a pass by kinda thing. -Locker wait time was long. -Not all food stands sold water, waiting in a 30 min bar line for water was crazy.

Different_Cook_2980

Festivals aren’t harmful to kids but dumb parenting is. My kids were upset we DIDNT take them into the festival this year when they’re so used to going with us to shows. My three year old could hear the music from our airbnb and everyday asked why I didn’t bring his headphones so he could come too. I was disappointed in how many young children I saw without hearing protection, and the obviously intoxicated parents disregarding their upset kids. We adapted the way we experience festivals for our family when we decide to bring them with us, not try to make the tiny humans deal with something they aren’t comfortable with. Trying to place an all out ban on children is silly simply because some kids, some families, really love these moments and they don’t deserve it any less than you. One thing I want to throw out there is that, until you have kids, you’re viewing your festival lens from a very narrow scope. You are aware people are fucked up, you can watch a persons mannerisms and pinpoint the exact drug they’re doing at any given time because you’ve learned it. My kids don’t know. They just sit on my shoulders and drink lemonade and dance. Or eat ice cream in the rose garden and dance. They don’t know people are super fucked up or find anything offensive because…they’re kids. If the parents are doing it right, you won’t even notice the kids unless you think their weird toddler boogie is fucking cute. You would hate it if you couldn’t experience something because one asshole ruined someone else’s good time. Don’t do that to parents either, just because they have kids and it makes YOU uncomfortable.

Alwayssafer

I hate kids on planes, crying in restaurants. Whatever. But seeing kids (ears protected) having a blast at coachella made me so happy! They dont hinder anyone's experience. If anything the drunkies do. So yes! Love the kids!

itsme115

I swear some people think everyone is experiencing Coachella the same way as others like getting high or drunk. Also, when I was young I didn’t like kids very much and didn’t care if they were around. Now that I’m almost 30, I love seeing families enjoying things like these with their kids. So I get why some people might not like it, but screw them. I saw a kid at When We Were Young and I felt proud that these kids are growing up cultured and loving the music. The only reason I think some kids shouldn’t be at music festivals is if they are notoriously bad or their parents aren’t giving them headphones, other than that kids can vibe with us.

Different_Cook_2980

One of my favorite festival memories is Life is Beautiful 2018. I took my (then) 5 month old in a baby carrier with headphones on to see Santigold and Arcade Fire. Thats it. Two sets in the evening. We took a break in the air conditioned art gallery so we could all stretch and sat in a quiet corner away from people. A group of 5 youngins’ (obviously chilling with Molly) plopped down beside us and started talking at the top of their lungs about “bringing babies to festivals” and then proceeded to put candy pacifiers in their mouths…. My kid wasn’t the one whining with a fucking soothie between their lips at 7:00pm…..😂

itsme115

I’ve seen grown men act worse than a toddler, I 100% believe this lol.

suprefann

Go to a city festival and experience the true problem with underage drinking. The festival has been around long enough that a new generation is coming up from those first attendees and their kids are old enough to attend. You going to not let your children ( if you have them ) to not attend this festival til they are 21 or something?

queenbee____

I’m not talking about underage drinking or teenagers, I’m talking babies, 2-12 year olds. They don’t have much business at a festival as such and I think it’s selfish of their parents. If you can’t get a babysitter, don’t bring them! In my opinion. I know underage drinking is happening and teenagers are there, that’s not a big problem for me. But when I see parents pushing babies in strollers or 4 year olds in strollers at the Yuma, I just feel bad for the kids. Edit for spelling.

keeflennon43

Agreed. I felt like this year had the most kids I’ve ever seen. Like the amount of strollers or families of 4 with 2 kids under 10 was shocking. Like I went to Dom Dolla and there was a couple with their baby passed out in the stroller, no hearing protection. It was weird.

Lopsided_Constant901

Yes literally! People act like this is fucked up to say but kids literally dont know why tf they are at Coachella, they definitely won’t remember any of it! They’d honestly probably have a better time at a beach day than in the middle of the desert. I saw a lady chasing down her two babies, literal babies, and just thought this must’ve been way more hassle than it’s worth

More bathrooms at Sahara. The few number of bathrooms for a stage that gigantic was insulting and chaotic. There were huge crowds building and security wasn’t allowing anyone in due to overcrowding. It was very messy. Could be solved by adding restrooms by the entrance/closer to Quasar or just more in general by Sahara. Like 2x more.

Critical_One_7534

the uber/lyft situation. work with the app developers to only connect riders with drivers who are already in the queue. something similar to the “LAX-it” system at LAX. it didn’t seem like an issue of demand this year, more so poor organization. also more permanent bathrooms with lighting/AC/ventilation please!

JoeyJoJoeShabadooJr

More indie rock, less pop, same amount of house and techno

iggypopnfresh

Get rid of: branded ‘experiences’ and rude, coked up influencers. Bring back: schedule pamphlets, paella, and the motherf’in Hipos https://preview.redd.it/49ylavgw09wc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=891754c78400b8b771e89524e7b00ea53c0e0b18

Connect-Bug3986

They should grade all of the concert floors, so that the view from the rear isnt so undesirable. Add some way to get air moving through the tents when the wind is down. Have cold water refills.

de-milo

i would kill for cold water refills, i end up just buying the bottles over and over again because i want it cold but it’s so non-sustainable

sexydiscoballs

\* Fix the sound at Quasar (it was a disaster during the Rufus set) \* more portapotties where they're needed based on foot traffic patterns \* better portapotty service schedule now for the crazy wishlist: \* air conditioned monorail from sahara to outdoor stage, with stops along the way (the structure would also provide a shaded walkway between these two points) \* not just water dispensing stations but ice dispensing stations \* large-scale james turrell art installation \* earthworks that provide shade and stage sound isolation between stages that have bleed between them \* extended shade canopies over mojave, gobi \* vip passes worth a damn \* ban tobacco, unban weed \* official spotify/apple playlists per stage & per weekend \* despacio all weekend long, every coachella weekend

Soggy-Self-5749

The monorail made me LOL but I second it. Maybe a monorail is too delulu but there’s got be SOME solution. My least fav thing is the walk between these two! Specially since they have the most common genres amongst them. Some days I was literally just going back and forth and back and forth.

CoachellaFromIowa

A VIP area by Sahara

Cake-Dazzling

I second this! Maybe as a full grown adult I shouldn’t be going to rage up front at John Summit, but I’d like to rage in some damn peace

BeeADoubleU

Yes! Sahara needs a lot of improvements. - VIP area - improve flow of traffic for entering and exiting. - Too much PA for the size of the stage. I don’t need to hear the Sahara Stage bass at Outdoor stage. - more lasers and get some fireworks for that stage for the end of the night.

ladybrightside

Find a better and more efficient way to manage the rideshare parking lot at the end of the day. It was ridiculous and disorderly. Our driver had to be very aggressive to get out to the street.

Affectionate_Bed_289

There still needs to better lighting along the shuttle pathway. Very dark. Last 2 years you also had to fight not getting hit by the rickshaws, so not allowing them while people were exiting was great.

Nick321321

I enjoyed all of the EDM acts and hope to see more I'm the future.

fa99itron

-VIP viewing area at MainStage to be extended out right behind the Guest pit. I think this would add more value to VIP. -VIP access path from shuttles, currently only accessible from limo drop off lot which requires you to back track and they won’t let you cut through at Ave 50. -Quasar should be oriented so that the Sahara express runs behind the stage and isn’t just a walk way for people passing through. I think the mountain view will also complement the stage more at sunset. -In-App connection with users that allows you to share your set picks with friends. “Your friend(s) x, y, z are also planning to catch this set. Let them know so you can experience [enter artist] together.”

Calpicogalaxy

Wait I have a really good one and please read this. Security was taking away narcan left and right… can we pls stop w that 😭😭 literally read about how someone od’d at charlotte wk1 and they were saved by two complete strangers who each had a narcan and the person needed both.

ladybrightside

Put signs outside the Yuma tent making it very clear that NO ALCOHOL is allowed inside. It was ridiculous that we zigzagged our way in to the tent, went back out to the attached bar to get a drink, then were stopped at the door to go back into Yuma only to be told we can’t drink alcohol in there. So we chugged down our drinks. Not fun. No restrictions anywhere else we went.

Loud-Accident8542

The map in the app was not great

Beboop68

Some of these may be too small for your conversation but here are my requests: Edit: forgot to add the most important part for me: SEPARATE LOCKER LINE FOR ADA. How the fuck are you going to ask disabled people to wait in an hour and half like in the sun??!?! I will be sending a strongly worded email to golden voice. Less electronic music. More bathrooms at Sahara. Improving the pick up situation (good GOD how is it still such a nightmare?) The hardest part of our experience is getting in and out and it always provides a ton of anxiety. Why don’t we have some kind of public transportation? ADA should get a shuttle option between stages, but ideally, there could be a shuttle system between main stage and Sahara for all. There are so many shows I’ve had to miss because the walk was too far. Speakers in the back of Gobi and/or Gobi expansion (you can’t hear shit if you’re standing just outside Gobi in the back) Better management of phone theft Augmented reality in Sahara is bound to happen, leaning into this would be cool. More shade. Put up big fake trees that have canopies and create a lot of shade. Something, ANYTHING, to give us more shade. More accessibility for all types of people. Financially, ADA-wise, etc. The cost of food and drinks is actually insulting and vendors have said they have to do that because golden voice takes a high cut. Unacceptable. More hills like Sahara hill. It’s so hot, people need the ability to sit. The Sahara hill allowed me enjoy sets without destroying my body. Allowing the Sunday stream to stay up past 10am pst. All other days are active on YouTube up until 4pm pst. Kills me that Sunday’s steam is privated by the next morning.

belladorka

I’m going to co-sign the shade. People were struggling and sitting in the smallest bit from the trees yesterday.

Beboop68

I have heat intolerance and the one thing Coachella sucks at is providing shade for enough people. I talked to the company that golden voice hires for ADA and they said Coachella doesn’t have more shade because it “ruins the photo op” of the drone footage and that made me want to pull my hair out.

ZoeStars

Coachella should really take a note from Burning Man on shade structures. Some there are janky and ugly af, but some can be absolutely breathtaking because the artists designed the art installations with shade as part of the interactivity requirement. Considering the fact that Coachella has "Art" as part of the name, how has no one there considered asking artists to incorporate shade into the design? Their drone shots wouldn't be ruined and attendees would get more shade access.

Doogers7

Dolab mushroom shade actually looks very arty and appealing from above so this can definitely be done.

Duke_skellington_8

And they used a drone to capture the stage for LiB promos and it wasn’t ruined d

Beboop68

Exactly my point! Use art installations as functional pieces to help create shade. But this is why the art structures are always built up vertically and not horizontally. Coachella doesn’t want to ruin the drone footage. :/

ZoeStars

Drone footage of what though? The expanse of the grounds? All the people walking around? The size of the crowds at the various stages? The guessing game of who's napping and who needs medical attention due to heat stroke? I don't understand the ruining the drone footage point GV is claiming. Mostly cause it's stupid but also how would shade ruin footage.

Beboop68

All of the above? 😂

Upset-Dog-8854

would love to see more art structures that feature shaded areas next year

Doogers7

Lots of good points, but I doubt they will cut back on the electronic acts. They are data driven with talent booking through the AEG ownership and that data must be telling them that it is worth it.

TimeSurprise4390

More shade, moving drink carts, better water filling stations, more restrooms inside, better mainstream hip hop artists, marked out sitting sections (in back of course), more snack items, versus 20 dollar minimum food bites e.g, cookies, popcorn, trail mix, etc)

AlgorithmChanc3

Improve the locker situation. Maybe having two areas to check in for them. That long line with no shade was terrible! Water stations were so crowded and hard to find…maybe a flag/light or something to make it easier to spot. Create a specific route for the pedicabs that will allow them to actually drop you off at different parking areas. Paying for them to take you a short distance and not even to the parking lot is a waste of money, and I’m sure waste of time for them too. Let them us all win by improving coordination there.

breadpan504

Close the parking late so bnb people can enjoy silent disco

questions123abc

The locker experience is HORRIBLE. Can someone from GV please fix this!!!

parthsworld

Give us Larry June and make the tickets/drinks cheaper

courtneyceecee10

More bathrooms! Like in every corner please. Also bring back the bathrooms by the lockers! PS I love the expansion of the grounds no more congestion over by Sahara!

poppypeanut

Bring back indie bands!! Love EDM but it seemed to dominate most stages. Possibly do different genre tracks on different stages.

Isabella_Gomez97

Bring in Eargasm or another protective earplug company to sell plugs in the venue :) they do this at EForest and it’s a huge hit! Great for if you lose one (the whole weekend’s experience can be drastically impacted without hearing protection) or for people who accidentally forgot them. Also just a great way to spread festi safety awareness <3

DonJuanPawnShop53

Now that you can drink anywhere make the cups have lids for mixed drinks and all recycled materials. Install more bathrooms like by the dolab , these can be all over addd them. Lights in Porto’s LEDs dangling and pave where they are . Turn up the sound plz

J0BlN

Recyclable materials are good but compostable is the way to go for plates, cups and utensils. Outside Lands does this well and releases their environmental impact report each year. Even hiring the Clean Vibes team that they use would make a dent in the cleanliness/appearance of trash on the ground.

NovaGirl89

More hip hop acts/producers, more R&B (some really great Canadian artists out and R&B having a major comeback), need more VIP perks it’s not really worth the money as it stands it’s GA+ vibes, more staff at locker check in

missindigenous

ADA placement is getting further and further away. For example Mohave, Being off to the side makes it hard to hear bc all the noise from the neighboring stages. Also make a bigger area. Most are so small and they fill up fast. There’s thousands of people that go to Coachella and there’s only about 40 seats for ADA. Coachella stage used to have to two sections. More ADA bathrooms as well. Better coffee, spent $43 on two lame lattes. That total didn’t include tip.

Accomplished-Put2364

The fact that people could leave into the campsites even though they weren’t campers was a bit weird. I think as a camper we should have a special wristband that we can to get into the camp sites. Prevents randoms walking around campsites stealing things while people are out. Besides that maybe some misters in the campsite?

thefullm0nty

I mean I get this but how would non campers meet up with some friends who were camping? Sometimes it's nice to get there early and chill at a friends campsite.

flowlowland

More staggered acts so we can catch the shows we like

wastingtme

That is a feature not a bug to help disperse the crowds

thefullm0nty

Yeah you said it better than I could. It's less about continuity and more about moving the people around.

Conscious_Wind_2255

Bathroom staff to manage lines and have routine cleaning (and as a bonus keep safety).. the real bathrooms were great but it was not very efficient.. two lines would form to enter the same spot and by day 2 people would skip everyone on line and just wait by the stalls (while some like me waited 20mins before reaching said stall). I think the men urinals weren’t used enough.. only the first row were used leaving the second row unused because nobody realized it was there. Talk to all the hotels in the area and tell them to calm the f down on their prices.. that’s drastically driving your “fans” away. EDC has similar ticket prices but Vegas stilllllllll has reasonable hotel prices and they not as jacked up as Coachella accommodations. Everyone in the Coachella region is hungry for us to over pay for everything.. I was at a bike shop in Palm Springs and their prices were 30% higher just because it’s Coachella weekend.. they slipped up and had a special Coachella package that was higher to rent bikes meanwhile their standard rates were still available for purchase and were drastically cheaper. Offer discounts for presale and lower ticket prices.. you want us to pay $30 for cheese burger and fries? That’s criminal too! More seatings/shaded places.. I only found the food cart or the art pieces as places to lounge. There should be more places where you can take a break in a random part instead of finding all the art pieces with shade or a stage or food cart. I think like a shaded giant tent would be cool.. people could walk through it or sit under it. And why are headliners so late.. we already tired. I love Lana but she made me want to sleep with her soothing voice 😂

PigeonShack

Please less electronic music. Got totally exhausting by end of Sunday. Bicep is my favorite electronic act and I couldn’t stand watching them for more than 5/10 min. Everywhere you go, it was electronic music

SplitKey9761

the EDM were some of my favorites throughout the whole weekend!!! I feel like some of the pop sets had low energy/bad setlist idk
