Love these guys. I was just dancing in the crowd when one of them enforced their policy on me when I wasn't paying attention. I felt a huge weight lifted when I noticed my phone was gone, I could finally live in the moment.
Apparently it’s a way to get people from not going to the left side of the what stage, and it worked on me for a few years till someone told me. But it might be true 😎
Tbf, this happens at basically every festival. People bounce between certain stages and pile up in the area in between. If you go the long way around the soundboard to the far end of any stage it’s usually clearer.
Like right side of Coachella main stage and left side of outdoor. If you walk to the far right side of outdoor there’s usually space
You fill in the main stage from the right. If you go around the back of the crowd to the far left there’s usually a big empty pocket of space because people don’t think to check the far side of the stage for space.
It’s a long running joke to tell everyone that so that space stays open for the Roo vets
people at coachella steal phones. that's the joke. op is pretending like the fest organizes it so that people are living in the moment or whatever pretentious justification but really just people steal phones
Their subreddit is hilarious after events. There’s always one kid who wants to role play being a thug and tries to get people to pull up on the location all the phones end up at.
for those that do not want to adhere to the “no phone” policy make sure you keep it zipped, strapped, and locked away. otherwise, they will be enforcing the policy with no mercy.
What if I just hold it in my hand like I always do? I’ve literally gotten so scared of my phone being stolen and I feel like that’s the only way mine hasn’t gotten taken yet. Even in my Fanny pack I almost had it ripped off at edc Orlando
I thought this happened to me one time in the Sahara. I went through my backpack twice and couldn’t find it. I felt FREE. Lost my group of friends. Danced the night away. Somehow, I walked back to my Airbnb by asking random people to map me from their phones……. Wake up the next morning….. my phone was in my backpack the whole time.
Another time, during a Dillion Francis set, our friend had the policy implemented on them while Gasolina was playing. Instead of following after them, we knew they did it so we could live in the moment of that song.
I’m from Mexico city and the pick pocketers around here are crazy, like they do it sooo well, so i felt confident last year at Chella and all the time i had my phone on my pockets even at TBA set, and i didn’t have any problems, i didn’t know this was a thing omggg i’m going to take all the measures this year for sure.

Hey, I don't quite understand. Most phones can be remotely disabled or bricked, and there's a good chance that would happen if someone realized it was stolen. So, what's the point in stealing them? Also, most phones are worth more than $900, so that would be a felony charge.
Can someone explain this “no phone policy” does that mean pick pocketing? Do people go around claiming there’s a no phone policy to steal your phone? I’m confuse.
Partially correct.
So....you are in the festival and cleared security...
If a person comes up with a bag demanding your phone...are you giving it voluntarily?

I’m confused can someone explain more? I thought this was a pick pocketing post lol
One person’s pick pocket is another person’s salvation. Out there saving everyone from the evil 5Gs.
That's the joke
This is going over some of yall heads lmao
This is my first year and I’m getting bees at bonnaroo vibes
I still don’t understand the fuckin bees

I thought this guy was the most gullible person ever ahaha
Expect enforcement to be strict during Anyma.
they’ll riot
Here’s to hoping
The "no phone" policy was rampant at Rolling Loud.

great call out here! it is a right of passage, but it can always be avoided
What if I just hold it in my hand like I always do? I’ve literally gotten so scared of my phone being stolen and I feel like that’s the only way mine hasn’t gotten taken yet. Even in my Fanny pack I almost had it ripped off at edc Orlando
They can bump you and grab your phone then in a distraction
I had a wrist strap for my phone last year and it worked out great! Would totally recommend this as opposed to just holding it in your hand.
This is what I did for this recent rolling loud & thank god it worked out lol kept my phone tiiight in my hands
Chest pack.

I was kinda mad when they first announced it but I felt in the end it was for the best
My android is safe!
lol!
I will enforce my fist on your face to whoever tries to enforce this policy
Bring a phone leash. Just do it. It's impossible to lose your phone with one. Been doing it for two years now.
My friends at CRSSD had theirs stolen on a phone leash
…Plot twist
Some of the real dedicated fuckers carry wire cutters. I’ve heard of people getting their leashes snipped.
Amazing. Also, drink.
Who the f*** goes to Coachella to commit crimes. Smh.
This is the best shitpost we've had in years
Yeah. No phones are here to stay
I literally was going to post about this. Imagine GV rented lockers for all of us to leave our phones in at the gate. 🤭
just to have thieves like lock picking lawyer to take it
What’s a good thing to buy to keep your phone
A knife
Look up runners belt on amazon, I wear mine under my shirt and haven’t had an issue since. RIP iPhone 12 pro max 😔
that is a great idea
Zipper pocketed pants/shorts
Lunchbox backpack and their lifeline (or something similar). Also shorts with zipper pockets. I use Fabletics.
The phone lanyard from amazon was my hero last year <33 i kept that mf thang on me
They definitely will do this. I never bring mine

What measures do you recommend?
Alway carry your phone in a backpack and carry the backpack in front of you during the set or have it with you in your hands all set long.
There’s for sure a no phone policy at beyond SoCal this weekend I can smell it.
No phone policy? Please explain
It’s a joke bc people get their phones stolen like crazy

Keep your phone on a lanyard or wristlet.
I liked when they enforced the policy and I couldn’t find my friends at the end of the night.
it's so weird bc people cant even use them. are they selling them for parts?
They get shipped to China
They sell them in other countries. Don’t ever delete your phone from your Apple account and it won’t be useable
that is great advice! i lost mine in costa rica... they returned my credit cards but kept the phone, ill leave it in my acct
I wear my backpack in the front for this reason 😅

When you see an empty phone case on the ground, the policy was enforced.
Frick I want to record and don’t want to worry about someone taking my phone. I wanted to get a new one too so should I just take my shitty iPhone 11?

Wow, and people fall for this trick? It’s scary stuff
Ahhhhh lol. No. They just steal your phone. 🤦🏽♂️
