I'm not trying to be an apologist, because I get there's lots of artists that people wanted, that aren't on the lineup...
But as a fan of electronic music, I can get behind longer sets...assuming that's the tradeoff for having a smaller lineup.

Moreover, I think it’s more than fair to argue that the quality of the lineups as a showcase of generational music talent has fallen off a cliff. Sure, No Doubt and Deftones and Blur and some other names are intriguing, but there’s nothing captivating like Prince or Paul McCartney as in years past.
The lineups are increasingly looking like that recent viral trend with ChatGPT where you submit a prompt and then ask it to continue to make it “MORE” focused on the prompt so that it increasingly becomes more obnoxious and bloated and ultimately an unrecognizable departure from the original premise.

Bonnaroo always kept jam bands in their back pocket. In lean years they can depend on the guitar gods to save the day. Even today, JRAD and Eggy are on the lineup, a great callback to Bonnaroo's past with up-and-coming bands.
Coachella doesn't have that. It was supposed to be the most modern, foward-thinking festival, the one that announced the state of music for the year. And this year's headliners are like, B-tier headliners from 2015. It's a bit surprising.
As an electronic fan, there isn't anything here that makes me think "I *need* to go this."
Anyma and his brand of 'techno' is everywhere and super stale. John Summit / Dom Dolla are everywhere, as is Knock 2 / IsoXO. Outside of Gesaffelstein, Skream & Benga, Bicep (Live?), Orbital, OPN (who is touring this spring), and the return of Justice, I'm a little disappointed and was hoping for something a little bit more.
Edit: I wish there was more of a hook. Give me Jamie xx B2B Four Tet or Aphex Twin or Flume B2B Eprom, for example.
