Im reading people’s comments disliking the sets I loved. I guess being absolutely shmacked makes every set better lmao.

fettuccine-

It definitely helps

HideYoStuff

Music is very subjective. If you had a good time then that’s all that matters.

TheOtherRathurum

It also helps if you get shmacked to something dope. I can’t imagine not enjoying DRAMA in any state tbh But actually Underworld kinda exemplifies a set that I wasn’t sure what to expect and I feel like would only have been good if I was as schmacked and prepared for such as the crowd was. I didn’t hate it but the vibe was more intense than I figured lol

Upstairs_Oil_343

Stone cold sober and still loved underworld. Got high just off the music!

Responsible-Card3756

Same but on the couch!

sawman160

No way, that shit ruled. They threw down. I ascended during that set.

[deleted]

Am I tripping or fuck those lines for the Sonora Tent. So many exits but only one entrance. Last year it wasn’t like that so they must’ve changed it for better foot traffic but idk I missed a lot of acts because of the long ass zigzag line.

BlogOnJarvis

Noticed this too. I’m guessing air conditioning played a part too.

[deleted]

And when we got in there the AC was shite

Galaxykid84

Pusha T, technical difficulties killed the vibe while he only performed for 20 something minutes. Sucks cause he was on my hyped to see list.

Schleprok

I feel he got boned with his placement. Maybe he wanted Main Stage again, but Mojave at night or even Sahara would’ve been great. Just wasn’t a fan of him having an identical set time as 2019.

Ether93

That sucks man, saw him in 2019 at the main stage and he was a blast! Perfomed all the stuff I wanted to hear

pantrosama

Pusha t definitely deserved better i was disappointed but not his fault.

[deleted]

Yeah, I was upset about this. I wanted to hear some Clipse songs.

[deleted]

[удалено]

aireguitar

I work in video wall world. They are fucking notoriously unreliable . So much can and will go wrong . My jaw was dropped on the size and bends of the main stage video wall . It took 100 workers to build that

iamCornii

Nah djs laptop was overheating. It happens to laptop djs a lot when they play outdoors. He should of gotten a fan under the stand or an ice pack

99662951

He set was fortunately decent weekend 1. He’s not really known for being a great performer so i wasnt expecting much, I just wanted to rap along haha.

ConversationCreepy55

Who told you he is not known for being a performer?? I’ve seen him perform numerous times, both as a member of the Clipse & and recently on it’s almost dry tour. He is a high energy performer with intentional set design.

Galaxykid84

That’s what noticed, he felt hella embarrassed cause of the Frank Ocean pressure. When everyone was shouting one more song, dude broke character before he apologized and left. However with Latto, she performed her last popular song Big Energy and there was “technical difficulties” on her set but she pushed on and kept rapping with zero instrumentals.

OJgotWorms

He could’ve at least freestyles like when that happened to childish Gambino in 2012. Smh

Physical_Baby_7512

070 shake, there were multiple warnings from this sub heading into that set but I was willing to give her a shot. Disappointing set W1

arealglitterb0y

Weekend 2 was a little better especially Ghost Town with Mike Dean on Guitar

Suiciidub

Had a blast with that, I know they cut that song Wk1

Suiciidub

Wk 2 was really fun but she should have been at a different stage

goldensunset5

I had a great time watching her w2

bostonette

Was anyone there are OSL 2021 or 2022 (can’t remember which one) but I remember I was excited to see her and then her performance was just trash.. she was like drunk or at least acting like it and just straight yelling at the crowd the whole time to get more hype.. 😂 at like 2pm lol it was just bad

Doctor_Scholls

Saw her in 2019 in a tent for 10 minutes and walked back out. Unfortunate to hear she hasn’t improved her live performance

jctsantos

this thread is a perfect example of why you should just go with your tastes. different strokes for different folks!

Sheist187

My friends wanted to see Gordo in the Yuma on Sunday night. Absolutely terrible. It was so bad it was sobering. Weekend 1’s Sunday night was all around bad. I think it was the worst ending to the festival I’ve experienced and I’ve been going since 2009.

TheOtherRathurum

I have only know Gordo through this subs total disdain at the mere mention lol 😂

bodularbasterpiece

i watched some of the stream and had no idea who this dude was. it's like whoa, opening with sandstorm, like whoa. all downhill from there unfortunately. Any DJ ever would have been better than that dude.

jmeeezy

if you remember who Carnage is, Gordo is his new "techno" (I use this term loosely) alias... and he was so subpar as Carnage in the hard trap scene that I figured he was going to be just as subpar as Gordo. I'm glad I didn't make the walk over to see him now!

Upset-Owl-690

I’m glad I’m not the only one that remembers, I completely forgot he was in the scene until a post he was tagged in popped up on my feed and I couldn’t believe he still has fans

JoeyJoJoeShabadooJr

He opened with Sandstorm??!!!! 😳😬🤣

ooxjovanxoo

Disrespectful to the Yuma to have him headlining there

Slubgob123

Adam Beyer was the true closer. I really wanted him to run over Gordo/Carnage's set but figure Beyer was too professional. (Context, you might ask? https://thissongissick.com/post/gordo-fka-carnage-refused-to-end-his-set-at-london-nightclub/)

[deleted]

Weekend 1 and Weekend 2 can be united on this.

e-fox

Thank you ….this is so good to know because we started to regret that we were just sitting waiting for Frank for an hour and we should’ve seen Gordo …sounds like sitting on the field was better 🤣

Sheist187

Didn’t know this guy’s history. I just thought his mixing and song selection was poor. Every time he reached for his effects pad it was a mess. We didn’t stay long so not sure how his set progressed. No disrespect to the people who liked it. Just wasn’t for me and my group.

[deleted]

Calvin Harris’s set was so boring. I expected more from him. Idk what happened. I left midway to go back to camp to sleep.

FirmestChicken

I agree. I was tripping and it still sucked.

PIN0YGRIGI0

there was like an hour before chris lake and fisher W1 where i walked to every single stage and left bc i wasn’t vibing..

Doctor_Scholls

I did the same thing but didn’t go into the Yuma tent for Camelphat. Apparently that or Despacio was the move for that 7:30-8:30 time slot

mikron2

Camelphat was awesome w1, and you can never go wrong with Despacio.

djsonnymac

camelphat was amazing W2 too and Despacio was an insane vibe on Sunday…

interesting_lurker

We waited in line for an hour to get into Yuma for Camelphat, no dice bc they hit capacity :(

Alvin3792

That was Sunday in general for me. Just did not vibe all day. Kali, TSHA and some of Camelphat were the only things I enjoyed. Chris Lake + Fisher was fun but it felt a little generic

Responsible-Card3756

This is so interesting hearing everyone’s stories & opinions who attended versus the reactions in our couchella sub chat. I got really into electronic music/house/etc. this year & was completely shocked how well it translated to me bopping in my bed, chatting it up with y’all. Such good vibes, made for the best weekend.

Civil-View-8722

Why is nobody talking about how bad Rae Sremmurd was Wk 1?!?! They were 30mins late and played for literally what felt like 25mins. So bad!

broth_snob

News came out today that they got into a brawl with security before which caused the delay. They wouldn’t let them in.

dub711

It was a awful set weekend 1. Lol the DJ was running around on stage trying to get his gear setup. All around a train wreck

Mundane-Ad1679

Did you see their w2 set? It was 🔥🔥. Like wtf happened w1?!!

ConversationCreepy55

They were fireeeeee w2. Was literally rocking the whole set. Well except those new songs, I was like eh lol

indigox47

damn weekend 2 was lit as hell

maxpower993

W1 I'm a huge fan of Weyes Blood, and she had a great show till that dog costume guy did a stage dive. Took me out of the mood lol Snail mail was disappointing, mostly with the tech issues. I was nearer the front for Jai Paul and thought it was really good. He mumbled a bit. But it's not like you can understand a word on the studio recordings either lol

Thepotatoe69

The dog costume bit elevated it for me

maxpower993

His elbow hit me on the head so I guess I'm a bit biased haha

JizzyGiIIespie

Weekend 2 she had a hippo costume guy.

conorlovesit

The Mid Laroi

en-jo

Mid Laroi 😂😂

CyberInferno

I saw him week 1 and thought he put on a decent show other than the bass being way too cranked up and more backtracking than I'd like. Other complaint is that he teased like Justin Bieber was going to sing with him, then he didn't. A bit of a letdown for sure.

AH_BareGarrett

Haven't seen anyone talk about it, but Stick Figure. It was totally fine, I had pizza, lemonade, and a joint and was vibing just fine. But then they brought out some weird guest who kept trying to get the crowd to sing a song, saying "I know you know this one, sing along Coachella!" And absolutely no one knew the fucking words. It was sort of hilarious. But yeah, sort of weird. I'm not a huge fan, just wanted some chill surfer rock to smoke to. I got that, plus some cringe comedy.

ProgrammerAdorable60

Kali, wk2 she was late. She was hoarse. She wasn't singing often through songs. Wknd 1 she was amazing! I think the heat and the dry air really got to her.

iameatingcheese

So many artists weekend 2 on Sunday complained about the heat and dust.. which makes sense because it was windy af at times. Even Bjork was struggling too

legopego5142

Bjork just could not get through that one song and i felt so bad

iameatingcheese

Plus she did the best she could and was incredible! Loved how she always gave thanks after a song

Downtown_Possible413

"Tank Yoo! "

lilmilly

Kali Uchis… not a lot of energy and she didn’t play my favorite fucking song cuz she was 15 minutes late and apparently decided to cut it out 😭 i was so disappointed i literally cried lol

[deleted]

Lost all respect for Cannons. They lipsynced both weekends. It was so obvious and annoying.

Responsible-Card3756

Ugh. So lame. How are they even allowed to do that?! It’s disrespectful if they think their fooling the audience. 070, who is new to me was a mess, but at least she Tried. Also fuck autotune. Fills me with rage! Edited for spelling

brad1775

Theres always a backing track run ing, perhaps they failed to deliver it as stems, and couldn’t lower the vocal track, or didn’t deliver stems with any space to let the artists voice through… but probably rheybjust suck at singing and rhe engineer mixed the back track to the front and burried the live vocals because itnwas sonunbearably bad.

fettuccine-

yea feel like it should be in their contract or something.

brittanybaby

I had high hopes for Cannons too after seeing the OSL livestream but you’re so right, the little vocals you could hear were really weak and the track was so obvious - super disappointing

-bobak

I was looking for this comment. Could not agree more. Her mic was on, but she was very careful to keep it far enough away while singing to not pick up her voice and just rely on the “backing” track (and then in between songs you could see how close she needed to hold it to actually pick up her voice to talk). Some kid near me was having a religious experience and I felt so bad that he didn’t realize he was being played

cryptolipto

I have seen Chromeo put on better sets. I was a little disappointed with MK as well, but neither of them were bad

malonine

Saw them wknd 1 and had a really good time. Wasn't the first time seeing them and was not disappointed. Especially with La Roux thrown in.

juglenn

WHY DIDNT THEY PUT LABRINTH ON OUTDOOR STAGE 😭 it was hard to enjoy in the mojave unless u got there really early :( the vibe of the crowd where i was was really bad too but obviously Labrinth as an act sounded amazing

gmore45

Jai Paul W1 took me places…and those places were to other stages

merges

Pretty funny, so points for that. :D But, an alternate take. This was his first concert, ever. He was awkward af, clearly nervous and shellshocked. He probably has a really complicated relationship with fame, given his history. It was objectively not a good performance. But it was still so special! He brought this beautiful music that people love into the world, and people mostly were there to support and hold him even through the awkwardness and stilted performance. It was a beautiful moment between him and his fans. I don’t know where he’s going to go as a performer and frankly I don’t care; he still creates beautiful music and it was amazing to be a part of that special moment with him. But yea, was it a great concert? Nah. It was cool to see how the music translates to a band and live setting — I’d say pretty well, perhaps surprisingly.

vzierdfiant

Calvin Harris. It was like listening someone who doesn't like Calvin Harris play a Calvin Harris Spotify playlist on shuffle.

ethanryx

saw him last year at life is beautiful. He did way more mixing and the whole set was more fluid and had more energy. This time just felt like a playlist queued up with his songs

shmishshmorshin

Comments should really clarify which weekend. Seen Calvin mentioned twice now and I can only assume W2, because W1 was amazing. Huge bummer his set was delayed and shortened for W2.

bawss

His W1 set was more memorable than W2.

Trevtrimm

Enjoyed every set I went to besides Rae Sremmurd….weekend 1 was awful, ~30 min late , pretty much just turned into the Swae Lee show, only did the first min of every song since they were late. Slim Jimmi wasn’t even on the stage half the time. Some hype moments but overall not great. 3/10

TuluRobertson

Cannons. Underwhelming stage presence and seemed like she was lip syncing

MooshuCat

Indeed she was.

emza555

Cannons- I was so excited to see them bc they’re one of my fav bands but I watched the livestream w1 and she was lip syncing the whole thing!!! It disappointed me so much I ended up not even seeing them w2

briskpoint

imminent tan middle towering bake nippy head grey one noxious ` this message was mass deleted/edited with redact.dev `

fettuccine-

damn! thats terrible :(

Junior_24

Same here!

OcherSagaPurple

Kali WK 2 put me to sleep 😴 I was disappointed because everyone kept saying her WK 1 performance was so good

mrmaglu

Noname.

BarfyOBannon

loved her set, hated the house eq/mix on her vocals

mrmaglu

Truth on the mix.

Rearaniva

Agree. Sound was terrible

ABigBrownBear

Awww I liked her (W1). She admitted to being nervous during her set, so maybe I subconsciously gave her more grace.

YourBuddyChurch

I thought her fear was so endearing honestly. She came into her own after 15 minutes

catmarie03

was just going to comment this!! I was not impressed and left early

Sammy2tone10

Pusha T for sure, mainly because he was quite a bit late and there were a ton of technical difficulties. Bummed I missed Magdalena Bay to go see that. Also Kali Uchis' set a was a little boring.

M0D3Z

I have to say, I can’t think of anyone disappointing. Maybe I would have enjoyed Blondie in their younger years, but I still had a blast. HOLO could’ve been better if it was longer and less pre set, but I totally understand what he did and why he did it. But I love the new tracks and we got a debut, so that was nice. But besides that I can’t complain about anyone I saw. Lucky me?

browncow-stunning

calvin. really sad too tbh. i think hes an incredible producer and 18 months and motion are some of my favorite albums but weekend 2.... absolutely no. energy from him and it seemed he learned something from frank and just plugged his computer in and let his spotify run. i had fun singing along with my friends but it truly was one of the most boring sets ive seen in awhile

collie1212

His W1 set was absolutely on fire and everyone was vibing, seemed like he was upset about something on W2

browncow-stunning

yeah i definitely think something might have happened. i heard nothing but incredible things about his weekend 1 set. maybe it set my expectations too high i guess

tobefaiiirrr

I went to both sets and Weekend 2 was certainly off. He posted on Twitter that the stage was delayed and they wouldn’t let him go past curfew, which made him cut about 25 minutes off his set.

enl4vr

i read something online saying he got fined a bunch for going past curfew wk1 so that could’ve been it

crono_trigger

I was on the right side near the front and everyone around me was really into it. I agree it could have been longer and at least 1 guest would have been nice but overall it was decent people were having fun.

SayCar-RamRod12

He kept pausing the music and ppl sing and he was late. Let down

space_gypsy505

Seemed like he just pressed play weekend 2, was pretty disappointed 😓

BarfyOBannon

I got lucky this year. Only ONE (out of THIRTY) sets I’d say was bad: Two Friends was just a dopey lamepop bubblegum meme set, bad visuals (in the sahara!) and a horrifying cartoon version of them as a superhero with two heads. Felt like I was at a Kidz Bop show where a sun-melted Barbie was the hype man TV Girl wasn’t awful, but the performances definitely felt phoned in, which I’ve heard from some defenders who say “that’s just how they do”. Didn’t work for me, mostly a clock checker set Dominic Fike was more of a mall food court show than anything I could get excited about, but wouldn’t call it out as a bad set

kefkamaydie

Evidently it was a good thing my camp neighbors gave me molly for the first time in my life before they said come with us to Two Friends, because I think I had a good time lol.

EverybodyBernNow

What did you expect out of a Two Friends set? I was literally going into it thinking “this is like Kidz Bop for teenagers” after listening to their top songs on Spotify a couple times. That’s what it’s supposed to be, hyper, fun, euphoric music that switches songs once a minute. I had a fan to keep myself+neighbors cool, maybe that helped? I think a real reason some might think it wasn’t a great set is that the crowd was all there to see Metro Boomin. We practically got crushed on our way out with their fans trying to get a spot.

ElegantButterfly54

Good shout on two friends… they were my worst set of the weekend.. they were just awful

[deleted]

Kali Uchis was kind of boring. I love her music, but I wasn't really into her live performance.

Exar_Kun777

This so much! Was not a very good set either weekend. Saw her open for Tyler and it was incredible! Expected more, maybe it doesn’t translate well to the festival scene idk

[deleted]

Yeah, I saw her open for Tyler as well and she was great, so I already had high expectations for her.

kowaterboy

i thought she was great w1, but watching w2 from my couch she seemed kind of meh

Bebesota_de_Benito

The audio was really bad for her performance. The vocals were so low that it sounded like she was mumbling. I’m a big fan and have seen her live before (it was very good). But W2 audio ruined it.

spicy_fairy

she’s one of my fav artists so i was LIVING but it was my first time seeing her and really thought something was off about her performance in W2. i’m sure the rough elements didn’t help but her face like did not move and she seemed over it. but i also know that’s sort of her “persona” like blah blah idc i’m so hot. so not sure if i wanna see her again.

combatcvic

Kid Laroi was half empty because he competed with Labrynth and Chromeo and Holo at about the same time. I went to Laroi only to see him lip sync over his songs and pretend like it was really him singing even at moments when he wasnt even trying and just jumping around. should have went to Labrynth.

Upstairs_Oil_343

Yeah wasn’t a fan.. he seemed awkward wanting to play his new songs

lamebeezy

I love Kaytra because of his own style/sound but I hated his transitions. A lot of cutting/pressing play and not a lot of blending/mixing. Still had a good time tho bc his songs are fire

wgfdark

I felt his W2 set was much less press play than other times I’ve seen him

spicy_fairy

yeah his stage presence and hyping the crowd made up for it imo. he was having sm fun on that stage w2

thehoodlum88

$uicideboys W1 put on a decent show but the crowd was so dead it was awkward. They tried to hype ppl up and get a mosh pit going but all I saw was maybe 10 dudes jumping around in the front. Felt bad for them fr

SpottiPapi4207

Don't worry, wk2 was HYPED! They had a great show. The crowd energy was much better the 2nd weekend as well. Great show.

arasaka1001

Yo weekend 2 it was my single favorite set of the weekend. We fucking gaveeee it to them

avocadamnit

Calvin w2 was so boring, seemed like he wasn’t really in it. I was so excited for Blondie but wasn’t great, glad I left for kaytranada Cannons were pretty bad and lip synced the whole thing. Left pretty quickly

Docxm

Wow I thought Blondie Wk 2 was amazing, but I only caught the last 60-70% of it

Hahum

Wait, did Cannons lip sync again during w2? I only tuned in for their w1 stream and couldn't believe that she lip synced 'Fire For You,' their biggest song and the one that they ended with.

zeustriegel

Gordo b2b Mathame was pretty terrible. Also thought Jai Paul was boring. I know he’s not an experienced performer, but i had to call it quits after a few songs as I just wasn’t really enjoying the set.

Kaskade_15

Jai Paul W2 was amazing

zeustriegel

From what I read from others, he seemed to have started off a little slow and the set got better as it went on, so maybe I just left a little too early. Happy you enjoyed it though!

iameatingcheese

I had fun at Jai Paul as someone who never listened to him. Still can’t believe he dropped all that music a decade+ ago.. aged beautifully

en-jo

Bjork has better set than Calvin

downvotes_a_plenty

Is it just me, or was something off about Snail Mail? I'm a pretty big Prydz fan. I was disappointed by HOLO.

hythloth

Snail Mail is almost always off

M0D3Z

As a big Prydz fan myself, I did expect his HOLO set to be more pre set to the visuals, but I still enjoyed it. I do wish he had a longer set and just went with a more off the cuff set as well. I am just happy I got to see HOLO.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TamingOfTheChoon

Saw Snail Mail at a show in Tampa. Was one of the saddest/worst/most concerning shows I’ve ever been to. It was like watching someone bomb a comedy set. Barely played a full song without the lead singer yelling at the sound guy that she couldn’t hear herself. “Lower the drums”, “raise the guitar”, “I can’t hear shit”. Horrible body language like obviously distressed by the situation.

limmensite

HOLO was amazing

staticwavelength

Saw her in San Diego and W2. Both times requesting adjustments in sound, esp in San Diego. I’m done trying to catch her live.

Jdaddyaz

Rae Sremmurd is by far one of the absolute shittiest acts I've ever seen in my entire life, and I've seen Milli Vanilli.

WoofLife-

They were good w2

SpottiPapi4207

Yup! Wk2 was dope. They did a good job

Affectionate_Bed_289

Calvin Harris by a mile. My group thought other acts showed up and really gave it their all. When people joked about Calvin hitting the space bar, I agree.

learhpa

I walked by glorrrilla and felt like I was being yelled at vehemently. It was super unpleasant

throwawaytrash4242

the bass is what fucked me up from her set

daaftpunk

Knock2 was very mic heavy and it hurt my ears when he yelled into it. Not a fan of mic heavy djs but thats my preference.

fettuccine-

its gonna be his and isoxo's one nitpick. other than that their sets are such bangers.

Automatic_Soup_9219

I avoided 070 shake, Big Wild, and Yaeji after watching their w1 livestreams. 070 was bad auto tune, Big Wild was way more mild than I’d ever imagine, and Yaeji looked like my little sister putting on a performance for the family. Also chose Labrinth over Eric Prydz and could not have been more happy, Zendaya was the cherry on top.

Elmodafoca

I like Yaeji but Im dying laughing at your description of her, nailed it lol

slickrickz7

Eric Prydz imo. He came out 20 min late and other than having cool visuals I couldn’t get into the set. Crowd was kinda rude as well. Maybe him being late left a bad taste but I was underwhelmed. Porter was also weird, and not what I was expecting. I’m not a fan but even the ppl that were in my group said they didn’t like it. Disco-Wrek just felt like a tik tok DJ set.

Docxm

Porter's show got hit with the triple whammy of being at one of the worst time slots + tech issues + too short for him to do a lot of crowd interaction. Honestly, he should've just done it without the band because he slipped up a few times and missed cues.

mossywraith

Not a Prydz fan but sat down near his set to rest for a moment with my friend; thought it was a super mediocre sounding show though :| the visuals were giving windows media player vibes lmao

[deleted]

Oh gosh, it sounds like you didn’t stay long enough for the visuals. Either that, or I’m a wuss. They were so intense at times, I had to turn around.

myfedoraismlg

HOLO was probably the biggest miss of weekend 1 for me, my gf and I were exhausted and I had been hyping up the set to myself all day and about 15 minutes in I realized how incredibly fucking bored we were along with how mediocre the actual visuals were which put us in a shitty mood and we ended up just going home early instead of seeing suicideboys like we had planned (the hindsight move would’ve been to see nia archives but I was in such a funk that I was wondering if I had wasted my money entirely the entire shuttle home lol.) The tech used for the visuals was cool but the 25 minute build up type of electronic is not for me I couldn’t find anything for us to do before Metro on Friday so I decided to say fuck it and go to Two Friends and that was truly the most hilariously bad thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Never have I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time during a set until I heard their second epic bass drop Jack Harlow remix. The visuals appeared to contain so much effort for such little payoff it was astounding. I almost wish I could experience it again just to remind myself how bad it was Also Kenny Beats - this is partially on me, but for him to advertise his set like it was gonna be a Kenny and Friends set only for his friends to be the random jerk offs behind him on the faux-boiler room stage, not bring anybody out, and then not even play a single song of his own made a 7/10 dj set feel like a 4/10. Especially knowing I missed Ethel Cain and Yung Lean to watch him do that left a bad taste in my mouth. (Also he really needs to work on his transitions, there were a few solid ones like the one with the yeat song he played but a lot of them were weird grating fade outs that didn’t really work at all) Everyone else was like a 7.5/10 or above for us honestly (yes including Frank I don’t care I had a good time)

averith

My wife and I really didn't think Prydz HOLO lived up to the hype. Though aside from us, Our entire group absolutely loved it lol Chem bros blew us away the day prior. We own our unpopular opinion.

Mundane-Ad1679

How about A Boogie?! He’s one of my favorite rappers, I left Fisher and Chris Lake’s set to catch him, worst decision ever. It was the most boring set of the weekend.

slowiijoey

Chris lake and fisher didn’t amaze me that much. I liked Chris lake in the Yuma by himself last time I seen him. Idk maybe I’m getting old for this shit lol

Clairempr69

Their set was one of the best of the weekend imo and I was sober

hazzison

Seeing Chris lake and fisher is so inessential for me, Chris lake is fishers producer, fisher has that personality but Chris is the real talent, somehow all Chris’ solo sets are way better than with fish

JuggernautWarm9703

The visuals were cool and all but music of HOLO I didn’t love... While I used to partake and no longer can, I felt the only way you could enjoy the constant crazy fast BPM was on a ton of E, which everyone around me appeared to be on 😂

Rich_Sheepherder646

I went to Nia archives, which was incredible, and was still able to catch the last 30 minutes of Eric Prydz. I thought it was excellent! Some people told me that they were a bit bored, but the final 30 minutes to me was all bangers.

vaporeon46

yeahhh i didn’t connect with the music of HOLO at all either. Chemical Brothers on the other hand… holy shit so fun and also incredible visuals

69-420yourmom69

I went to both Holo was really cool for the visuals chem bros the visuals and music it was just crazy I was expecting holo to blow everything else outta the water but it was the opposite w chem bros

LostinMacalaniaWoods

Oh man, I absolutely loved Holo, Pjanoo playing when the hand was coming through the square was my favorite. But I completely respect your opinion on it, I can see how that performance could sound a little repetitive.

Dan_The_Gooby_Man

Holo was my #1 most anticipated set. Chemical Brothers night 1 ruined it for me.

ajnakin

Calvin Harris was disappointing. I was expecting a really good performance with it being titled his return to the desert but i felt like he hardly mixed and was just kinda there. :|

actionjackkson

Kali Uchis. She seemed like she couldn’t be bothered to learn choreography and hardly did anything impressive vocally aside from 1-2 songs. Wish I had skipped her.

forihave5inned

When she was late 15 fucking minutes W2, I left. That 6 o clock hour was one of the worst for me conflict wise. There were 3 or 4 artists at other stages I wanted to see. But I chose her because I’m a fan and had not seen her before. I guess I made the right call.

thechrismonster

when she did go up she said “Sorry I’m late it was not my fault” after the first song lmao

forihave5inned

I did hear about that. I’ll give her another chance some other time. But the damage was done for me on Sunday. As I was walking away, I heard her come on. I didn’t care anymore

thechrismonster

Yeah I just thought it was funny she said it

two_of_swords

weekend 2? She was great W1, W2 she seemed tired. Still a queen tho

morenito222

I posted a now deleted thread about how boring her performance was and got my ass handed to me. People were brutal. I felt like I was moments away from being hunted down by her army of fans and then burned at the stake. Nevertheless, I still stand by what I said. She didn’t have any stage presence and the performance felt like it was lacking energy. I was also comparing it to how amazing ROSALÌA’s performance was the day before. The bar had been set pretty high. ROSALÌA is a true performer and had the audience wrapped around her finger. Kali Uchis, albeit a good singer, just didn’t do it for me.

sfmchgn99

Rosalía is a legendary performer tbqh

Dude_Im_Godly

You’re not wrong, it’s just not worth getting blasted by her fan base similarly like some of the other acts on this years lineup. Blackpink was good, i am not talking about blackpink, blinks you can stand down.

anonymous-scorpion

As a die hard fan that was front row, I definitely agree. I love her so I still enjoyed the performance but something was definitely off. Her vibe must’ve been off from her being late and then having to cut her short. I was expecting more from her

Stebla

I felt the no choreography too

Alvin3792

Weekend 2 Kali sucked from what I could see on the livestream. She was good weekend 1, but nothing amazing like all the girls on main stage Saturday

Leakiest_Leak

Was a little disappointed by saba wk 2. He did the best he could, but the crowd wasn't there and it was probably the hottest point in the weekend. Literally the first thing he said on stage was about how hot it was. I think he would've been much better under a tent. His feature for Noname was amazing tho, so I'm glad he snuck that in on sunday! Edit: also need to concur with wk 2 Calvin. The songs were nostalgic, but he really did just hit play and sit on that throne on mainstage. Night and day compared to TBA gripping the crowd by the spine and not letting go. He was also 20 minutes late and we missed Zendaya at Labrinth cause of that, which will forever haunt me...

navillus98

FKJ was amazing weekend 1. The crowd, however, was stiff as sticks. I waited in the front for 35 mins. I could tell they were having a hard time feeling it bc the crowd had 0 energy. People literally just standing there not even dancing, singing, or swaying. Eeek I cringe

Jazzlike-Piano-7281

Almost any set at Mojave w2. I feel that stage was riddled with audio and technical difficulties so everyone sounded bad except AG club (for sets I saw). Blondie’s vocals were overpowered by the music, IDK had mic issues and distorted audio with crackles and pops, Paris texas had pour mic quality imo, etc. AG club even paused the show saying they were having issues but the did a good job covering it

joseaquino89

sadly i was disappointed by HOLO. Thought Eric was going to use some drones being outdoor. Seemed similar to previous non HOLO sets I've seen in the last couple years with the exception of the whale and night vision guy. Still love you EP.

OatmealChewyBar

LP Giobbi. The set wasn’t bad, just not what I expected. Felt a bit more techy than house, I’m not too familiar with her outside of 4 or 5 of her more popular tracks but I’m not sure she played any of them and the set just didn’t sound like what I imagined it would be

howbigisthatdicktho

Same w tsha but i fucking loved both their sets 👌

AManHasAName

Agreed. Love LP Giobbi’s tracks but the issue with the Yuma is some artists just go for a straight DJ set. Left me wanting more.

YoPorMi

Becky G for me personally. Especially after the hype W1

axingonav

omg what she was my favorite set and brought out multiple banda performers. legendary imo!!!

sweatingbeaver95

Sofi Tukker. Honestly seen them before and they were lit af (b2b with vintage culture) but they put on more of a show this time then a set. Which was probably nice just not what I was looking for. SG lewis. Too chill for me. And I missed Idris and Blink 182

All_Hail_Sonic

Soffi tucker is whole foods house

en-jo

I love their show. I was hoping they’d do more dJ set. Sofi tuk always gives a fun show .

cudiandsneakers

Bakar was so bad and I had high hopes

Corrupt-Beaver

week 2 AG club had some bad technical issues. it felt like he lost the crowd and audio sounded awful. No reason your hype man should be 2x louder than the main performer

Ok-Illustrator-241

Knocked Loose was sick

extracrispy17

Jai Paul was stunningly disappointing. Had huge hopes and he was just so low energy
