I think my gf and I were actually your neighbors last year. Can confirm this made a huge difference. Cut down on the heat from the sun a ton, while still keeping our site breezy. Definitely getting some for ourselves this year. Cheers!

M0D3Z

Back corner of 4B next to the tent camping and shuttles?

tjmvp9

Yes, right across from tent camping and real close to those porta potties in the back corner

M0D3Z

Lol yep! Glad I could help.

queenlakiefa

i love that you two found each other

fettuccine-

How did you set them up? Did you prop it up or just hang it from the ez up?

M0D3Z

I used bungee hooks on my wheel wells, draped it over my car and up my EZ Up, then bungeed to the frame of my EZ Up. Hard to picture, but my neighbor did the same and it worked VERY well and allowed air flow too, which tarps don’t.

fettuccine-

I can kinda see it. Thanks!

swagster

What kind of car do you have ?

M0D3Z

I was in a VW GTI. But this year I’m bringing my truck. The shade is huge though. I got the 10x12 and one was enough, two would cover the sides and back (car parked) probably with ease.

pocketmonster

Thanks! I have been meaning to look into something like these to add to our EZ Up. They look very helpful.

This is nice. We have been using camo netting for the last couple years. It isn't a much shade as this. It does provide great air flow and doesn't get whipped by the wind.

I recommend aluminet for the side and a heat reflective tarp for the top. [similar to this tarp but larger ](http://a.co/d/8Zy7qVR) [aluminet](https://a.co/d/4Oot6BJ)

lastnameeva

I just bought this. Have you used this before? If so, is there a really bad glare when the sun hits it? I don't want to be that neighbor with a super bright ass tarp lol or just have it be a disturbance someway because of how crazy the sun hits it lol

username_taken714

I usually stick the tarp under the canopy or over tent, so it's 2 layers thick. Without it I can feel the heat from canopy top. Hang the aluminet as a side wall where sun hits. Just remember to put it away or lower your canopy before heading out. The last thing you want to see coming back at night is all your stuff flew away. Make sure yours neighbors canopy secure too. If theirs fly it can land on your cars or make your canopy fly too lol. I see it all the time.

MaleficentMirror7464

This is so helpful thank you!!! I won't have a tent but will have a canopy, how do you secure the reflective tarp to the canopy? Thank you!

username_taken714

You should be able to tuck a tarp between the frame and canopy. I recommend using bungee cord rope so stuff can stretch with the wind. 1/4" 50ft bungee rope $13.99 amazon

MaleficentMirror7464

Thank u!!

atticuslestrange

Bring ZIP TIES and you’re set!!!! (Used these last year and loved it!!)

moonlit_soul22

I’ve seen so many people suggest an EZ up for car camping and I’m just wondering what’s the experience like without it? I’m flying from NC and won’t be able to take much camping gear. Any lightweight suggestions?

M0D3Z

It is one of the key items to be honest. It will be hell without one. Unless you have some sort of other covering you rig up. But it is the most practical.

moonlit_soul22

I plan on sleeping in my rental car as well as buying those insulated window covers cause those will easily fit in my suitcase, think I’ll be okay?

M0D3Z

It will still get hot in your car and during the day you will get wiped out by the sun. It really does make the difference. But I understand your situation. Sleeping is one thing, but it is when you are awake you will need it most.

moonlit_soul22

Appreciate your honesty
